  1. Is the Fast Lane entrance at FoF the single rider line? Gonna try to put some laps on her tonight since the wife went shopping. Edit : by her I meant the coaster...
  2. Can confirm. Queue is full. I hope y'-all have your FL+ passes. Edit: I almost feel bad for putting 4 laps on her in about 30 minutes while everyone else is waiting. Edit 2 : not really lol
  3. Is that the min operating temp or the min startup temp? I seem to remember a discussion last season where it was stated that the temp had to be at x degrees (I think it was 45, but not certain) to "wake up" the ride, but it could operate at lower temps once it had been woken up.
  4. I ended up going up late last night (from 11p-1a). Invertigo, Banshee, and Vortex were all closed. Each one had the chained sign across the entrance and no ride ops out front or inside the stations. In fact, the area by the restrooms and Invertigo was completely empty.
  5. KI website says it's in the low 40s. I was under the impression they could run the rides in the mid 40s, but I could be mistaken. How are crowds up there tonight?
  6. Gotcha. My mistake, I thought you were at the park.
  7. You're saying it's packed tonight? I was going to pop in late for some night rides but i can't tell crowd size from the webcam.
  8. I got mine as well. Silly question though, I registered both my wife and I using the same email address and obviously the emails weren't personalized so does that mean we're both in? Suppose I could email Don and ask, but I'd rather not bother him if someone else has the answer.
  9. Looks like tri tips is back on the menu.
  10. I know this. I'm just reporting what they've served me. I did get the email for the VP of Food and Beverage. It's a fella named Mark BXXXX (last name redacted for obvious reasons). When I get the time, I'm going to send him the pictures I took and offer my impressions. I've eaten at Coney BBQ probably 12 times and there are many shortcomings in my opinion.
  11. Loved Beavis and Butthead, still watch South Park and Simpsons on the regular. I'll have to check ye olde trusty interweb and see about this Rick and Morty.
  12. So my wife and I noticed this gem inside one of the claw machines in the arcade. I am unsure what to make of it. Is this a thing or am I having an old man get off my lawn moment. Please enlighten me.
  13. This was my brisket today. They are now slathering the brisket with BBQ sauce. I assume it is to try to keep moisture in the meat and keep it from drying out.
  14. It's pretty crowded. FOF/Beast closed. DB = 45 minutes. Mystic Timbers 45 minutes.
  15. This is what my chopped brisket looked like today. That definitely looks more like chopped brisket than what I received yesterday. It even looks different from what Liz and I got yesterday It still dries out super fast but it's definitely chopped and not shredded.
  16. The problem, at least IMO, is that the minute the meat is removed from the heat lamps it begins to cool. Waiting any length of time to "check out" allows the meat to cool even further which results in the dry, tough texture that I and a few others have reported. Edit : I should note that I've encountered this myself when I was learning to smoke meat. I dropped by guest services Friday and got the email of the VP of food and beverage and I intend to email him with my observations.
  17. Noticed this today and can't seem to figure out where Diamondback uses "brakes that squeeze the tracks surface."
  18. I said it in the other thread, but I'll say it again. Can confirm it tastes like shoe leather. Could barely get it down it was so dry.
  19. I did. But it took nearly 20 minutes to check out, so by the time I actually got to eat lunch it was about as edible as shoe leather. Also, according to the area supe, tri tips are being permanently replaced by the brisket.
  20. It appears tri tips have been replaced by "Texas Chopped Brisket."
  21. First: I'm typing on mobile so apologies for misspellings, grammar, and syntax errors. Second: If this is the wrong forum, sorry again, but it happened at KI so that's where I put it. Feel free to move it to off-topic if needed. Background: We're married, childless, and in our mid and late 30s. Our interaction and exposure to children is extremely limited. None of our combined 5 siblings have children either. So suffice it to say we're clueless. We witnessed the activity I'm about to describe yesterday (Friday) at the park and both my wife and I were disturbed and unsure of how we should've reacted. Please don't criticize our lack of reaction and inaction, I'm genuinely seeking advice on how to appropriately respond should a similar situation occur in the future. Situation: (I'm going to try to be as PC as possible here). A group of 4 teenaged young ladies were on the same ride path that my wife and I were on. 3 of them were obviously very good friends, walking together, laughing, etc. They also thought their stuff didn't stink and constantly made comments about how popular, great, pretty they were. The 4th young lady was a bit frumpier and hung back a short distance from the other 3. At each ride, the group of 3 tossed their purses, bags, drinks, belongings to the 4th girl and directed her to sit and wait while they rode. We noticed that the 4th girl didn't get to ride anything as she was holding the stuff for the rest of the group. We ended up directly behind the group of 3 girls at Delirium and overheard some of the most cruel, unkind, and disgusting comments that we later found out were directed at the 4th girl. (More on that later). They attacked her looks, what she was wearing, how they were able to boss her around, her lack of social skills, you name it. It was appalling behavior. Then one of the girls said, "if I was like Amy (not her real name) I'd kill myself." That crossed the line for me and I made a loud comment (loud enough that I was sure they would overhear) about how sad I was that I had just buried a high school classmate and friend. I did not know at that time that Amy (name changed) was the 4th girl. Fast forward to Firehawk and my wife decided to sit out while I rode. As I walk up the exit path after my ride, I see my wife sitting next to the 4th young lady and engaged in conversation. My wife gives me the "give me a minute" look and I pass by for another lap. After my reride my wife is sitting alone. The 4th girls "friends" had finished their ride and moved on. My wife then proceeded to detail the conversation she'd had with Amy (not her real name). It was heart-breaking. "Amy" wanted to ride, but her "friends" didn't want to ride with her. Her "friends" didn't want her to walk with them, that's why she hung back. My wife obviously did not repeat what we had overheard and said she tried to offer an upbeat, positive message about how "things will get better." When my wife told me the young lady's name is when everything clicked that it was her that the other 3 girls were making fun of and making those hateful comments about. We made a few laps around the park hoping we would run into them but we did not see them again. It's been on both our minds for the better part of the weekend and it was pretty upsetting for my wife. She said she was in a similar situation once growing up and had some confidence issues because of it. My initial reaction was anger. I couldn't believe how cold and callous those 3 girls were. After discussing it at length with my wife we agreed that "Amy" was definitely and intentionally being bullied by those other girls. Here are my questions: -how should we have intervened / offered support for "Amy" without trespassing on parental territory? -I know the optics of a middle aged married couple befriending a teenager could be viewed in a bad light, I'm not talking about making friends or hanging out with the person. I'm asking about at what point it is appropriate for a non parent to intervene in a situation similar to what I've described and what is the appropriate interventon? I guess what I'm looking for is for you parents to offer some advice for how you'd want a stranger to intervene/help/stand up if your child were ever in a similar situation. Sorry for the novel.
  22. I'm here right now and have never seen so many coasters down. Bat, Delirium, FOF, Firehawk, Vortex, Diamondback all are closed. Edit: yes I know Delirium is not a coaster. Edit 2: add Backlot to the list Edit 3: it's music in the park today...saw a lot of busses in the lot and lots of unsupervised kids running around.
  23. I dropped by guest services and informed them about portion size. Mine was awful small too.
  24. @VortexBFForever Its grainy I know, but I was trying to get a picture of you driving without getting hollered at by the driver.
