  1. i would think they would use sheet pile if they were doing a retaining wall?
  2. So i am beginning to wonder if what was submitted is only to get approval for the foundation/footers in the "area of work" section, and the rest of the layout is just a generic representation? Why would the plans have the "area of work" highlighted, but none of the other areas?
  3. What has me confused, is the clearing where the excavator is sitting doesnt line up to anything on the leaked layout that i can see. as well as the clearing at the bend where the train is pulling into the station.
  4. Them mentioning a new "Son of Beast" could just be the PR department screwing with those on this forum. Just to see how long it takes for something that is mentioned in the park, to make it to these boards, and how, once here, explodes!!!
  5. Still curious where that green track sitting a csf is headed....
  6. The thing that gets me though, is the fact the filed it under "Kings Island 2017 Project"? Is this how they have submitted other ride plans? Banshee, Diamondback?
  7. Something like this, through narrow paths in the woods would be a lot of fun.
  8. I was thinking this as well, but like mentioned, this does not show scale or details. This is simply showing the layout, and what will happen in each "zone" there could possibly be more information to be had on these plans, but without seeing them???
  9. Both wood and water are on the trains, been a while since i have been to KI, but arent the trains steam powered? Also regarding the "Never mind what's under the railway bridge" comment, isnt the bridge made of wood?
  10. Maybe these "keys" will make up some of what the new ride will have? The Diamondback ones show the drop, and the splashdown. I have not seen the Firehawk snap yet, but possibly flying?
  11. i cant find the post now, but i remember reading that someone spoke with someone that is working on cutting down the trees saying they are cutting paths and pads basically, which i think got the DA move theory going, but this could also be for coaster supports. If they are not bulldozing the entire site flat, a coaster would require paths and pads???
  12. Perhaps the picture of diamond back is saying the key to seeing what is happening is from riding it?
  13. flume ride kind of makes sense, with the rumors of RFYLCB leaving, the pictures posted of it, the new pumps for WWC (maybe they are not just new pumps, possibly higher capacity to support another ride?) I know RFYLCB stores its own water, maybe the new ride will pull from the WWC pond?
  14. I dont think it has anything to do with electricity, there is already a line feeding into the park from that substation, i would think it would be far cheaper, and easier to widen the current path, and or under build a new feeder. Does anyone know where in the park the power is fed to, then distributed? I can see power lines running into the park by WWC, and up buy the building near the front of Soak City.
  15. also have to remember that temps will make a difference, cooler temps will cause larger tolerances, once the steel warms up these will close, and cause the ride to be smoother.
  16. even if it is in great shape, it is how much $$$ it takes to keep it that way.
  17. kind of off topic, but, looking at google maps or bing, i would say if Vortex is taken out at some point, a new giga could go there going out and behind The Racer.
  18. Hello, i just joined, but have been reading through these pages for some time. What if it is a flume ride, which would explain the select trees being cut down, in what appears to be straight lines, could explain the rumors of rfylcb going away, and could possibly explain why the reservoir WWC has been drained (preparations for another ride using water from the same reservoir)
