  1. Too soon? Yes it would be a HUGE capital investment yet, Kings Island has some of the highest attendance in the park chain. Cedar Fair has invested yearly into Cedar Point due to its extreme attendance and I believe they would do the same thing for Kings Island.

Look at the pattern since Cedar Fair purchased Kings Island:

    2009: Diamondback

    5 Years...

    2014: Banshee

    3 Years...

    2017: Mystic Timbers

    2 Years...

    2019: Giga

The trend does show that Kings Island has received lots of love from Cedar Fair in the last 8 years and I believe that this will only increase, as this year seems the attendance is substantially greater. Another strong point is the fact that Cedar Point is landlocked and can only become so great. I wouldn't be shocked if Cedar Fair were to decide to make Kings Island the premier park of the chain in the near future. To achieve this feat a giga in the foreseeable future is a MUST.
Last time I checked two numbers don't make a pattern. For all we know it could be 4 or 5 more years.

  2. I have to agree with this here. I've only ridden KI FoF 4 times, two last year and two this year. Last year it definitely wasn't in the greatest shape, but I still thought it was a fun ride. This year it was a lot worse and a very uncomfortable experience. I wouldn't really mind if it was removed. In fact, now that I think about it, I don't think I would mind if any of the Coney Mall coasters were removed. (Except for Racer. All it needs is an extensive retracking like Rebel Yell and it would be so much better.)

  3. It was so nice having people tell us to drive safe and thanking us for sticking it out. I was checking bars that last hour and everyone was so friendly and knew what they were doing and it made that last hour of work awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out for Coasterstock!

You were checking bars? HOW did I not see you XD

  4. Orange and Blue B&M floorless including a pre drop, a turn around, a double loop, a double Corkscrew, a batwing, followed by a helix.

How did you come up with such a unique layout?

  5. I've only been once but some of my friends go frequently and I know someone who used to work there, so here's my advice:
It's not going to be very crowded on a weekday. On weekends you'll probably have some lines, but most of the people in the park are most likely gonna be at Carolina Harbor.
Fury, Intimidator, and Afterburn are the must rides. Everything else is worth the credit but pretty lame, so you will probably find yourself riding the same three rides over and over.
And most importantly, do not overhype the park before you go. Don't get me wrong it's a great park, but it's not quite the quality of KD, KI, or CP like some people say.

  6. I find reactions to Vekoma's to be a bit of an over reaction when they're given a negative light. I have had a few headbanging rides on Invertigo, but I've also had pretty smooth rides on it.  I agree about the Disney Vekoma's being smooth (I've only done BTMR).  Hershey's Sidewinder, a traditional boomerang, wasn't too bad, even with its original train.   T3 was funky in how didn't have consistent forces, but I liked the layout.
My thing about Vekoma is I wish they did more custom work.  It seems most of their resume are their standard designs.  While useful for newer and smaller parks, they don't really have much to offer for bigger parks.  Their flyers and all their inverted boomerang models are quite unreliable on top of that.

I think their fliers are reliable. I used to go to SFA all the time and I never saw Batwing break down.

  7. So I was at KD a few weeks ago and I realized some of the International Street soundtrack is a little different. I forgot about it until I heard the same track playing on a KI video. So I guess they must have upgraded KDs and decided to give it to KI too, which is nice.
I really admire Cedar Fair for doing this, and I'm really looking forward to see what they do to improve other parks in the chain. I feel like they made this year a light spending year because they wanted to use the extra money to improve the atmosphere of a few of their parks. It would make sense, especially considering both Worlds of Fun and Carowinds got some very needed upgrades to generally dead sections of the park. I don't know if that's actually the case, but if it is then I am all in. I wouldn't mind a few years without a B&M if it meant improving the quality of their parks.

  8. Unless they can do something completely different from KD's Hurler, it would be better to just keep it as is because I've heard this one is actually bearable.
Honestly, I'd push for Carowinds to get a GCI or maybe a Premier Launch Coaster. I don't think they'd get anything ridiculous like Fury anytime soon or a B&M but a GCI around the size of MT or a Skyrocket 2 or custom Premier would be a good fit as they don't have a launch coaster.

It's bearable but it's extremely boring. If they took it down it would give them a lot more room for expansion, especially since that's a fairly popular area now due to Fury.

  9. Cedar Point: Maverick, Gatekeeper, Gemini
    Kings Island: The Beast, Diamondback
Kings Dominion: Dominator, Volcano, Grizzly, Avalanche
    Carowinds: Fury 325, Afterburn
    Canada's Wonderland: Vortex, Mindbuster
    Knott's Berry Farm: Ghost Rider
    Dorney Park: Possessed
Worlds of Fun: Spinning Dragons, Timberwolf (hey, every park needs at least one terrible coaster!)
    California's Great America: Demon
    Valleyfair: Renegade, Excalibur
    Michigan's Adventure: Shivering Timbers
