  1. Never stayed at Breakers and likely never will. Much prefer a 20 minute drive to a $100 hotel room when we stay overnight and a much larger choice of dinning options (and free breakfast).
  2. I have a bunch of those animal movies on my server I am behind on. 9 Lives with Walken, A Dogs Journey, etc. It is kind of like my Steam library, there are more games I haven’t played than ones I have played.
  3. See, I was wondering if they were just deep fried jalapeños.
  4. What about the Afterburner Fries? Is it just a name like Freedom Fries or are they unique in some way?
  5. That looks more like a specimen collection glass. Cheers.
  6. For the moment the order has been blocked by a judge. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/09/politics/kentucky-circuit-judge-coronavirus-orders-masks/index.html
  7. I beleive the order also bans screaming and chewing ice. (While wearing a mask)
  8. Opening Day at CP is always a disaster. It seems to take a week or two for things to start gelling there. Personally I would wait until the 18th/19th.
  9. Not walking anything back. Boots on the ground means exactly what I said. You are right, we clearly are not going to have robust contact tracing. So unlike other 1st world countries like in Europe we will just have to live with exponential growth rates for the foreseeable future and our economy will not be able to recover for a very long time. Except in Indiana, you guys are immune to these issues, just like Texas, Florida and Arizona thought they were. “There is no functioning economy unless we control the virus” -Some dude from SC.
  10. What part has you so intimidated? Boots? We wear boots all the time when walking long distances, especially when unsure of the terrain. Sneakers, sandals, mules, pumps, flats makes no difference to me, the point is tracers out in the field talking to people not leaving voice mails. Badges? Well, I guess that might intimidate you. Didn’t figure you were that type though. Subpoenas? Only if you do not cooperate. I take it you are a conscientious objector?
  11. Yes, judges use civil fines to encourage compliance all the time, jail is not the only option. Do you hear your callous disregard for life?
  12. Failure to cooperate with contact tracing should result in steep civil fines. IMO.
  13. There you go again...putting words in my mouth. Where did I say “lock people up”? Please quote.
  14. Also Fauci: The infectious disease expert said it was "a false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of death," before adding: "There's so many other things that are very dangerous and very bad about this virus. https://www.newsweek.com/fauci-warns-complacency-covid-trump-schools-1516163 Oh, and yes they want the schools open as does every single person in every state. You fail to mention they want them open safely. Which requires financial resources they do not have. So....the CDC is going to have its recommendations changed by the administration. https://www.washingtonp
  15. I wouldn’t call the this a “sharp downward line” over the past three weeks. Would you?
  16. So how has our (non)method been working out? Have any success stories to tell us that have lowered the spread?
  17. Um. What contact tracing? Phone banks are not contact tracing, contact tracing is boots on the ground with badges and subpoenas. “It’s not going well. I have to tell you, it’s not going well,” Fauci said in an interview with CNBC’s Meg Tirrell https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/26/coronavirus-contact-tracing-is-not-going-well-fauci-says.html
  18. I might get this one if we decide to go to the park.
  19. I don’t understand this. It seems infinitely more difficult to SD in a waterpark than dry. Specifically a lazy river and wave pool. The towers seem possible if they severely limit the number of kids allowed up the stairs at a time. Slides are mostly kids and without supervision tend bunch up on the steps.
  20. This right here. Also mask or no mask with these levels of humidity and 90F+ days it is miserable outside especially if one is not acclimated to it which many of us are not because we haven’t been spending as much time outside doing stuff as we normally would. I bet the employees are even more miserable than the guests but are probably not allowed to post about it.
  21. On top of the risk to faculty and staff my big question is at what point is a teen more like an adult than a kid in regards to the transmission? My 14yo is most definitely adult sized now (200lbs+), but my 17yo is 109lbs. I am really leaning towards online classes as much as possible for my boys until we have more data on this. ELA, Foreign Language and labs for science classes in person would be my preference at this point. Some/most kids would probably benefit from math in person as well, but mine don’t need it. Elementary School is going to be a giant experiment with few controls.
  22. Weather permitting half and half or some ratio is our preferred day at the park. Another location wouldn’t be a big problem if it wasn’t far away but some families like to split up and one parent stay in the waterpark with the little ones while another rides coasters with the older kids.
