  1. I don’t want to start anything, but this is an extremely rude response. With this response, it seems like YOU are trying to start something. If anything, @KIghostguy’s critique are just an example of how much he cares about Kings Island. He, like many of us, know that the park has the potential to be better than it is currently, and he was just giving constructive criticism. Kings Island has some theming among other things that they have let go in recent years. He was just calling the park out because he knows the park can do better and wants to see the park do better. I agree with him 100%. Also, people have different reasons to visit the park. Many go to ride rides, but a lot of people just go to walk around, take everything in, and watch a show. A lot of people only go to eat a meal. We don’t need to poke fun at people at reasons for visiting the park. Heck, @KIghostguy never said that he only went to Kings Island to look at theming. You just assumed that. Even if he did, so what?

  2. I can't speak for him, but I think, from reading the posts, he just wants King's Island to finish what they started.

  3. I think that’s great. The last two times the organ was restored, it was so quiet you could barely hear it. You had to be standing right up against it. I think it’s a beautiful sound and it deserves to be heard throughout the park.

  4. I would say that an almost 100 year old historic organ, which the world famous auction house Sotheby's claims that no more than 10 are known to exist today of the Wurlitzer Style 157 Band Organ, breaks and is fixed within 4 days is well within an acceptable time period to fix such a rare item and in fact shows the priority the park is placing in this organ! Great to hear it again!

  5. I popped in for a quick visit today earlier this afternoon. The "No signal" TV that was broken at the Flight of Fear exit vignette is back in operation! Which was great to see. The podcast wagon is still not emitting audio. No idea about the station music/light in the meteor because like I said, I was just there for a quick visit. It's great to see that that TV was fixed, I hope the other elements will be repaired soon.

  6. If you want some fun ejector, sit in the first three rows on the right side of the train (farthest seat from the loading gate). Try to see about giving yourself some space from the lap-bar. Right after the second trim the train hits a bump and you get thrown out of your seat, tis fun. Has worked for me every time I've done that. They haven't fixed the bump there yet but likely will when during the week of weekend operations.

  9. ....This was a memory I 100% did not remember till just now. I would have LOVED to been a fly on the wall when the park mgt was discussing the haunt that year!

  10. I agree with this under the condition that queues are properly themed and kept up.

  11. I'd love to see a reimagined version of the current Vortex poster, showing the train going down the first drop. I will never forget that lift hill and the drop that followed.

  12. We lost like three weeks of 10:00 closings last year because of “unruly teens.” They said it was a staffing thing but… come on. The schedule was changed the next day. All of us here pay good money for the products we receive (as in, Kings Island). The fact that it has already had to be truncated once because of some bad apples is more justification enough for me. I know there are a lot of good kids out there, but if the parks can narrow in on the trouble causers as much as possible instead of having to “punish” all of the guests then good for them.

  14. The set pieces for Monster Rock have appeared recently at Festhaus, so it looks like the show will return for 2022. Hopefully the live band will return as well!

  16. Seems a little unrealistic to have someone fix it within 24hrs. I assume there's not a full time organ expert on staff.

  18. I would love to see them redesign the entrance and exit in and out of the park. I feel like I am playing real life Frogger entering the park and avoid not getting ran into by people crossing over from the exit. Wish they would either switch the exit to the guest relations side with a short fence directing people out into the parking area or have two exits out of the park on the perimeters. Keep the current one by International Restaurant and the other by Guest Relations with a small fence to guide people away from the center where the metal detectors are where people coming into the park are. Would need to work around the ticket booths and season pass somehow but sure they could find a way that works better.

  19. WE DON'T TALK ABOUT FIGHT LANE, PEOPLE! (That happens behind The Beast at noon on Saturdays.... I've said too much.) But thanks everyone for their answers. When I picked up my Fast Lane Pass at the Help Desk on Thursday, I wanted to make sure she used the season FLP, not the promo one (so I can share it with a friend later.) She said something about it nor being valid after August 31. I was not clear what she was talking about, and when I looked on the website, it said the promo was good until sometime in October. In the end, I can't find anything about the promos that expire August 31.

