  1. I just don't see the value in upgrading from Gold to this.

  2. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon till I figure out a few answers: 1. Is the one front of the line pass only for KI or is it for all CF parks with the upgraded tier? 2. Is there an all season long dining plan and drink plan option? (As of now I can't find any) 3. Should there be a food and drink option, is it reciprocated to other parks like the Platinum pass? Until I get any answers on this I'm fine not spending an extra few hundred bucks on my pass.

  3. Antique Cars didn't have a teaser dropped until like the day before the announcement.

  4. Yeah, looks like all the parks actually - or at least Cedar Point, KI and Carowinds so far. All three have Terms & Conditions page that link to 2023 T&C for Gold, Platinum, Prestige and Prestige+ passes.

  6. Or possibly the old Paramount Passholder entrance to the left of the existing front gate.

  7. So is this a return of a passholder lot like back in Paramount days, unless this is to put you into the existing preferred parking lot? Looks like the Waterpark will get a VIP area next year, and based on this it appears most/all of the parks will be introducing VIP areas for 2023. 15% Discount is mentioned twice, so do you get to use the discount twice per purchase And you are right, if they do not cap this, the VIP lounges will get overtaken and crowded quickly.

  9. Good Lord KI is killing my wallet this season! The merch is simply the best its been in 30 years... Now they need to sell maquettes of the Phantom Theater characters. Those would blow my mind...

  10. I just got the email today that my pre-order has shipped. I wish I had known it was going to be available in the park, or that I thought to wait to see that is was, before I placed my order. I would have waited and got my gold pass discount and saved on shipping on top of that. Oh well. I saw the email about the pre-sale late one night and ordered right then and there. It's the equivalent of a late-night QVC order I guess.

  11. It definitely contributes to the conversation. I would probably get a pass every year, but my fiancé may not. There needs to be a new experience to keep her interested. She isn't an enthusiast and doing the same thing she has done hundreds of times before doesn't make her want to get a pass. If she doesn't get a pass, I don't either. New rides are crucial to keeping interest and memberships up. That is why there are only a handful of years without new attractions since the park's debut. Same reason there is always new food options or new shows. You gotta keep the interest somehow. We have gone 2 years (2021 and 2022) without a new attraction. I like all the painting and park improvements, don't get me wrong, but it's time. The thrill rides section of the site has 3 non-upcharge attractions, Delirium, Drop Tower and WindSeeker. I've ridden a couple S&S Screamin Swings now and would love to see one at the park.

  12. It doesn't specifically say but implies that the non-admission and general parking benefits may not carry over beyond the home park. Need to reach out to the park for clarification on that, though. Regardless, KI is 1 daily front-of-line pass. CP is 1 daily FastLane entry pass (not a wristband, just a 1-time pass). So you'd still end up waiting in line. They don't specify that it's FLP, just FL, though that could be an oversight. They are limiting the quantity. 1 per day per Prestige Pass holder and a Prestige Pass is ~$150 more than the comparable non-Prestige pass. How many Gold Pass holders do you expect will see these benefits and sign up to pay at least double for their pass?

  13. ^and hope they limit the quantity of prestige passes sold or you still may be back to Racer using your one-time front of the line pass their lol. I see visions of some of the October Sundays where FL line is longer than regular line cause everyone is redeeming their free fastlane lol.... Edited to set the record straight since people keep replying to this post thinking I don't know what the front of the line pass means - I HAVE ALWAYS UNDERSTOOD AND I AM FULLY AWARE THAT THE FRONT OF THE LINE PASS IS A ONE TIME USE FOR ONE RIDE PER VISIT AND IT IS NOT A FAST LINE WRISTBAND....I HAVE USED THE ONE TIME VOUCHER BEFORE GOING BACK TO AT LEAST 2016 AND I AM WELL AWARE OF WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW THEY ARE USED... I was making a sarcastic comment that apparently people miss what lol and can imply in that situation...

