  1. Giga would be great, but wouldn't mind seeing a Gravity Group or RMC woodie.
  2. Wait a minute... 3. I'm going to Cedar Point on the 15th. I've never been before, and I've never had to buy anything like Fright Lane or Fast Lane. My question is, does Fright Lane allow you to skip the lines of the rides, or only the mazes?
  4. They could add a Gerstlauer sky roller called Flight Commander, but that name would probably bring back some bad memories. A G2 Enterprise from HUSS (named Skylab after the old HUSS Enterprise) would also be cool, but I can only say we are getting the antique cars back with confidence.
  5. The Beast isn't that rough. Sure it's not perfect, but it's not as bad as Blue Racer. Blue Racer has gotten rough in the last five years. Personally I wouldn't mind if GCI retracked the whole coaster, and gave it Millennium Flyers. (Though they'd have to be REALLY long Millennium Flyers.)
  6. In my opinion the best is CarnEvil and Field of Screams because I like the theming and they have good scared. My least favorite are Board to Death, Wolf Pack, and Blackout because I found them boring and not that interesting.
  7. Panama by Van Halen Roundabout by Yes Tarkus by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins Welcome to the Machine by Pink Floyd Who Are You by The Who Paradise City by Guns N' Roses Wayward Son by Kansas
  8. I had recently remembered seeing a Koaster Kids video where Lance Heal the Entertainment Manager of KI said that they are retiring something for the 2017 season, but won't tell anyone what it is just yet. Go to 12:43 in the video to see his statement.
  9. It was AWESOME although the shed was a bit lackluster. I'd give it a 9/10. I loved how smooth and how intense it was. It was a really fun ride. I think the ending would be better if right when The Bat/snake/tree monster showed up the room turned yellow, "Roundabout" by Yes started playing in the background and "To be continued" was displayed on the screen.
  10. When I rode Mystic Timbers on Passholder Preview Day, my friend noticed in the shed the radio played "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Taylor. I later saw Coaster Studios Mystic Timbers rider cam POV with Alec Reynolds and OhioColts and the people in the comments section pointed out that "Maneater" by Hall and Oates played. Links to songs below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvLNRO41o64 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqy2N1jM2tU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNNZ1dV9KfQ I'd like to ask does anyone else know the other songs that play on the shed radio. I understand why they chose these songs as they're from the early 80's (which is strange because the truck out front is from the early 60's) when the Miami Valley Lumber Company was abandoned, but I question there use since it doesn't fit in well with the sheds dark and menacing atmosphere. Don't get me wrong I love Mystic Timbers, but I question the music they chose at the end. Below is a song from 1979 that in my opinion at least would have fit the overall atmosphere better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL5AJHijgag Do you agree with me? Do you disagree with me? Do you think there is an even more menacing song from the late 70's early 80's that you think is better.

  12. When that one guy they interview in the video said it was a smooth ride, I was quite surprised. I thought The Beast was always a bit on the bumpy side, but I guess not when it was brand new back in 1979.
  13. Even if Mystic Timbers is better than The Beast, what won't change is how important The Beast was to wooden roller. The Beast was a very avant-garde roller coaster in it's time and still is. If it weren't for The Beast a lot of modern wooden roller coasters we love to ride. However historical significance doesn't make a ride great. We won't find out how good it is until opening day.
  14. I don't think KI really got the short stick compared to KD. I hear Dominator has a terrible rattle in its last half and is one of the weaker Floorless Coasters from B&M. On the flip side, Firehawk is a Flying Dutchman by Vekoma which is considered one of Vekoma's better models, and both have rather mixed reviews from Coaster Enthuists, but then again the GP may like Dominator better than Firehawk.
  15. I thought this would be comparing KI and KD I've never been to KD, but I have seen videos and heard different peoples opinions so I could get an idea of what it was like KI overall has better roller coasters (Outside I305, Volcano, and Rebel Yell, KD doesn't have too much to offer outside its top 3 other than Grizzly, and Flight of Fear. KI on the other hand outside of their top 3 still has The Bat, Firehawk, The Racer, and Flight of Fear) KD has better flat rides outside Planet Snoopy (Or at least KD has more flat rides so there's more choice when it comes to KD) Though KD has more rides in their Planet Snoopy it seems KI might have more quality over quantity as KI's Planet Snoopy always wins the Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids Area (Honestly I think it could go either way as I'm not really an expert on what makes a kids area great. They both seem pretty good) Water Parks are about the same when it comes to quality (Haven't seen too much footage of KD's water park so I can't say for sure) KD is better looking than KI (Especially after KD's 40th Anniversary Birthday they've really done well to make it look absolutley gorgeaus while KI has the look of a typical Cedar Fair park. Which isn't bad, but KD is just above average compared to the looks of other Cedar Fair parks)
  16. If they got rid of Backlot and brought back the antique car ride I wouldn't be complaining. I've missed the antique cars ever since they closed in 2004.
  17. It might just seem like a long line because the path to The Bat is a very long path.
  18. Yeah, you're right. Especially since Carowinds took out Thunder Road, I sometimes worry about rides like The Racer and Rebel Yell going, but I don't think they're as likely to go because they're both ACE Landmarks. But you never know. And I agree that maybe restoring The Racer back to the way it originally was back in 1972 wouldn't be a bad idea.
  19. It could. Looking through the KIC forums and the history of the area it seems as if the Coney Mall area had a bit of an overhaul in 1986 when they got rid of the old bumper cars (or relocated the bumper cars, sources haven't been clear on that) and replaced (or relocated) them with new bumper cars. They also added Zephyr, which is a Zier Wave Swinger. They also changed the name of the area from Coney Island (or Old Coney) to Coney Mall (This was probably because the Coney Island that we know of today opened in 1974 on the old land and I guess KI couldn't call it Coney Island anymore for some reason). Since then I don't think Coney Mall has gotten any flat rides (other than WindSeeker).
  20. Do you think it's possible that Cedar Fair may re theme Action Zone. I think Action Zone has become a husk of what it used to be, when it was first introduced in the 90's. They got rid of the water tower, Banshee (while a fantastic ride) doesn't fit the theme of Action Zone, they re themed Flight Deck into The Bat so now that doesn't fit the theming, and they repainted Invertigo from yellow and red to light blue and dark blue.
  21. I got lucky during my 5th or 6th grade year (between 2008 and 2010). I had a sick day and on that day I was sick they showed this film on Boomerang. I specifically remember freaking out when I realized the amusement park in the film was Kings Island. Pretty much the only part of the film I remembered was the beginning at KI. Especially the part where they march with the marching band.

    KI45

Since Kings Island is turning 45 I would like to start a discussion page where we can look back on the last 45 years of Kings Island. Starting with this mini-documentary about KI's construction. One of my favorite memories of KI, is riding Banshee for the first time in 2015 with my Aunt. We rode in the front row. I remember thinking the ride was awesome. I really loved the intensity of the ride, and still do to this day. Anyway, in my opinion there are three historical era's of Kings Island, these are: Classic Era: 1972-1992 Paramount Era: 1993-2006 Cedar Fair Era: 2007-present
  23. I regret being a chicken when it came to riding roller coasters when I was younger. And I regret not riding the Backlot Stunt Coaster when it was still Italian Job and had more effects.
  24. an alternate where universe Arrow actually made really smooth loopers
