No, you have the whole day to ride. That's how it was whenever I went last year. You can buy it cheap in the morning, and ride it in the evening.

Don't know who sold you tickets, but the policy (starting 2016 season) was that tickets were valid for two hours.  Obviously, there are exceptions to the rule (downtime, slow days, etc.), but for 99% of the time, that's the case.

  2. Price starts at 10. Generally, if you go early enough they'll sell you a pair for 5 each. The price will rise to 15-20 on weekdays and 20-25 on weekends. Once the price goes up, it will not go back down. Also, there is a two hour limit if I remember correctly, meaning you must ride or at least be in line within two hours of purchasing your ticket.

  3. Actually Winter 2016 started in January 2016. Winter 2017 starts in January 2017. They are advertising something for Winter to boost sales, and not specifying that it's not this coming Winter. People will buy passes to go to Winterfest this coming Winter and not find out till after that it's not till next Winter. KI is not going to refund those people's money, and they will be mad. People working customer service will get cussed and yelled at over it. All it takes is them specifying that it's not until the end of the 2017 season, but that aren't doing that. It's being disingenuous to drive sales.

    I think you're over-thinking this...
  4. I did notice a certain Executive Chef, accompanied by people in business attire, closely watching the lengthy lines at Festhaus (pizza side) and Rivertown Potato Works on Saturday...none of them looked pleased at all. I think perhaps they know??

I actually talked to Chef Nathan today. (Great guy - say hi to him when you see him!) I've spoken to him and a few others about the food lines.
I do know a few Executive Chef's in real life and was super impressed that he was focused on Front of House as well as Back of House. It did resound to me that he was taking the time to observe the lines. This means they are at least going to attempt to do something.

Chef Nate is a nice guy and personable.

I have met and spoke with him many times.

I know many people that are nice and personable but don't understand or know what they are doing.

And that is all I will say about that...

I don't think this is the thread to be throwing personal jabs in...

  5. I think it can be very feasible if they had the money and the intiative and what I meant by rideship was year over year change of the numbers, all of the top ten rides ridden by guests at KI declined in ridership...

Here is your Google Earth image. :)

Dinos Alive could be ripped out and replaced by the station area for the new giga or the SOB station could be used as the starting point for a giga that would go over Banshee somehow.

I think the most realistic location for a giga would be with the station being where dinos is right now.  There doesn't look to be enough space in the blue location, and even if there was, I don't think they'd want to ruin the wooded area around Rivertown.  That's just my opinion though.

  6. Looks like Diamondback's splashdown is getting it's water back! Has anyone seen any rides testing the past 2 days? I've been looking but no movement on any rides. I know Diamondback only has 1 train together. Oh and I noticed that Banshee's burgundy shades are coming back!

I saw WindSeeker testing yesterday while going to pick up some paperwork.

  7. I am going to Kings Island in the summer of 2016 and I want to know what your favorite ride is. Please say which ride after doing the poll and explain why. Use on ride experiences to describe why is is your favorite. I know I have asked a lot of questions about Kings Island, but I am curious and wanting to know answers.

I don't believe the rides listed can really be compared, for many reasons.

For one, it's a mixture of roller coasters and flat rides.  Also, slingshot and skyflyer are paid attractions (you have to pay to ride), which could affect someone's opinion on if it's "better" than the others.

  8. I wonder what the construction flags popping up around Diamondbacks helix before the drop into the splashdown has anything to do with Project 2017? Someone showed me the pictures that were loaded to the KI PR Twitter account or Instagram... IDK... I don't have a membership to either account or I would post a link here. Lots of pretty little pink flags and a marker that says "Big Bend" or "Bic End" or "The End"... Check it out and post a link if you can.

Maybe it's one of the new basketball games that was announced on the food blog?  That'd be my guess.

  9.

With The Bat and Banshee being so close back there do you think they try to squeeze something underneath/ in between them?

Hmm that's a good question... I didn't think that far ahead hahaha

  10. So people have been guessing that whatever the blueprints are for is a giga coaster. I personally would love one but do you think we are off with our guess. Most people think we need a modern woodie, but the CF GCI contract is up. Is it possible CF does a one off with GCI or do they wait and eventually start working with RMC?

Also I don't think this "coaster" will be going in Rivertown. I think it is much more likely for it to be in the area behind Banshee. I could see them move or remove Invertigo and have it shoot across the fence behind The Bat and behind Banshee. Or maybe with the eventual removal of DA it goes back there as an X-base expansion. I don't think removing the woods where the old WWC que was would be a good idea. KI really needs to save some of the trees around the park instead of tearing everything down.

I could see them removing or relocating Invertigo and maybe taking out Timberwolf(?) and building in that area.  That could potentially fit the current trend of front entrance-crossing rides (Fury, Gatekeeper).  This would drastically change the skyline of the park, which would be a nice change.

Is Timberwolf used enough for it to be worth keeping?

Actually, that seems like too tight of a squeeze for a giga, and Congo Falls would be in the way as well.  Maybe behind Banshee and use the old path that led to SOB?
