  2. Per the Season Pass Holder page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KISeasonPassholders/permalink/1927807757552332/?mibextid=BUZLm6 Cool that the Sky Ride footing has survived thus far!

  3. Oh boy, I'm going to get flag all over again... but yea I think my hopeful ride in K.I. inside the Crypt building is probably gonna happen next year. Not saying it's true or not. But with Mike Koontz saying that he will evanescently and for Vekoma to show that they're working on the next Madhouse in this video on that time frame. https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx4muIHXPpASWKjC7BRmwZbJy-2KRQD5u- I think Kings Island will finally get one of these, and I do have evidence to show if it happens. 1. Vekoma is starting to resurge to America after a long time. Started off with their Family Suspended coaster, with Circuit Breaker and Big Bear Mountain, I could see the possibility that Cedar Fair will hop on the Band Wagon and add one of these to the park, and for Kings Island to finally have a chance to ask for a Vekoma Madhouse for there park. 2. Madam Fatales been inside that building for a decade, Kings Island needed to replace that maze with something else. Mike Koontz wanted to see that building to house a new ride inside. The Madhouse can easily fit inside without even striping or tearing down the building, and can decorate the outside to make it fit in River Town. Which brings me to evidence 3. 3. That building was design to build a flat ride even if the walls are up. You can thank Paramount on this one, They manage to build a Huss Giant Top Spin inside to hide what they're building. You can do the same with a Madhouse. They might dig a few feet under to fit the Motors that spin the house upside down, and pour new concrete for the support of the Room and Gondola and electrical wirings, but they could manage it. 4. The last evidence is that it will be a people eater like a B&M coaster. With Pre-shows and even more theming, it can easily bring and move riders in this ride. Every Madhouse must have a Pre-show or shows to tell what is going on, and importantly to make sure that it doesn't delay the ride for it. And even more cool is that it has no minimum height for kids to ride, But they're will be a minimum height for guest to ride alone, somewhere around 48' inches. But it will not only bring all the family to ride, but also can give kid a chance to ride some of the rides that goes upside down. Being a illusion ride, it can give the kids a head start on going upside down before the real deal. That's all the evidence that I think a Vekoma Madhouse might come next year. If I'm wrong don't rant about it, after all it's just my prediction. But you can post your opinions or ideas in reply. Thanks for reading and remember my catchphrase. "Keep the Madhouse WILD!"

  4. But why? If anything that side needs lusher landscape to make it less confusing. You want “the land formerly know as Oktoberfest” to have NOTHING to show for itself any more? Lol

  5. I was thinking that exact same thing. Either a cat or a small dog of some sort.

  6. The 2 flat rides should take maybe a few days tops to put together. Most flats of that size go up quick. The only thing I see not being open once the season starts is Adventure Express depending on the extent they are sprucing it up.

  7. Looking good so far! I’m really liking the colors on the Mercado. But I would be shocked if Adventure Port is finished by opening day. It looks like there’s still a lot of work left to do.

  8. I think it depends on what the refreshed TTD ends up being. If it's just an LSM launch change and new trains and new theme and not a layout change, I could see a new coaster at KI. Ik CP and KI haven't gotten new large marketable investments in the same year under the same ownership, however the past doesn't always reflect the future. I don't think anyone saw CF adding 4 new coasters in one year (2018). We'll see though. Hoping along with the opening of Adventure Port, it is another year of the KIC decoding thread (minus me messaging John Matarese of course lol).

  9. That wouldn’t make sense as it isn’t in the same area. That “zone” seems to be staying a “German neighborhood” of IS with the pretzel building (can we PLEASE for the love of God get rid of Auntie Ann’s and instead do real, artisan pretzels with creative toppings and flavors) and Festhaus, the completely un-German, German food and festival haus.

  10. I could see it being like Jungle X at KD where we keep seeing theming added throughout the season. I'm also holding out hope that Viking Fury could be rethemed to some sort of cargo ship and it gets a late "hidden temple" like announcement like Reptilian and Arachnidia at KD.

  11. I've always liked this idea and all of your points are valid! In my personal opinion whatever they are cooking up to replace Vortex can wait till 2025 and they need to either give us the madhouse or they need to restore boo blaster to the phantom Theater. Either one works for me!

  12. Liking what I'm seeing and I'm very hopeful this will all be done by opening day...it will be almost as disappointing as opening day 2022 when we walked back to The Beast and realized it would still be closed for another month or so if Adventure Port isn't finished by opening day.

  13. I too thought about the not having Fireworks until Memorial Day weekend. Yes, that does seem odd to close at 7pm on Sundays. Likely due to schools being in session though. At least we still have the 10am opens. There was a year where the park was opening at 11 during Covid.

  14. Based on this, they're likely pulling a last year and won't start fireworks until Memorial Day weekend. Gives them time to get it ready and based on the interview with the guy from Rozzi Fireworks it'll be similar to Fun, Fireworks, and 50. Sucks, that hours are shortened though. Like 7 pm on Sundays? That's 2020 hours lol.

  15. Will Oktoberfest be removed from the park with the addition of Adventure Port? Will Festhaus get annexed by International Street?

  16. I would think that a 2024 coaster would be very probable for Kings Island considering that Cedar Point and Canada’s Wonderland are technically getting new coasters this year and Carowinds is receiving a very large addition in Aeronautica Landing. Besides some “wild card” parks like Dorney Park, those are the only two parks that I could see getting a new rollercoaster before Kings Island. However, the refreshed Top Thrill Dragster may push a potential 2024 rollercoaster back some. I really hope not, though, because when Canada’s Wonderland had Yukon Steiker pushed back for Valravn in 2016, it took THREE years for it to finally open. I guess we’ll know if a coaster is in store for 2024 in a few months.