  14. If they are trying to appeal to brand new pass holders, then you would think they would give you the rest of 2022 with this pass with all the extra perks kicking in next year.
    2 points
  15. I think that’s just the link to the all the prestige pass information
    2 points
  16. My impression is that Prestige is a new tier above the existing passes, given the price points, again as a "Prestige" version to complement the existing passes. It was bad enough when they tried to do away with Gold at KI, imagine them doubling the price from 2022 to 2023. Just trying not to assume since they haven't announced the offerings for each park yet.

  17. An astute point. Indicating that something will indeed be happening around somewhere near Dragster… at some point.

  18. Your guess is as good as mine, seeing as the traditional nomenclature is sticking around for 2023, at least at select parks. See MI Adventure with standard (Silver) Season Pass and Platinum Pass. Passholders should know by now that Gold is a certain feature set for the home park, and Platinum is for the entire chain. But then this is the same company that puts out merchandise that doesn't use the park's IP (e.g. some random font on a shirt instead of a ride or park logo)... Sometimes I wonder.

  20. Yeah, I personally don't think it's worth it. If you're a Gold member, it's 2x the price to upgrade to the Gold version of Prestige. Same for Platinum. I think if you're the type that goes 3-4 times a week I could see the benefit, with the greater discounts, bring a friend passes and the front of the line (not Fast Lane, but front of the line - is there going to be a THIRD queue at every ride?) pass. But for the average passholder who goes maybe 3-5 times a season? I don't think it's worth paying double the price.
    2 points
  21. You actually would lose benefits going from Platinum to the base Prestige. The base Prestige doesn't let you into the other parks - that's Prestige+ which is $400 (2x the price of Platinum).

  22. I'm seriously debating this. The biggest perk for me being the front of line pass every visit. We're only 15 minutes from the park and a number of times we pop by for dinner and a ride or two. Would be nice to pretty much select any single ride and get it done instead of having to select whichever is the shortest. But is that worth an extra 600 bucks for the family? I'll use the other extra benefits obviously, but none of those add up to worth it.

  23. Haven't heard anyone say that they will be leaving. I'd assume their price may rise though to entice people to go with the subscription one though.

  24. Do you get the + perks at all of the CF parks or just your home park? Like, VIP lounge, etc. I Tweeted at the park to ask. I’ll let you guys know when they reply. By the way. Sold.

  25. We have a clue that Timberwolf is returning based on the Terms and Conditions But it also contradicts since is says parking is included, yet it says here Fees for parking are not included... Fees for parking, food, merchandise, games, pay-per-experience attractions, concerts, and special events are not included...

  26. Yes I am also confused on the 2h entry, what does it mean? Also if you were a gold pass holder for 2022 before the prestige passes, can you renew your pass or do you have to get a new one.

  27. If you really want special, why not buy platinum to get you into other parks or the vip experience so you can go behind the scenes and have a personal guide for the day?
    2 points
  28. Oh lord. I don't think it's a 2h early entry, it's likely a special "prestige only" entry line (six flags anyone?) So really it's a gold pass with these added perks: 1. 5% more of a discount on purchases (15% total) 2. Free VIP area (waterpark/dry park) every visit 3. Preferred parking 4. Two Bring a Friend discounts 5. "enhanced" Pass Perks (wow 50% off a pretzel ???) dont know if its really worth the extra ~$200

  29. I think a lot of people do to be honest. Kings Island advertises a new attraction every year when season passes go on sale to incentivize season pass purchases and renewals.

  30. Honestly I hope we get no more chain restaurants added to the park. I think it would be better to move away from the chain restaurants and just have chef major do his magic and have park original food. Obviously still have popular Cincy things like Larosas and Skyline to pay homage to the city, but I think things like subway, chick fil a, panda express, etc could be replaced.

