  1. Just a thought. If the whole thing is hidden in the woods the negative aesthetics of the steel supports would be minimized.
  2. My Father would have showed me the wrong end of a belt if I ever tried that one.
  3. I don't know, man. They put a lot of good information out there (this time) so they can't be that bad. Would you pick Buzz over TPR? I mean, that's the big two... Let's just say I used to be a staff member there, and the behind the scenes crap is beyond idiotic. If y'all wonder why I can pull up info on coasters/parks so quickly, its because I did loads of research being a news and editorial writer over there as well as writing a few rides and park pages (all of which have been changed and/or removed since my departure). As Forrest Gump would say- That's all I have to say about that. Ha.I received a permanent ban today on TPR for the offense of posting "Perhaps calling people stupid and idiots is not helpful to the discussion. I rarely find them persuasive." In one post and that was it. Some unnamed entusiast from Orlando was ranting about the WDW alligator incident. Everyone who disagreed with him was a moron, stupid or an ******* idiot. So he deleted my post, banned me and continued to rant. Then later this afternoon all the posts in that thread after the incident were deleted. Me thinks someone's wife got home and wasn't to happy.
  4. Maybe a decoding of the lyrics will reveal something There's a garden, what a garden Only happy faces bloom there And there's never any room there For a worry or a gloom there Oh there's music and there's dancing And a lot of sweet romancing When they play the polka They all get in the swing Every time they hear that Everybody feels so They want to throw their cares away They all go Then they hear a rumble on the floor, the floor It's the big surprise they're waiting for And all the couples form a ring For miles around you'll hear them sing Roll out the barrel, we'll have a barrel of fun Roll out the barrel, we've got the blues on the run Zing boom tararrel, ring out a song of good cheer Now's the time to roll the barrel, for the gang's all here Then they hear a rumble on the floor-or-or-or It's the big surprise they're waiting for And all the couples they form a ring For miles around you'll hear them sing Roll it out, roll it out, roll out the barrel Sing a song of good cheer Cause the whole gang is here Roll it out, roll it out Let's do the beer barrel polka For your pleasure. Free of charge. OR That barrel is a Powder Keg. SDC has a coaster by that name and also one built by....
  5. Basketballs. Maybe, please? At least hand them out deflated.
  6. I have two boys with ASD (and ADHD). Finding this info last week was what clinched the deal for buying Platinum passes. My hats off to CF for being understanding and accommodating. Both boys react differently to lines but the result is similar, we just can't do long lines without the risk of unpleasant consequences. One boy can handle the wait but the confined space and close proximity to others inevitably results in a bump or stepped on foot with a likely resulting emotional breakdown that can at times be severe. The other one just can't stand still and keep to his own personal space, a portable video game can help in these situations but the pressure just builds and becomes one of "those kids" that makes it very unpleasant for everyone else in line. Put them both together and nothing good can come of that. It is important to realize we don't not expect or want special privileges and more importantly reduced wait times. The system seems very fair to me as we have to wait the same amount as everyone else but can do so outside of the que for the better enjoyment of everyone. My only concern is those that would abuse the system. It is difficult to give advise to others becuase everyone on the spectrum is different. For our family planning shorter more frequent trips seems to work well. About 4 hours seems to be a good trip for us, any longer and I notice things going downhill rapidly. Taking your time and not trying to fit it all in is also key. Letting the boys drive the agenda also helps greatly with each taking turns in picking what to do next. This tends to lead to an inefficient trip with crisscrossing the park frequently but arming them with maps and explaining that their decision means a long walk helps.
  7. Speaking of the Kings app I tried it out last visit and it sucked my battery dry. In IOS it insists on using location services even when not using the app so I found I had to force close it or toggle location services every time I use it. I tried setting permissions to only when using the app but the app does not like that. This is really a PITA. I suppose their anaylitics wants to track your traffic around the park, and I am fine with that in theory, but with GPS constantly on you only have about 3 hours of power and I really don't want to lug around one of my battery backups. Any advise on settings or how to deal with this?
  8. Thanks, glad I found this place. You to Silver2005.Bought 3 platinum passes and 2 meal plans for my 2 boys and me. The plan is to hit KI or CP at least once a week this summer. Mom might make it once or twice. Another question, from the maps and website it looks like the Soak City at CP is rather minimal, is that a correct assumption?
  9. I am new to the area and tomorrow may be my second KI visit. Probably will go for a few rides in the morning and then take my boys to Soak City. Can you enter it from KI or do you need to exit and walk/drive around? Also how does the lazy river work? Once and done or can you keep going? I have not been to many water parks but SFSTL had a tube rental that allowed you to stay on the river indefinitely.
  10. No basketballs? I am so there!