  17. I don't think so. My prediction is that Oktoberfest might take over Action Zone. (P.S. we already have that topic.) https://KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34068-oktoberfest-discussion

  18. Agree to disagree on both points. What CF is doing with all these projects you mentioned plus Adventure Port and Boardwalk is more architectural “themed structures” where are easier to maintain than theatrical effects needed to make a mad house interesting enough to “draw guests from around the world”. Got it-you want one-I’d like to experience one once, but just don’t see it being a solid investment for the park. I think it’s telling that there aren’t to a of them around outside of Europe.

  19. Well a shipping port is a dock with boats and it is a large ship so I think it can work. They could even keep it a viking ship, but have it be a cargo ship overtaken by Vikings. They can easily reroute the queue and have the entrance near Enrique's.

  20. Can I counter that. 1. Cedar Fair are doing theming, Aeronautica Landing at Carowinds and the new Fiesta Village at Knott's are changing what Cedar Fair is doing. They're giving us a premium experience. Madhouse is on that category of something premium. 2. I agree the story is a one and done deal. But it's actually have re-rideability, cause it's not the story, it's the peoples reaction when in the ride. Also it can draw in guest around the world to ride. And can have the guest to ride it multiple times every visit.

  21. I don’t think it will ever happen. These depend on theming and story elements to sell the illusion, and 2 points to that 1) even though it’s way better than before, Kings Island has limited success in keeping theming functioning at 100% (see spotty MysticTimbers swinging lamps, flickering lights, Banshee flickering lights, Banshee lighting package, etc) and 2) these are so story driven that once you have experienced the story a few times, there is limited “re-ridability” which is critical at a regional park KI.

  23. I like that this seems to clean up the mess that the biergarden patio had become where pergolas had been cut down, light poles added, railing tacked on where bridges used to be etc. speaking of bridges-wish that one came back to connect the food/bev location more directly to the other food location (festhaus). Now they just need to bring back the banners/streamers to the “German area extension of international street formerly known as Oktoberfest” to balance the colors. One side of the pond is looking bold and bright-the other is gonna seem a bit brown and dowdy by comparison. Even if they “absorbed” Delirium (renamed) into Oktoberfest as an additional ride for that area. It seems more like part of that area anyway with a minor re-route of the queue line.

  24. Not to mention that ride crews need to get trained at the new rides. Construction started on Adventure Port pretty late, which I one reason why I assume the addition was last minute,m. Cedar Fair always wants new additions to be announced by the time season passes go on sale and to be ready for Opening Day.

  25. That new color scheme needs some time to grow on me. It's a bit too bold for my liking at the moment.

  26. I think Viking Fury was definitely showing its age paint-wise before they repainted it in 2020, but the "dunked in chocolate" look is definitely an odd choice. The support color is nice, though. Personally, I'm more disappointed that when the time came to buy new awnings for the operator booths, they stuck with the boring solid blue color instead of going back to the original striped ones.

  27. Yes, it does stink that there are no 10pm closings in April/May on Saturdays. I am sure they had their reasons why the change. Likely to save on labor costs for one. Maybe that last hour just wasn`t as profitable as they had hoped. I am sure that Cedar Fair/Kings Island have analyzed things like that and know how much they typically make for any given hour based on the time of the season.

  28. Repainting a ride like Viking Fury comes from a maintenance budget. They probably needed to repaint the boat, and wanted it done as cost effective as possible. Yes, those details are nice, and would have been great had they been kept and repainted, but that would have cost money. Either money they didn`t want to spend, or would have come at the cost of some other project not getting funding/not happening. Be glad that they painted the ride. New rides like the ones coming with Adventure Port come from the capital budget, which is separate from the maintenance budget. Keep in mind that I don`t think KI originally intended to remove Sling Shot last year. There were reportedly a picture/post from the company that was going to be repainting the cage from Slingshot, about this time last year. Then the ride never opened last season. Not sure if that post with the cage was legitimate or not. Was is the plan all along to remove Sling Shot and add Adventure Port for this season? We may never know. I am thoroughly looking forward to Adventure Port and the two new rides within it. I think they are the perfect addition to KI. Hopefully in the coming years, we can get some more additions like this.

  29. Universal has discussed plans to open separate gate amusements such as year round Halloween Haunts, such as in Las Vegas, smaller children's themed parks such as recently announced in Texas, and a host of other opportunities both domestically and internationally. This represents a stolen opportunity which was open to operators such as Cedar Fair which has been quite reluctant to open or acquire second gates near parks and resorts they currently operate. An excellent example of FUN failing to extend the brand and operational know-how of attractions management is abundantly clear in Charlotte, North Carolina, where Cedar Fair has overlooked the opportunity of operating the NASCAR Museum in tandem with its Carowinds Park. Such a bolt-on exhibit opportunity would tie into NASCAR theming at Carowinds and extend marketing dollars by allowing for combination ticket sales at little to no additional expense. Ripley's Entertainment as well as Merlin Entertainment has grabbed the opportunity to operate second gates adjacent to popular destinations thus lowering marketing spends and capturing audience and revenues from competing operators both big and small. The move by Universal will capitalize on the markets FUN and others have created. This is, of course, a disappointment to investors who see the opportunity costs of failing to expand the brands to fully capture the revenues available adjacent to big draws such as theme parks. https://www.dailybulletin.com/2023/02/01/universal-studios-to-expand-regional-theme-park-concepts-in-u-s-and-worldwide/
