  1. If backlot were to be running there would need to be track heaters added, that ride does lots of rollbacks towards the haunt season where temps are a colder. Adventure Express seems like it would be able to run, even when riding in cooler temps the ride seems to not lose much speed at all (To me). As for the wooden coasters, they all can run easily, however the ptc maintenance programs for the rides seems to be the only reason they don't run. Since mystic has millennium flyers it seems like the maintenance period for those trains are significantly shorter. DB would valley. Orion has so much speed that it would easily make it through, however even though some nights aren't that cold, some are very cold which could be a free ticket to hypothermia, so for consistency reasons it is not open. Banshee likely could make it through, (as seen via chad showalter's) it has cycled in below freezing temps with snow falling. Again, I don't know how it would be if it would be too cold for humans with the train design. The Bat seems like it could work fine, however with such a rare ride type I wouldn't risk adding more wear to it so it can last longer. Flying ace, I don't think it would be able to make it through, it goes pretty slow. Woodstock express is in the same boat as beast and racer, the ptc maintenance program is lengthy. Invertigo I have no idea, (I personally don't like that ride anyway so I wouldn't ever care if it was open). Surf Dog is always plagued with issues when operating during the normal season, I think the cold air would only make those technical issues worse.

  2. Nothing says “horror area” like a big play area in the middle LOL (come to think of it… squealing kids kinda IS a horror)

  3. If only there was a thread about it...oh wait LOL https://KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/45286-kings-island-web-cams-new-views/ They replaced the cameras and fixing it is low priority until they get to it LOL.

  4. I literally just saw this on Reddit the other day and was going to share it here! Great work! However, I think they'll keep Drop Tower and I'm not completely sold on the idea of removing Timberwolf quite yet. I did make a concept the other day of cutting Timberwolf in half and giving it lawn seating and using the other half for new attractions.

  5. I made some concept art for what I would retheme Action Zone into. It still keeps the horror theme that The Bat and Banshee fit into, and replaces some of the older flat rides to fit the cryptid forest theme.

  6. I’m pretty confident that they will keep the spinning barrels open for Winterfest next season and possibly even the enterprise. With exception to Orion, all of the new attractions that the park has debuted, since Winterfest has returned, have been incorporated into the event: Mystic Timbers and the Antique Autos. I’m not sure what the maintenance is like on Arrow mine trains, considering you have tubular track on top of wooden supports. I like to think they could run it with Winterfest, but I’m not an expert on roller coaster maintenance.

  7. For the PTCs, I wonder how easily they could work it where they run fewer trains. Would be slower but one train operations (or run just one side of racer with two trains) and then do maintenance on the other trains during this time. If they get those done, then swap them for the ones that were running and do the off season maintenance on them at that point. Capacity would be hurt, but with the lower crowds in the park during this time it might not be too bad.

  8. I'm glad Chapek is out. I'm not sure what Iger plans to do but at this point I think everyone can agree about anyone is better than Chapek. Disney has been failing under his leadership especially since the pandemic. Disney + while we love it, is losing tons of $, the parks have lost their magic and have been reduced to just ordinary theme parks that cost triple what others cost, and the movies for the most part have been kinda lack luster too. I'm not going to voice my political views because that's not what KI Forums are about but I think it's a bad idea for any theme park to get political about things that don't even concern them. Like when was the last time Kings Island made a big political statement. I've never seen if they did. Amusement Parks are a place where people from many places, ideals, backgrounds, etc can come together and make memories and have a great time. I'm not sure if Iger can restore Disney as a company to it's former magical glory but surely something can be improved. Even if its just the return of magical express or fast pass or perhaps having great employees for a change. I was there in 2021 and we had a list going of bad employees. I was honestly disappointed because my sister and I FINALLY convinced my parents to go with us (we'd been in 2017&2018 without them) and my dad spent $7k on what to me was a lackluster Disney. I think he and my mom had a blast but agreed that financially they would not be able to afford it again however, I was disappointed knowing how much better it was the other times I had been. When my dad is in awe over a character float I'm thinking yeah whenever I went it was an entire parade or when my mom thinks it's so nice that they gave my aunt a lightning lane for being evacuated from splash mountain I'm thinking, yeah but in 2018 they would give you like 4 fast passes. (My uncle didn't fit on Avatar Flight of Passage in 2018 and they literally did give him and everyone in our group four fast passes a piece) So hopefully some of the "customer first" mentality comes back with Iger at the helm instead of our one and only focus is HOW DO WE MAKE AS MUCH $ AS POSSIBLE! I said that CEO Mickey got axed during the pandemic and they elected Scrooge McDuck to be CEO and his business motto was let's make money and bah humbug!

  9. Valid points... I'm all for a helix or additional turns maybe like maverick does low to the ground. Still say that the Boomerang inversion is the highlight of this design though numerous other inversions look amazing as well. Regardless of what type of coaster replaces Vortex I think the design needs to include a boomerang with tunnel. Now I'll be very disappointed if it doesn't.

  10. A highly themed ProSlide Hydromagnetic water coaster. Make it a twin track like Cheetah Chase at Holiday World to help the throughput.

  11. Let us agree to disagree. It's certainly no Flight of Fear, but the cemetery certainly adds to the appeal the ride has.

  12. in concept yes, but the execution is a "modern" church, tons of concrete and a few Spirit Halloween tombstones with disco lighting that stopped working a year or two after opening. If there was a themed break run, sure. If there was a themed queue, sure. As it stands NAMING something scary is WAY different than theming something scary. You could just as easily call Banshee "EaglesFlight" and it would be the same experience. The "theming" adds little to the overall experience (which is unfortunate as it had one of the best teaser videos ever, and the gift shop was an eventual waste of space that could've been used to help finish the story as you left, or been configured to use it as the entrance instead of the exit.
