  1. Just imagine clearing the route to Bat if it snowed... Fall hazard on those concrete steps, anyone?

  2. I think Racer would be a good choice and call it Santa's Sleigh Race. Put a red train on both sides and make them the sleigh. They can be rebuilding the blue trains at that point.

  3. Although it would be tempting to choose one of the more intense/bigger coasters like Invertigo or Banshee, I voted for The Bat. The past few Winterfests I've walked back there (well, as far as I can go without trespassing - which is to say, a little past the Action Zone bathrooms) and was sad to see The Bat closed during the event. Though I understand that The Bat (and my second choice, Adventure Express) are Arrows and therefore, they can't run below a certain temperature, it would be great to have it open during this time (and on that note, I wonder if Adventure Express will be "winterized" during the offseason so that it could perhaps run during next year's WF). They could even have lights on some of the trees and festive signs in the area. Also, like I said, my second (and more realistic choice) would be Adventure Express... perhaps this will happen with the opening of Adventure Port... EDIT: I saw someone voted for Beast... that could be interesting during WF... it could even be rethemed to an abominable snowman like monster

  4. I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to bring this concept to life in Planet Coaster, and here it is! The ride entry plaza pays homage to Vortex, with the ride's station being themed to the fictional "Vortex Vehicles" auto shop. Not stopping at Vortex, the ride's paint scheme also pays homage to the park's original Demon coaster with an alternating yellow-orange-red color scheme, with all of the visible inversions being red. The queue borrows some inspiration from Lightning Rod at Dollywood, with guests walking through the bottom of the auto shop: The boarding station has some light theming, with license plates displaying the different states Cedar Fair properties are located in: I made a few modifications to the layout, so it is actually a 10-inversion coaster. This would give it the record for the most inversions of any coaster in North America in addition to the previously established launch coaster inversion record: Riders park in a launch tunnel while engine-revving sound effects play, with lighting effects at night: The ride launches into its first element, a 16-story sea-serpent roll: After exiting, the ride travels over a brief ejector speed hill before flying into a twisted reverse cobra roll: After exiting that maneuver, the ride flies into a zero-g stall near the entry plaza: The ride rounds a low-to-the-ground turn filled with positive g's, before ejecting riders sideways into a wave turn: The ride travels over another speed hill and into an underground batwing maneuver, paying homage to Vortex. The ride exits the batwing and coasts over an off-axis airtime hill before climbing into the midcourse brake run. The MCBR slows the trains enough for riders to enjoy a hangtime-filled station fly-by, exciting guests in line. The ride rounds one final turn and goes into an in-line roll above the ride's entrance. Here's an overhead view: This ride was designed with Vekoma in mind, but I think if Kings Island were to actually build something like this, I think Zamperla would be an interesting candidate. They're rumored to be working on Dragster a few hours north, as well as providing the two rides in Adventure Port next year. I'd be interested to see what they could do with their overhauled coaster division. What do y'all think? Comments, criticisms, concerns?

  5. Adventure Express would be fun and it could fit in with Adventure Port like @MDMC01 mentioned. I ultimately voted for Racer just because it’s along the Coney Mall midway and would be easy to run considering they could either shut down one side and run it as one coaster, or do what @IndyGuy4KI said and take trains out of the rotation. Also, I think Woodstock Express could be added to the lineup.

  6. Couldn't agree more. Actually if a ground up floorless roller coaster was built, it would have the newer vest restraints on it. Now I know some people don't like the vest restraints, but for me they're comfortable. That's just me though. Anyway though, if the track was a little wider on Rougarou, they probably could have put the vest restraints on that ride. For me, I love Rougarou the way it is, but I'm crazy. Anyway I'm getting off topic here, but I think a floorless would be great in that spot.

  7. I voted for Backlot Stunt Coaster, but it would be nice to see Adventure Express run for WinterFest too. I could go with either one.

