Maybe, maybe not. Steel Vengeance, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster have been down repeatedly during my six CP visits this year.

They always have been.  Attendance shows their strategy of steel coasters has been working out very well for them.  How’s The Beast?

With The Beast at KI down last weekend, I drove to CP for a change. CP has phenomenal steel/hybrid coasters, but lousy wooden coasters. Looking forward to visiting KI again this coming weekend. And a night ride on The Beast.

What are the names of these wooden coasters at CP you speak of?

You underestimate the power of the GP looking to break a news story LOL.  "I saw a beast train go up the first lift hill full of passengers and when it arrived on the 2nd hill none were there"

They exited the ride at The Beast Soak City Station.

So what will be next to combat those that don't follow the rules, do they tighten up the metal detectors so that not even a vape stick can get past and prohibit anyone from entering with a vape stick, pack of cigs, and lighters and matches?  Could be the next step.

Next step could be something like a Guest Code of Conduct Card given to each guest.  <_<

The stuff guests smoke stinks too.

Speaking of, how will they deal with the designated smoking area outside the gate and the no re-entry policy of Haunt...

Does anyone even use the designated smoking area? From what I have seen they just light up whenever and wherever they want with no repercussions.

  6. @SnowAngel You have a very good point that Carnivale is not a very accurate representation of the countries and is very cartoonish. But Carnivale, parades in general, celebration festivals, circuses, Disney parks, even Broadway plays are exaggerated and cartoonish. Seriously, who talks like they do in theatre or just starts singing and dancing in the middle of a conflict?  That is what they do. Ever seen the Sopranos episode where Tony and his gang travel to Italy to do business?  He can’t stand the food complaining everything has fish in it. If KI tried to serve true authentic cuisine, very few people would eat it.

Carnivale and things like it are not my thing either and it is only mildly amusing to me as we happen to pass by it onto our next destination.  However many people do and especially kids.  Sure a trip to Paris, Beijing, or Rio would be ideal but most of the people do not have the resources to experience the rest of the world in person, but they do enjoy a taste of it in their dwindling leisure time.

A visit it KI is not about the real world it is an escape from it.

That seems like a pretty far walk at a park that already has a lot of walking (1 mile from the front gate to SV). Is there much reason not to park further up in the overflow area on the left closer to the gate?

Also, do they let you park near Famous Dave's and the Valravn gate? (though I guess that's not open early)

I think you would be fine parking anywhere in that overflow lot but the employees will get the closer spots unless you get there really early. The lots up closer to the Marina are for dock holders only and the Marina gate is no longer open to guests for early entry.  I think that stopped with SV.

  8. This is a little crazy but watching some Olympics skateboarding, surfing, the posts about King Cobra, Black Widow and her landing stance a point of satire in the film and a few other things just came together for a new extreme sport.

    Coaster Surfing/Parkour

Could be just one car or the whole train but strip the seats off and make them a flatbed. Qualified athletes could then perform parkour type stunts playing off the different forces of each element. Some sort of structures, walls, hand and foot holds would need to included.  Obviously some sort of safety restraint would need to be engineered and that may end up require a some form of cage as a feather would just get in the way.  Might be a great use of an end of service life coaster that can’t handle the stresses of full trains but is sound enough for light duty and cycles.

  9. EE is at 9, Dragster isn’t on early entry so it opens at 10 (maybe) Not sure what time they open the main lot or if it is really closed at all. You should be able to park there by 8:30 at the latest.  Perimeter Rd. and at least one booth is open 24/7.

Pro tip: getting out of the main lot at close is a nightmare on busy days (Every day this season). If you can’t leave early best best is to be Clark and park in the overflow lot to the left and walk a bit more.  Getting out is a snap unless there is an actual jam on the causeway or on the mainland.

See all where all these smart Griswalds parked?  They are going to be home 1/2 to 1 hour earlier. One right turn and they are out on the causeway.

How have Cedar Point crowds been on Mondays this year?   Looking for a quick trip this Monday 8/2/21... TIA

I have been to one Monday and it was very busy.  So is any day that ends in Y this season. FLP lines have crept north of 1 hour occasionally on the big 5 most weekdays I have been so far.

The main lot was looking pretty good this morning when we pulled in at 10:30 but have been in CPS, will let you know about the dry park after a bit.
