  1. I was at the park today, and SOB was open and running both trains. I rode in the blue train. I hit Firehawk first thing when the park opened. Both trains and both stations were being utilized, but seats were being assigned. I got lucky with a front row ride though!
  2. The new train looks nice, but I did like the old color scheme too. They at least had a little "theme" to them with the whole Perimeter Surveillance Vehicle (PSV) thing on the sides. Hopefully the new ones give a much better ride!
  3. Elmer Fudd is right, King Cobra was indeed for sale on that website. I dug up the page from Feb. 2002 on archive.org. The asking price was 1.1 mil, and I doubt that the trains alone would go for that. It is listed as number C7, "Stand up loop coaster." Check it out. http://web.archive.org/web/20020201203017/...aster/index.htm
  4. Legend Rider, Kudos to your improved grammar and ENG100 on the hill!! I'm a former hilltopper and O'boro native as well. Good to see people from home on here. As far as the Beech Bend woodie goes, I'm glad to see them get something more substantial and that isn't trailer mounted! Hopefully they will grow into a better park.
  5. I went to Opryland many times as a kid. In fact, Wabash Cannonball was my first steel coaster. They had a neat little collection of rides. Chaos was a really interesting coaster - it was a Vekoma Illusion, and had 40 car trains! I think there is another one in operation like it at Bobbejaanland in Belgium. Rock n' Roller Coaster (Arrow mine train) was finally relocated to the Great Escape as Canyon Blaster a few years ago, and Hangman was relocated quickly to Six Flags Marine World as Kong. Check out www.rcdb.com to learn more about their coasters.
  6. I'm glad to see some older people as well. I'm 25 and often feel out of place. Its good to know we have a more diverse group than I once thought.
  7. Chang is definitely the star attraction of this park, and it never gets the attention it deserves. A better ride than Mantis at CP, but was quickly trumped by Riddler's Revenge at SFMM and is unfortunately often forgotten. Also be sure to catch Greezed Lightnin' and Hellevator. Enjoy!
  8. When I was at SFKK on June 30, they had both the sponge bob billboard and the scooby billboard pretty much as soon as you pull out of the parking lot. I thought that was pretty funny.

    Face/Off

I was there on Monday 6/16, and while waiting in line for Face/Off the brakes caught the train just before it began to climb the second lift. It made it about half way up, came back down, half way through the loop, then vallied between the loop and the 2nd lift. The ride was closed and people were unloaded car by car. Is this a common occurrence? I've heard this is a common problem with Vekoma boomerangs, but had never heard of this happening with Face/Off.
  10. I was there on Monday 6/16, and TR was running. Everything seemed to be working fine.
