  1. Ikr we hear this every single year. Like how long has Timberwolf been rumored to be removed? Probably since Paramount owned the park. I think we should all accept that Timberwolf is likely not to be removed unless they absolutely need the space which Kings Island does not lack at all (there's literally a big empty hole in the back of the park that would be perfect for a multi launch). Plus, even if it's not every day or always big concerts, they still use Timberwolf for Music in the Parks as well as select events like Spirit Song or the concert series from last year, They also use the stage for WF/Haunt assembly. EDIT: Another thing I might add about the screenshot/link is there is no date set yet so don't take this like an official announcement. They have yet to post about it on their social medias. I'd take this as evidence pointing towards it returning, but not 100% confirmation. I just noticed the site changed from "Spirit Song will be back" to "see you in 2023". Very likely them getting the site ready for an announcement, but again nothing is confirmed until they announce it for themselves which if I were to recall, it was around this time in 2020 they announced the dates and the lineup for the 2020 festival which of course ended up getting canceled due to covid.

  4. The concrete for 72 was to fit with the flight base theme. Flight bases have concrete/blacktop.

  5. @Shaggy, you may be sitting on a gold mine. Side note, if you see me with baggies on Congo Falls, mind your own business. I'm starting up an online biz.

  6. New episode: Tom and Janine Rebbie from PTC: If you ever wondered who was responsible for switching from buzz bars to individual lap bars, it’s discussed here. I was surprised by their answer.

  7. Just think of the money that dried off riders in the sun. Little did they know they could have wringed out their clothes, collected the water and at $50 an oz maybe would have had enough for parking

  8. So, I finally started reading the book tonight. Just finished the first chapter (and the two intro sections before this) and I already love it! It's well written, easy to read (as in, I'm not having to grab a dictionary every two seconds, unlike other books I've read) and the reading experience is both exciting and nostalgic. Great job @KIghostguy! Also, great integration of the interviews thus far (it reminds me a lot of a similar book I read called Slimed about the early days of Nickelodeon) I am looking forward to learning more as I go!

  9. Fair, but I feel like a darker black or grey paver color would have worked just fine. Kings Island could have even used lighter colored pavers to make the ground look like a runway. I think that would have looked and aged better. On a side note, I think he would be awesome if Kings Island hired IMAscore to create a custom soundtrack for Adventure Port. I think that would add a lot to the new area.

  10. That is a good sign. While the concrete in Oktoberfest did not look that bad as it was relatively new (it was poured when Banshee opened), pavers make any area look way better. I was honestly a little disappointed when Kings Island decided to pour new concrete in Area 72 after digging out the old concrete. It just does not age as well as pavers or look as nice. It is better than asphalt, though. The asphalt walkway between Area 72 and Coney Mall already looks pretty bad with all its cracks after only a few years.

  13. But I thought Timberwolf was being torn down for a Mack multi-launch?

  14. Live nation is already used for Riverbend though. I'm sure the park has tried, but with how outdated the venue is no matter how many times they try to fix it up, I believe live nation themselves know that artists would choose Riverbend over Timberwolf. Plus Riverbend has more than twice the amount of capacity than TW especially with the large grass area.

  15. Saw this online: Couldnt believe it, so I went to eBay to check it out... sure enough... BTW - I have some KCKC water if anyone wants to buy it for a mere $200... ;-)

  16. I 100% agree. It would be a perfect fit for the park. Have it have launches like Ride to Happiness. Take off the steel plate that controls the spin and add crazy elements and boom perfect fit for KI. Plus that type of ride is very rare and would bring in tons of guests. ( Of course not everyone might agree on taking off the plate that controls the spin that is just my opinion )

  17. Wondering how much cheaper the new price will be since the cups cost less to produce….just kidding. (As my dad liked to say…500 comedians out of work and you’re trying to be one.)

  18. Buy the candle that smells like it instead. Sure it’s a lot cheaper to buy.

  19. I really hope Kings Island opts to rip out the concrete in Adventure Port and replace it with pavers as they age much better than concrete, and they look way better. I haven’t seen any signs of the concrete being torn up yet.

  20. I am sure once January hits, they will start more site work in earnest. Especially since they will have access to the full site.

  21. always a dicey proposition for parks in the north/midwest to start a project and finish by opening day. See The Beast this past season. 50 degrees is usually the ideal lowest temp for pouring concrete. It can be done below 50 but that requires additives to the process. So yea i guess this is off topic but I can see them pouring concrete for the buildings in the cold weather. Probably not for the 2 new rides though.

  22. I'm hoping to see Vortex plot in 2024or2025. I think there's potential to work with the terrain there that Vortex didn't always take advantage of. The boomerang was cool because it was so low to the ground and appeared to be in a trench so to speak from the walkway. However, most of the ride was strangely very high up off the ground....I hope the new coaster has some low to the ground sections that can utilize a bit of that hill/valley area of the plot. I think it's great when coasters match the terrain they are built on and around....one reason The Beast is still my #1 wooden coaster!

  23. I sure do love me some nice freshly graded land Hoping to see it for Vortex's plot in the next 5 years. :fingers_crossed: !!

  24. I saw a post today that Kings Island is having individual concerts throughout the summer but no mention of Spiritsong.

  25. My understanding is that Spirit Song, since 2000 or so, would sell out immediately. Once it got to 2010-ish, it would ultimately sell out, but not until the last minute. After 2014 or so, Thursday would not sell out, Friday was hit or miss and Saturday would sell out. The parent company was in financial trouble before covid, and I believe they filed for bankruptcy in the wake of the pandemic. I don't know what the future of the event will be. Even if the company goes belly-up, I'm SURE there is another Christian music promotion that would be willing to organize the event. Only problem is, the venue may only sit empty for a little while before it became a tempting expansion target. I do not believe that there are plans to redevelop the area, but if it has zero events, it's a large plot of land, and has street visibility... how could that discussion not come up eventually?
