Ride spieling thoughts?
King Ding Dong replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I have never seen them do the dough, but the rest seems to rather traditional. They have done several special requests for me. Maybe the take n bake are robots. King - don't mess with my Costco. -
Mind over matter, mind over matter, rinse repeat.

Riding Screaming Eagle at SFSTL with my oldest once he was tall enough was the best. Fortunately we didn't have to wait 2 hours for it like I did in 1976.

Yeah that FAQ is a bit simplistic. How is the photographer going to match up the photo with my Pass, he doesn't know who I am. There is nothing automatic about it, the photographer hands you a card with a QR code linked to the photo. That code needs to be linked to the account/pass. The photographer could scan my pass but then they would loose out to those who don't have a pass and impulse buy the photos. Facial recognition software would be awesome but that takes some serious processing power.

I agree but I am sure the capital expense and staffing of those booths is expensive. They also don't have many roving photographers from my little experience at KI and CP. None on my 2 trips to the dry and wet parks at KI. Yesterday CP had a tons on entering and one by Valravn but that was it. In contrast at SFSTL they were everywhere, even wading in the lazy river to catch you at your not so finest. Annoying if you don't have the pass, great if you do. I had issues with getting my account linked up with the season pass and app but about 10 minutes with a supervisor and they were able to straighten it out. The system seems a bit complex for the first teir employees to understand. It would also be nice if you could add your roving photo cards to your account from a kiosk so you didn't have to wait for a human to scan them at the end of the day.

Costco is a great example. Night and day difference between Walmart/Sams. There are exceptions and I have experienced some excellent Walmart/Sams employees but far to frequently I am disappointed. -
May your armpits be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.

That kind of nonsense is for a girlfriend not a wife. (Going on 21 years this September)

At the moment looks like south to north so planning on heading north early for 1/2 day at CP. Will decide in the morning. King - CP virgin.

I will get flamed for this but I really didn't care for the movie. The only way I would wait 5 hours for anything was if my dentist was with me and had a couple of tanks of N2O with him. -
^yep. Wings on airplanes flex, buildings sway (especially earthquake resistant ones). Think of it like a shock absorber on your car. If the metal or wood were inflexible it would eventually fail from stress fractures. They also need to be flexible due to changes in temperature, why your driveway and sidewalk have expansion joints. I watched one coaster tv show and they slowmo-ed a woodie going around a high turn and the structure actually flexed 2 feet.

^ I saw a few people getting refills at the bar around the corner if the main concession stand. Don't know if they were slow and just being nice or if it is policy.

SFSTL was my home park until we moved to Columbus last year. Been going since it opened in 72 when I was 5. It sure has had its ups and downs like many parks have had. Certainly more effort was put into theming, landscaping and maintenance when I was a kid. It's not a bad park and certainly better than no park at all, it just isn't in the same league as what you have here in OH and doesn't really have anything to make it a destination. Glad you had at least an OK trip. For locals a $55 Season Pass + $80 Season Dining Pass we sure got a lot of bang for our buck. The past few years my boys and I went at least two times a week in the summer but spent 80% of our time in the water park. It was only 20 minutes away. We moved right before Justice League opened, but from what I have read Sally still can't get the bugs worked out of it. Btw the mine train used to have two tracks but one was taken out at some point, you can still see portions of it. Hope to have our first CP experience tommorow or Thursday.

^^ oops I didn't read the fine print. I figured with a platinum pass and season funpix it would work at CP. Disappointing.

Yes. Once you save them to your phone from the app, print all you want.I just wish you could get the photo without all the cheesy "fun" added to it.

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Oh my, that is quite the handful you have there. Triplets? -
SFSTL had wristbands you could load money on for whatever you wanted and I thought that was a great program but we never used it. I buy the meal plans and all season drink cups and am then done except for ice cream. Broke my boys of the game envy a few years ago. Sure I will give you money for a couple of games, but I won't have any money to buy ice cream later. I have occasionally given them a few dollars for skeeball. They are smart enough not to blow their OWN money on a ring toss. As far as arcade games go, they know their money is much better spent on Steam or Humble Bundle sales especially since Dad has a sickness and likes to build really powerful computers.

^ It pains me greatly to say this but I know what Mr. Avery would have to say to this person and I would tend to agree.

I work for Giant Eagle as my second job up in Akron, and it seems like a lot of things happen at the grocery store. People find lost people they haven't seen in forever or they find a product they've been looking for. I'm going to add that to the list. I know you don't know me dude, but I'm proud of you! So very true. I suspect my 2nd son was conceived on the radishes.
