  1. I have no idea then. I was reading an interview with some of the kids that were hurt. They said the last up swing before it came down and broke, They swung up way higher then normal.
  2. Would any of those metals fail like that with some rust? I don't know metals like that haha
  3. I would think the sweep components would be a big deal since the sweeps are part of the ride itself right? Not that it effected this accident or cause it. I hear them keep saying the sweeps connected to the gondola.
  4. I hope they return. Growing up that was one of my favorite rides. CP could remove the one in FT ship it to KI and they have more room in their efforts to expand the FT part of the park. Hearing people toss around a stagecoach ride for FT at CP.
  5. That really sucks if that is true. I really hope they change there minds. B&M are alright. If I want a real rush / thrill i'd go intamin. I know most of the time I am alone on the whole debate. I just hope to god to see another Intamin in a close CF park. Preferably CP or KI.
  6. The question is not if but when. I mean come on Carowinds has a Giga haha. Also the question is Intamin or B&M. I know a lot of people dislike Intamin. But in my point of view being I have been on Fury 325 and Mill Force. Fury doesn't come close to Mill Force. Id love to have an Intamin Giga at KI.
  7. Yeah For some reason they are rude on that site. Oh well. Of course if it was then that's a problem m they just tried to cover up. If it was metal fatigue, This goes back to how well do that go in depth for an inspection. These rides should go through an in depth inspection to catch this stuff before it happens. Metal is strong but it also ages.
  8. Yeah I was one who thought I saw rust. I brought it up on a forum on the Carowinds page and I have about 4 people hounding me that it was not rust but a clean break due to metal fatigue. I dunno It looked sorta rusty but it could be my eyes.
  9. Vortex is one rough ride. It used to be my second favorite coaster in the park. I can't ride it anymore. I get a headache everytime I do. Its needs some work or removed. There is your spot for a Hypercoaster!
  10. Go Figure. They should of taken it out of commission. But then it passes inspection here in Ohio....so weird.
  11. Good question. They are state employees. Then also the amusement company inspects them as well.
  12. I'd be all for the relocation of one of CP's car rides to KI.
  13. I mean just watching the video it seems as if it did. I mean that kinda of break doesn't warrant that it simply just broke off. I feel it hit the side. Could be wrong. Seems to be more then it just simply falling off. How do we know anything.............. your guess is as good as mine at this point.
  14. Something had to make the ride hang lower right after that up swing because all of the other rides and the start of this cycle were making it over that side railing. Something had to of broke loose and it sank lower then normal on that last down swing. It had to hit with so much force to break that metal off like that and not just bend it.
  15. Yeah I know permanent parks do this with all their rides. I wonder about this set up/ tear down rides. They probably set up / tear down all year around. I wonder if there is a time where they take rides out of commission to inspect.
  16. Yeah from the pic someone shared above. The metal looks to have just failed. Looks sorta or rusted. I wonder if they ever do a comprehensive inspection looking for weak spots in the metal.
  17. You ever think a Cedar Fair park will rehab / rebuild rides. I do recall Universal Studios completely rebuilt Hulk. Could you see any of our parks doing something like that for popular rides?
