  1. Isn't this just a re-hash of an existing thread? http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/32269-decoding-episode-25-bonus-round-second-announcement/
  2. Nah, there's a silent majority group on here who stands with you. We just chuckle to ourselves at other's expense
  3. Do we? Are you going to police people in-line as they refer to the coaster? Not looking forward to the back and forth chants: "MT", "Mysti", "MT", "Mysti"... This all just reads like people are sour about the name.
  4. The season is nearing the end...your "opinion" is a little dated. Get off your butt and go ride it for crying out loud.
  5. This topic reminds me of a question I've always wanted to ask... Is there a method to ignore or completely hide a thread on KIC? I like to use the "View New Content" option, but it would be nice if there was a way to completely suppress certain topics/threads that aren't of interest.
  6. Yep, I was there Monday/Tuesday. The up/down of the curtains occurred both days. From the boardwalk you could see the workers painting behind the curtains.
  7. At the Point today, in line for Maverick. Going to head over there next.
  8. Not that I'm part of the PC crowd. But thinking about all of the recent mascot/team renaming, I would doubt if Native American Indian names are even in the running...
  9. I doubt it will be a launched coaster as well. I hope they get the bugs worked out for LR though. I would love to see something like that at KI in the future. That ride looks amazingly intense! On sheet S2.3 of the project plans filed back in June there is detail for "MOTOR BLOCK FOUNDATION PLAN". I think based upon that a lift hill is a given.
  10. ^^ I've heard this argument before, but I've not heard any substance to back-up the differences. I've been to the Dent Schoolhouse, supposedly a renowned "haunt" destination. Now this is just MY perspective, but I'll openly admit I don't see much difference between going through the schoolhouse, and going through various attractions at KI. Of course the KI attractions are a bit shorter (as there are more), and there is various theming. But you have to admit, there are a lot of similarities... I'm not a big haunt person, I just enjoy going with friends and getting the occasional scare. I'm always more interesting in looking at how they did the special effects. Just one person's perspective...don't hate me.
  11. I've seen Terp's posts in other topics recently... But the saying early on in this thread still rings true..."Those who know, do not speak. Those who don't know, speak"
  12. according to Hoover http://frtw.com/?q=exteriorfirex Shows the specs and uses of this wood. Rollercoasters is not in the list for uses, not all wood makes good use for coaster construction, but certainly could be used for other things that will be apart of project 2k17. Can we not quote pictures please We would really need a clear picture of the green tags to tell the exact specs for the lumber bundle. Using the wrapping logo solely to determine the appropriate usage is a bit of a stretch. The product line in general meets a wide range of standards listed from AWPA, NFPA, UL, DOD Mil spec, etc. This isn't your home-store grade lumber.
  13. Agreed. Not sure if I the pictures in this thread or others, but the vines are already growing up the sides nicely.
  14. Getting excited about the upcoming announcement I know this topic is getting a bit lengthy, so to help-out those trying to come up to speed...some things that we know: 1. Something new is coming in 2017! 2. WWC path was moved, Funnel Cake stand was moved, fence built, all indications imply for this project. 3. What started out as selective tree cutting has turned into a major effort in the woods around the train and WWC. This is not a complete land clearing, attempts appear to be made keeping as much vegetation as possible. 4. Plans were filed with local government indicating footer and various pad designs for a specific "area of work" for this project. The project overview in these plans also show this to be a roller-coaster of some sort. We do not have the full plans of the design. Leading to many various discussions on the type of coaster (manufacturer, etc). 5. Based upon the plans, with the KI coordinates, many have generated various coaster layouts and posted to this forum. 6. In interviews, KI has not denied implications of a roller-coaster when referring to this project. 7. In the plans there is verbiage indicating a bridge/span of some sort. 8. Work was done to create a retaining wall alongside the train tracks, next to the pond. 9. Various paths have been created for heavy machinery, temporary movable wooden protectors over the new WWC path, etc. All implying further large construction work. 10. Based upon clearings, plans, hints, it does appear this coaster interacts with WWC, the pond, and the train. 11. Common theme from KI regarding trees, logs, woods, etc. 12. Unused train station grassy area has been converted to a gravel staging area. 13. Large bundles of what appears to be exterior fire retardant treated wood has shown up. I'd love for others to elaborate more on the 'knowns' of this project, I'm sure I don't have it all covered.
  15. ^ Wow, that's awesome news! Thanks for asking, and nice that KI responded so quickly.
  16. Need some footers before a big pile of wood. No reason to have stacks of stuff sitting around of you don't have the space. Judging by how the materials showed up just-in-time for the retaining wall, I expect a well-oiled construction schedule here.
  17. Polite request: can we please not include the original pictures when replying to posts. Thanks
  18. From all of the visits I've had this year, I wouldn't say ridership was ever "down". It's one of my wife's favorite rides Lot of speculation here, anyone ask or get a word from someone at the park?
  19. And a big thanks to everyone who is re-posting the content here for those of us who can't keep up! Very much appreciated !!
  20. Opinions are like... What some enjoy others don't care for. Just glad we have these two parks nearby with a decent variety of coasters!
  21. Or what's left of it after the deforestation. Really? From the selective cutting that has been performed so far I would think deforestation is a bit over-the-top. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=deforestation If a tree falls in the forest, does the person riding in the front seat care? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=tree+falls+roller+coaster
  22. They have the Excavator/Trackhoe over in the old WWC queue now. Pics in a moment. Thanks for taking the time to upload! Not really wanting to think about snow/winter just yet
