  1. Thanks Beasttamer! My parents took me to GL/Sea World Ohio as a child, so remembering the park(s) as it was in the mid-nineties and seeing footage i haven't yet seen is great.
  2. Every situation is different. Every coaster has it's own set of unique variables. Past performance is not indicative of future events. Those that speak do not know; those that know do not speak. ¯\_ツ_/¯ shrug
  3. I was gonna start this thread but I forgot I'm glad someone thought of it, thanks malem. I was wondering if this was in anyone's plans. I initially really wanted to attend, still may, but like everyone else in this thread, the weather+temps will be the key determining factor...
  4. Trademarks that have expired and are no longer actively held by the filing entity are eligible for re-registration by a new entity if certain conditions are met. This looks like a site similar to LegalZoom, where you can complete the process mostly on your own. Some trademarks are well and truly dead, meaning they are unable to be "revived" by the filing entity, because they chose not to file a Declaration of Use with the Patent Office (must be done periodically for continued usage). http://teas.uspto.gov/postreg/sect08 Trademarkia is much like LegalZoom in that it allows you to undergo the process of submitting a trademark of your own for active use, or reviving a dead mark- although the latter is more complicated and often more trouble than it's worth.
  5. I was gonna say, they look orangeish from the photos, but I couldn't be completely sure, haha. Orange usually indicates the presence of underground utilities or telecom. Edit: Now that I look further, they do look more pink than orange..
  6. If anyone sees new markers, let us know what colors they are. Thanks
  7. Probably on some sort of tour, I would venture to guess. Running for the door now
  8. And just to reiterate, Gold Pass holders can use any open lane. The Gold lanes are there mainly to prioritize Gold Pass holder entry during peak times.
  9. I would be very interested to have a definitive answer to this question as well. My company has a corporate affiliate portal on the Accesso website, as many other companies locally do also, for buying discounted tickets. This is one of the selections: Funny thing is, It's not an option on the GP facing store. Just an affiliate option. There's also this: http://eshop.ohio.aaa.com/index.php/kings-island-ride-refresh-adult.html But is this..a thing for the '16 season? Or is it not? hmm.
  10. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/09/tron-roller-coaster-shanghai-disneyland Made by "Vekona" according to the EW article Check out the POV though. Looks pretty awesome.
  11. Major Key DJ Khaled This thread is starting to move in circles
  12. Pulling out of the park this evening just prior to close, heading northbound on KI Drive, I caught the red light at Great Wolf Drive. Weird thing was, before the lights went green we got a left green arrow- into the now demolished empty lot of the KI Resort and conference center.. Then after the arrow everything went flashing yellow. It just seemed like an unnecessary light progression. Sent from my Pip-Boy 3000 via Tapatalk
  13. Don't forget the implementation of park-wide wi-fi last year. I don't use it as I have unlimited data, but it works great, and seems to cement in my mind the image of a very mobile-friendly park. Phone usage in the park? No problem. But when you're in the queue, be prepared to put it away. Its just common sense.
  14. Soarin' Over California Ohio Edit: I think more than anything I'm just desperate for KI to get a great dark ride. We need one!
  15. When I read this, my first thought was that they would ride, not the swings, but the maintenance platform in the center of the gondola, like the workers in this image. There's a small "balcony" that goes all the way around. Indeed, next time you're on WindSeeker, look for streaks, smileys, or random squiggles fingered into the dust on the tower...caused by someone riding the platform up or down and holding their hands to the tower as they ascend or descend. I was flabbergasted the first time I saw it!
  16. Everyone always mentions the 5 year plan. There is no 5 year plan. It's literally just a business forecast of a rolling 5 year period. Thusly, every year there will be an updated "5 year plan". Not a solid indicator for if its our "turn" to get a coaster or even if we'll get a coaster in any given year. There are plenty of other tangible factors that we can use to make informed guesses. 17. Being in the business of PR I'd imagine you'd have to be well versed in your millennialisms. Sent from my Pip-Boy 3000 via Tapatalk
  18. I love the speculation on the snapchat, but the "major key" phrase was in reference to a catchphrase started by DJ Khaled. For awhile he would snap pictures illustrating his path to success and caption "major (key emoji)". It was a running gag and popular joke around the Internet. I think he still does it. 19. I wanted to point something out, I wasn't sure it had been mentioned. On Friday as I rode the RR it looked as though KI have pulled most if not all the water pumps from WWC, they were laying side by side with what looked to be new ones. They could be refurbishing existing pumps, or installing all new ones..either way, its great to see rides, WWC in particular, getting needed maintenance and TLC. Looking forward to getting drenched on WWC this summer
  20. I've not yet been able to get Apple Watch to scan at parking or at admissions. While certainly convenient to have on the watch, pulling the pass up on the spot, and then having to worry about the screen going dark when you turn your wrist (admissions scanners are embedded on a flat surface like at the grocery store, making watch scanning nigh on impossible from having to flip your wrist down) presents logistical issues. At least for me. How convenient is *too* convenient? I did notice that when I went to scan my physical pass at parking, it seems I was holding it too close to the scanner. I think it likes a bit of distance, once I pulled my pass away from the reader it immediately scanned. Sent from my Pip-Boy 3000 via Tapatalk
  21. There are many factors that point to KI getting a new attraction, soon, no matter what it may eventually be. However, having been to the park yesterday and seeing everything for myself, for right now I'm interpreting the fence for what it is. A fence. Ok but hear me out though. No matter what teasers or behind the scenes work at the park we are currently aware of, we know there is a fence in front of a currently vacant space. And we know that /something/ will certainly have to go there. That's prime space right on the footpath. It's not gonna stay bare very long. Riding the RR around the park I could see signs of other brush being cleared, which could be routine, or could be the start of (let's hope) something bigger. Is this really a teaser? Is this all part of a plan to lead up to a reveal? My take on all of this is, they had to put up a fence to restrict access to the vacant area either way. There are butt bins hung on the fence with benches, so it's a smoking area and likely to be there for a relatively long time. As for the "falling trees" signs, they are quite large and prominent. No way at all to miss them. What I'm not sure of, is this: did they put up those signs just to mess with people? Is there even anything there we can read into? Time will definitely tell. My gut feeling is that this will ultimately lead up to a big reveal. As for what I saw yesterday, there's not much to tell that hasn't already been mentioned. Survey markers are apparent. Beyond that, I'm not going to definitively throw my hat into the ring until construction begins. Fingers crossed! Sent from my Pip-Boy 3000 via Tapatalk