  20. I would say this year is it for TW. I think this year was a nostalgic cash grab to milk it one last time before tearing it down. Nothing permanent was added to the venue except for a fence and left over pavers for the “vip” area. Also a little paint here and there. Everything else is portable and can be used elsewhere. I’m glad some got to see a concert there that hadn’t before. Time to clear it out and do an update on Action Zone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. Now that The Beast has been working well for a change, something I'd like to see in the upcoming future - 1. Childhood dream of seeing Intamin manufacture their double or triple Ferris wheel again with the first installation being the new Zodiac at KI..... wishful thinking because I don't think that'll ever happen. 2. I'm with some of you.guys that painting and or adding lights on Banshee and dback would be great 3. Repaint of Woodstock Express. It's still very nickelodeon in it's color scheme. Should have yellow track with red trains or something like that. Definitely yellow track because Woodstock is yellow. Idk what color trains but definitely stay away from the neon nickelodeon colors.... don't want a tatsu repaint on our hands!

  23. Ok so July 31-Aug 4 I hit 5 parks over 3 states. These were Lakemont Park, Knobles Amusement Park, Six Flags Great Adventure, Hershey Park, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. (Drove right past Kings Dominion and Dorney Park....I currently don't have a platinum pass and decided to invest my time and $ into non Cedar Fair parks since conceivably I could upgrade to a platinum pass in future years.) Regardless so here's my thoughts and let me know if any of you have been and what your thoughts are. Lakemont Park is so small and seems mors like a recreational park but leap the Dips is an amazing piece of history and actually Skyliner was a pretty good Woodie... similar to Thunderbolt at Kennywood. Knobles Amusement Park was amazing.... well except that I spent$60 in 4 hrs on tickets. Regardless Pheonix is my second fav Wooden wonder after The Beast at KI. Twister was amazing too and is my 4th fav Wooden coaster. You usually don't hear much about twister but it was really good. Rode my first ever bobsled style (flying turns) was cool. Black Diamond was a way better dark ride than boo blaster. The teacups were a PTC crazy daisy and was alot of fun. The Flyer was the old Bisch-Rocco style and now I know why my dad hates Woodstock Gliders because it's so dumbed down compared to the old models. He remembers the Eagles at KI which is now at Carowinds. Now I've been spoiled on a Bisch-Rocco model and I'll probably never ride Woodstock Gliders ever again.... Six Flags Great Adventure surprised me in many ways. First El Toro didn't live up to irs hype....so first of all I had high expectations like maybe this can knock beast out of my top wooden coaster spot?.Nope! Not even close Beast is WAY BETTER! El Toro is probably my #5 wooden coaster but I felt it was rough and the end of the ride wasn't very enjoyable. (I don't like Mystic Timbers because of that side to side throwing motion and Toro was doing that too.) The airtime was crazy but I prefer the Pheonix for air and The Beast for location and speed and length and location and speed and length and did I forget to say location!? Anyway I rode 3x in 3 different seats and walked away with a headache so no I'm here to say El Toro isn't the best wooden coaster out there. It's good but not the best. Kingda Ka was amazing especially considering the dragster at CP has been closed for awhile now. I love b&m stand-ups and Green Lantern was of course one of my favs at the park. Nitro was great. Second favorite hyper after Dback. Skull Mountain was cool. Biggest surprise was the Runaway Mine Train. Everyone on YouTube and in articles say it's rough and I disagree. I didn't get a headache from the mine train and I rode it 3x in a row and probably close to 6x throughout the day. The location and speed and airtime was awesome...one of the better arrows in my opinion. Final rides to comment on at the Para-Drop which was unique, Twister which was my first "top spin" and it was a blast (kind wish Crypt would make a return to KI because top spin was alot of fun), and the Houdini Great Escape which was one of.the weirdest rides I've ridden....like I logically know it doesn't flip upside down but it feels like it. Trying to determine how a Vekoma Mad House works makes my head hurt.... anyway I Love that ride. Won't ever happen but I would go for a Phantom Theater themed Vekoma madhouse in the former action theater building at KI you know former action theater is now phantom theater.... Hershey Park was really nice. Super Duper Looper, Great Bear, Candymonium were awesome...laff Trak was cool too. Skyrush was like a mini millennium Force but those restraints kill.your legs. Trailblazer was a cute mine ride and comet was a classic. The Kissing Tower was the first observation tower type ride I've done that isn't an elevator to a platform like the Eiffel Tower. Busch Gardens Williamsburg I can't say enough....rival to Epcot in my book. Such great theming and rides. I did behind the scenes tour which was worth every $ . Loch Ness Monster was a terrific arrow looper and was really smooth for that ride type. They went into how much maintenance goes into that ride and how often they replace wheels to keep it smooth.... just visually looking at some of KI wheels on Arrows like The Bat for example I think that Busch Gardens hold theirs to a much higher standard. Like the wheels on The Bat would be replaced if it was at Busch gardens. Griffon was a great dive coaster. Apollo's Chariot was a good hyper. Idk.why people hate on it. Pantheon was down alot but I finally did get a ride on it and it was a fun mix of velocicoaster and Mr freeze reverse blast. InvadR was BETTER than Mystic Timbers in my opinion. Alpengeist was surprisingly rough and had bad transitions so it was a 2x and done for me. Raptor and Banshee are more comfortable. Verboten I cannot say enough about. Rode it 10x and got all 3 show scenes. Smooth, great launches and positive gs, great night ride, drop track was amazing! Best coaster in the park. (Wish I could reverse the clock and ride big bad Wolf because I know some people say it was even better than verboten) Escape From Pompeii was best themed splash Boat type ride I've ever been on. The fire in there is nuts! So there's my thoughts on these 5 parks and their offerings.