  31. That’s what I’d LOVE. A new Phantom Theatre, the long forgotten crown jewel of the Coney midway is rediscovered in all its decaying glory. Use the Midway mania style ride base with a heavily themed queue and transitions between “acts” of the show with physical props and prop/set animation, then use 3d screen (with “opera glasses”) for the headliners interactive games. Throw roses to Hilda to score points, throw dynamite sticks at Garbonzo to score, etc. I don’t LOVE the shooting aspect, but I think it would be an easier sell than a full passive dark ride. Then boo blasters could become peanuts or MarDGra’s international scavenger hunt using the characters and locations from Carnivale the following year.

  32. Same here. Lesson learned. When they originally said the preorders sold out I freaked. Lol From now on, if they don’t offer a specific online discount like they did with the black sweatshirts then I’m going to have to be patient.

  33. Oooooh. I like this idea a lot. No matter how much nostalgia I have for the Paramount years, Action Zone's theme and design has always been at odds with the rest of the park. Retheming the area to a new and improved Oktoberfest would be a fantastic step back to the park's roots. Removing Congo Falls and Chicken Shack would open up a ton of real estate that would lend itself nicely to reimagining the area and installing some new flat rides. I'm imagining a lot of parallels to BGW's Oktoberfest area when it comes to retheming the remaining rides, though I'd probably leave Banshee as-is. The Banshee/Bat corner would work great as a spooky church/graveyard sub-area. And, dare I say it, they could actually plant some trees throughout Action Zone.

  34. I for one would not be excited for this. We already have a Festhaus, which isn't being used to it's full potential. I would much rather see the sky ride return or something akin to Der Spinning Keggers, or some form of flat ride for that part of the park. Currently, it is the ride desert of the park. Only boasting Adventure Express, the park really doesn't have anything to write home about. I for one would be very excited if we saw something like a "reimagined Oktoberfest" renovation like we did with Action Zone a few years ago. German flair in all of the restaurants, an actual biergarten that isn't choked by beer sales inside of the Festhaus, the sky ride, der spinning keggers in the plot behind the Coke Marketplace. We have so much potential under the new management with both CF and KI, who wants to flesh out their areas; so I'm not saying it's too far fetched.

  35. I always thought they’d do a quiet reopening in the middle of this season. I doubt that now. Perhaps they are making modifications and using its reopening as a marketability factor. If someone modifies it I’d bet you dollars to donuts that Intamin has a big hand in it. Cedar Fair still works with them quite a bit, despite not having purchased any new rides for a while.

  37. If new rides didn't draw crowds, CFEC wouldn't spend the money. Some of us enjoy the parks as they are so we'll continue to go so long as they keep the park maintained and put in new things to do every so often.

  38. Agreed along with many others. I can understand how the preferred parking would be very appealing to some folks, but personally I don't mind the extra walk. Besides, we could all use a little extra exercise!

  40. Maybe I was not clear in my post The normal yearly sales in the past, it is listed at the top, not buried under a drop down. For someone who is not a current pass holder might just glance at the offerings and not think this is for the rest of 2022 because it is not clearly stated at the top. That was the point of my post.

  41. jeez Season FLP (for JUST Kings Island, all parks is $999) is starting at $799 this summer Was $550 last year. If you get the new Prestige pass and SFLP, that'll be $1,100

  43. I could be wrong, but my gut is telling me that the two hour thing isn't that people get in at 8:00am for 10:00am openings. It's that from 10:00am to 12:00pm, Prestige passholders can use a less crowded exclusive entrance so they don't have to wait in a massive line with everyone else to get in. It would be really funny if it's what you're saying, though.

  44. Preferred Entrance. There will be an entrance labeled Preferred Entrance. Likely 1+ dedicated lane at the existing front entry gate for 2 hours each morning. No waiting in line with the masses or even non-Prestige Pass holders. Separate from Early Entry but overlapping in time.

  46. In case people haven't seen, there have been more pictures posted on that same CP Rundown page on FB that show a heck of a lot more markings made near Top Thrill Dragster, as well as one in the station. Some are pink, some red, some yellow, some orange, more blue, so take that as you will.
