  1. This isn't six flags we're talking about. Cedar Fair has more class. As for Carowinds' Hurler, there's really no telling what's going to happen with that. I hope that they just tear it down and build something from scratch. I know I've said this many times before but Carowinds NEEDS a GCI. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  2. I don't have any pictures, but I've heard that they have moved some of the track to the inside of the turns. So hopefully we will see some real action soon. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  3. Oooooo, next time I go in that area I might try to see if it's visible. I always like doing that kind of stuff when I'm not riding coasters. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  4. That's actually really depressing... I never knew anything about KDs train before now, especially since it was closed before I was born. By the way, where is the old railroad shed? I never knew it was still there. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  5. Six Flags New England? Six Flags America?? Having gone to both of these parks they definitely don't come close to KI in the airtime department. [emoji14] Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  6. Vortex drop & batwing in the back row is so amazing Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  7. Boi it's 10:51 and still nothing Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  8. PLEASE share them Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  9. Pretty hard to beat The Beast with that layout. Not enough twisty mixed with the airtime for this to be better in my opinion. I'm gonna guess that this will most likely beat Banshee though. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  10. ^ Carowinds needs a GCI Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  11. Yes PLEASE! I got so much airtime on Racer when I went compared to Rebel Yell. Gravity Group would do wonders for it, although I hope they repaint it. The retracked part of Rebel Yell is still brown for some reason... Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  12. I was just at KD yesterday and Rebel Yell is SO SMOOTH!!! WOW! A lot of the hills are too slow to provide good airtime but it's still an amazing coaster. And the view from the top is spectacular. Also I got some construction footage. It looks like there will be a bunny hill after the first drop. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  13. If you rode Hurler in the front row and knew how to lean into the turns then the one at KD is better because the straight sections were smooth and had airtime (only in the front row though. I think it's because any other row is so rough that you wouldn't even notice the airtime at all) I found that Carowinds Hurler was smooth but had absolutely no airtime whatsoever. So if you don't like defensive riding then the cwnds one is for you, but if you like risking your life for airtime then the KD one was for you. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  14. You might be sad, but your ribs ought to be happy. Those turns were the definition of pain. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  15. Finally an RMC within 2 hours from me! I'm legitimately excited for this after going 7 years without a new coaster. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  16. I'm really triggered because I love Dominator so much lol Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  17. If anything leaves next I hope it's Firehawk. It's my least favorite major coaster at the park. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  18. People only think that about Dominator because of Coaster Studios. Dominator is definitely one of the more forceful and better floorless coasters. Yes it does have a rattle at the end, but in all honesty it's not bad at all if you keep your head out during the corkscrews. I would definitely say that Dominator is a LOT better than Firehawk. Source: I've ridden Dominator over 30 times and Firehawk a lot as well. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  19. Oh. Well never mind then. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  20. Well Corkscrew is different. It opened at a more well known park with the closest looping roller coaster hours away. It's so iconic especially because it goes over the midway. Vortex isn't very iconic or anything. It has a bigger likelihood to be torn down sooner than Corkscrew. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  21. Wait KD has your #1 and #3? Which ones are they? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  22. I might as well give my opinion as I've been to both parks and I go to KD so often. First of all, I do think Kings Island is a better park, but not by large amount. Yes, Kings Island definitely has an advantage with coasters, but you can't forget about Dominator, it's such a great ride in my opinion. And RMC Hurler will definitely boost KD in that department. I have to give KI credit for having Diamondback though. It's my number 2 coaster under skyrush and over Fury 325 and I305. I don't exactly understand why I love it so much but I know that I definitely love it a lot. The flat rides at KD are okay. I like delerium and drop zone better than the ones at KI, and the crypt is really awesome. I don't really care about Planet Snoopy so I'm not gonna comment. KI and KD both have similar waterparks. KD has lost many of the minor slides over the years that KI still has clones of, but we have pipeline peak so that makes up for it I think. KD waterpark is also more convenient since half of it is inside the actual park. (And omg some of the views of the coasters from those slide platforms are stunning.) KD atmosphere is so much better. I'm sorry but it's just so obvious from the moment that you walk in that it's generally a lot nicer of a park than KI. And the music is generally themed to whichever section of the park you are in (African-ish creepy drum sounds in Safari Village [although only from some sections of it], absolutely amazing CUSTOM soundtrack for international Street, country music in Old Virginia [sometimes], and pop music in Candy Apple Grove.) And there are flowers and trees everywhere compared to KI. Oh and by the way, the BBQ pork sandwich from country kitchen is the best park food I've ever had. Overall I would rate KD as the 3rd best Cedar Fair park. Cedar Point and Kings Island above is, but Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland below it. I keep hearing people say that Carowinds is better than Kings Dominion but I disagree, I don't think a park with three good coasters and literally nothing else is anywhere near better than KD. Although I do have to admit that Carowinds has a spectacular top three. Sorry, I'm getting off topic... I'm very passionate about this topic though XD. So yeah, that's about all I have to say. 23. Oh you should be fine. Probably a little longer lines because it's a Friday. Schools probably won't be out yet, and you can just look up Richmond public school schedule if you want to be sure. The drone footage was taken from outside of the park borders. The border fence is right across the road from the ride graveyard. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  24. KD is my home Cedar Fair park, and it's definitely worth a visit. If you go just make sure to get there at opening and ride Volcano first. The lines on that thing can get atrocious and they move soooo slooowwwlllyyyyyy. (also I'm recommend riding Grizzly back row at night. and Dominator back row is great too as long as you keep your head out during the corkscrews) Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  25. Since when was Silver Dollar City in the south? XD Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