  24. The organ is awesome but it's definitely really loud.....I can usually hear it on Diamondback break run while I'm waiting to get off the ride... Glad it's working again!

  25. So all you did was come on here to do some passive aggressive complaining? Seems like since you’ve been back from Hershey you’ve done nothing but pick Kings Island apart. Just do us all a favor and keep the complaining to yourself. Sincerely, Just About Everyone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  31. That is a nice touch on the non firework nights. Honestly that song so perfectly sums up the park that I wish they’d record it with a few tweaks (no 50) and use it all the time for in park, and external marketing.

  32. It's a small thing but I really enjoy that they have been playing a bit of the Fun, Fireworks and Fifty song with the closing announcement this week. I'd love to see the original music show up more often like this.

  33. There’s three mechanics in the world that’s trained to deal with this organ. Source: Carousel Museum in Sandusky. The sky isn’t falling.

  36. I haven’t heard of any other parks having trouble replacing lightbulbs and fixing broken speakers. And there’s no excuse for constantly gating off a themed show space that you spent money to build in the first place.

  37. Yeah, I expect the medical/hospital themes to go away the same way everyone got rid of the "Asylum" concept a good while back now. I'd like to see a modernized Club Blood return in place of Blackout. Also, if Wolf Pack isn't going to be returning, I'd REALLY like to see that old station and ramp system torn out...

  38. The organ broke down yesterday afternoon and they popped the CD back in. The Carousel was playing the CD all of today. A very disappointing sound to hear! Not a good look at all for something advertised as one of the key permanent changes to the park this year.

  40. Having Haunt attractions themed to recent tragedies has never worked in the park's favor. KI is a business. There is a point where "edgy" is too much and becomes tactless for consumers of the park. Also, not sure if you heard, but there was a big medical crisis the last couple years that has become extremely politically charged and led to over a million people dying, so perhaps having a haunted house themed to a medical crisis in a hospital is a particularly tactless idea in 2022. Especially for the kind of amusement park event where there have been nationwide issues over the years with violent guests.

  41. I haven’t heard about Urgent Scare being dismantled; however, I wouldn’t hold your breath for its return. Many could find it distasteful given the past few years.

  42. I am not convinced it confirms anything. Think of all the different merch they have released this year. There's obviously a profit to be made from nostalgic rides and events.

  44. I understand what you're trying to say but the effect would only really be noticeable on light days and then you risk more seats going empty because people aren't getting to the station in time. On any other day, the time it takes to walk the switchbacks is too small to notice compared to the overall wait. Honestly, any time a bunch of switchbacks are open that don't need to be, I just check that I'm not cutting in front of someone and safely climb through the railings and no one minds.

  45. Love seeing all the upgrades and refurbs for this season. If I could pick one general thing to change it would be trees. Would love to see more trees planted around the park and rides. There is so much empty space and flat, wide pathways. Additional trees and landscaping would make the park look a lot nicer and add additional shading around the area too.
