  1. We've done several all day trips this summer with the intention of finishing the day by riding it at night. But when you get there when the park opens and ride 50+ rides all day, you just run out of gas. I'll be checking the weather pretty closely for tomorrow in hopes it's decent enough to go.
  2. Can't wait to take the kids on their 1st night ride of The Beast!!
  3. Love it, always have and always will. It has such character to it. Nothing beats a good old woodie.
  4. I don't recall the exact wordage, but the ride op's on The Racer said something along the lines of "This is the only ride where you'll hear music older than the actual ride...The Racer". Which makes sense because I noticed they play mostly classic rock in that line when you get close (not the FunTV but the station itself) as opposed to the usual new pop stuff you all across the park.
  5. I'm assume it wouldn't benefit the parks, but why not post historical average attendances on certain days? I know you can guess using certain variables (promotions, day of week, weather, etc.), but more astute pass holders or general public might be more inclined to go more often if they know a certain day traditionally brings less people, or a certain day is anticipated to be less busy. Obviously the busy days would not benefit from this being out, but I really wonder if the majority of visitors really factor this in when they decide to go.
  6. A quick google search shows opinions say it is either crazy crowded, or not too bad. A lot of "you'd be surprised but Labor Day weekend isn't that bad". Not sure what to believe. I'm guessing early Friday and Monday would be best, but what do I know. I do know I'm sure as hell not waiting for $1.00 pizza...that sounds dumb. On a somewhat related note, I remember leaving a Reds game a few years back during a $1.00 hot dog promotion, and people were leaving with handfuls of hot dogs. Why?!?!
  7. Thanks for the input, you guys are great. This site has really helped enhance my KI experience this year and for that I am very appreciative.
  8. Thanks! I don't mind loud noises, theming, etc. I just don't care for random teenagers dressed up as zombies bugging us, and I that's sort of the impression I get seeing the promos.
  9. Quick question, I'm really not into Halloween, haunted houses, etc. Me and the kids just like riding rides. I can't find any official information on this, so I thought I'd ask the pros on here... Are most rides / coasters open? Long lines usually? Can you just go, ride a bunch of rides without messing with the Halloween stuff? Is it a reasonable expectation to just be able to ignore all that and ride?
  10. I don't really care about the food lines. The gluttony Voicetek describes seems pretty gross though. I just want to go to for the rides...is it busier that a usual weekend day on this weekend?
  11. How do I convince myself and my wife to take my kids out of school to hit KI without massive lines sometime next week?
  12. I went Saturday and Sunday. Extremely busy. We left early on Sunday. Too darn hot and tired to wait 1+ hours per coaster. I made the mistake of checking out the live stream as I sit behind my desk, sorting papers and answering emails. ZERO lines for Diamondback and Banshee...others probably the same. Work and school are over rated!
  13. And I love that they still play the original video (slightly altered). It just screams "90's" and is so radical.
  14. I worked there the year it opened, and was on some of the earliest rides. It will hold a special place for me. Plus the whole "90's / X-Files" theme that was so popular at that time really gives it even more nostalgia for me. The ride was great, and still is. #3 for me, but the lines make it hard to justify riding usually. I went a couple Tuesdays ago with my 2 sons, got there for the ERT, and we were the first riders of the day...the only 3 on the 1st launch! Front seat for them, seat #2 for me. We rode it 4 times in a row with no wait. Could have rode it several more times but did Firehawk instead. The kids loved it and it was one of the best moments of the summer for me as a dad.
  15. Updated train theme-ing would be great. To hear the same songs on every ride, the same tired jokes...no thanks.
  16. Not exactly playlist, but I hear the Superman movie score (the 1978 "good" movie score by John Williams), and Star Trek TNG while on WindSeeker.
  17. We shall see tomorrow night!
  18. The land where the old Days of Thunder / James Bond indoor ride is really flat and relatively underdeveloped. I wonder if that would be an option for a dark ride? Take a look at that area next time you ride WindSeeker and you can see there is a lot of area that could be used. Although it looks like that building is now being used as a maintenance area.
  19. A dark ride is needed, and there is the empty Crypt building...so my bet would be that. I may be in the minority, but I think this "zombie" fad seems to be a little long in the tooth. If they invested in something like that, imo, it would run the risk of being dated shortly after investment. I'd love to see something near The Bat, but the landscape may not allow it. That ride requires such a long hike to get to.
  20. Awesome, thanks for the tip. I have been wanting to take my boys on a Beast night ride, Saturday seems like a perfect time to try.
  21. Yes they still shoot fireworks at 10:00 even though they are open till Midnight. [emoji3]Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Good to know...thanks for your help!
  22. Do they set off fireworks at midnight on Saturday since they are open until then? And not 10pm? I'm assuming yes but wanted to confirm with the experts. I did not see an answer on their official website.
  23. I haven't had passes in years until this year, and I used to work there. I love going there and bringing my kids, so much fun and nostalgia. I hope this doesn't sound too elitist or rude. Is it just me, or is there a disproportionate amount of really trashy people in the park? I'm talking smoking, vulgarity, severe lack of clothing that just screams "no shame". To each his own and all that, but when I am in a public place with my kids, I don't want them to see / her / inhale that nonsense. It's been a few years since I've gone a lot, so maybe it is just a cultural norm at this point.
  24. It seems like Banshee and Diamondback dispatchers are top notch. I've been there 5 times this year and each time you can tell that they are really trying hard. Other coasters not so much. I try to compliment them on that and they seem to appreciate that people notice it.
  25. Well they also gave us the car from Wayne's World to look at in the Paramount's walk of fame. That was pretty sweet.