  8. So first of all this ride looks dynamite! Appears to have good speed, is a decently lengthy layout, unique inversions, and good airtime moments... I'm not sure if I'm totally sold on the car/hotrod theme seeing as we already have 2 car themed rides in that area. However, I love the idea of it paying homage to demon and Vortex (especially with the underground boomerang inversion). I would say I prefer this idea to anything else suggested on the forum so far.

  9. I think the Arrows have the highest starting temps. Someone who actually knows the numbers can chime in. I was told 45, but that could be wrong.

  10. Some speculation has circulated that Bob Inger will attempt a merger with Apple during his limited two year re-run as Disney CEO. Inger and Disney are busy deigning, and dismissing, these reports as idle rumors. Time will tell: https://variety.com/2019/digital/news/disney-apple-merger-bob-iger-steve-jobs-1203341956/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereksaul/2022/11/28/disney-ceo-iger-shuts-down-apple-merger-rumors-sticks-by-hiring-freeze/?sh=45343ab59ec2

  11. A highly themed ProSlide Hydromagnetic water coaster. Make it a twin track like Cheetah Chase at Holiday World to help the throughput.

  12. Bat because it easily maintains its speed until the end and spreads crowds out better.

  14. I hope they relocated the two redbud trees that were planted during the 2022 offseason. I'm fortunate enough to have tons of them on my farm growing wild, they are beautiful specimen trees. It would be cool if they would plant some pawpaw trees. They are a subtropical species but have a very tropical look and are native to the area.

  15. Yeah, over there in the maintenance lot by the paint shop, carpentry and whatnot. The backstage tours that include it are fascinating, it's like a museum in there.

  16. If you look though the fence when you walk from Planet Snoopy over to the waterpark you can see it. Close to where the walk way over the train is. It's not accessable to GP.

  17. Or it will get sold at an auction like Firehawk sign did .....

  18. Heres a new concept of mine. This one involves basically splitting Timberwolf in half. Based on observation of this past year's concerts, the concerts weren't even half sold and it's pretty obvious Timberwolf won't bring in the big acts that Riverbend does so they don't really need the 10,000 seats. This idea will allow them to use some of the land for new additions/new coaster (I have here a B&M surf) in part of the land and in the other half where the stage is, install grass for festival style viewing and still have concerts (more like what the Busch Gardens parks are doing) where it is more up and coming/local acts and is free with park admission.

  19. Oh absolutely!!!! Out of all the options available from them, I will HAPPILY take a floorless if a Blitz or Infinity on that plot of land isnt an option, especially if it were to be a similar brethren or clone of Dominator!! Edited to note: Thinking about it, one thing Id really like to see with whatever the park decides to do with the area is to keep a good degree of separation between it and The Beast. I truly dont know the logistical possibilities of possibly transplanting some mature-ish trees to further isolate it from whatever is installed, but that may negate the possibility of placing something the size of Dominator in that area. Just spitballing off the cuff here, random Sunday morning thoughts.

  20. The Coney Island theme was supposed to be Coney Island "after the turn of the [20th] century." If a coaster is to go on The Vortex plot, I say build an RMC hybrid inspired by the look of the Coney Wildcat.

  21. I did made a prediction for River Town, think of it like a update if a Vekoma Madhouse is added.

  22. If we want to get a little crazy and not disturb The Beast woods, I made a little concept where it interacts with the pathway basically making it a centerpiece in the middle of the park. I came up with this idea based on the Intamin blitz being built at Parque Warner Madrid where it goes over top pathways. It would also require the removal/relocation of the 3 point challenge as well as some of the area behind Jukebox diner, but if Parque Warner can squeeze in a blitz where they're putting it, I think they could do that here if the park really wanted to. The line for Backlot would have to be changed a little bit, but I made it so it could work. Introducing Tyrant! Rule the Island of Fort Coney!

  23. It's simple. Just build the coaster underground so it can't sink.
