  1. Wasn't there reports of clearing over by picnic grove as well?
  2. Where is all this clearing at? It's hard for me to visualize. Can you point it out on the google map?
  3. Ok...first let me say I know nothing about the train route, but just going by google map, do I have the area of the steel beams right in these pictures? The blueprints say AREA OF WORK where I have (area of steel beams?) written. I'm just totally guessing with too much time, but based on the coaster blueprint shape, do you think this layout could possibly work? This design would put lift hill over by Diamondback assuming there is clearing over there. I've seen so many train videos my head is spinning and I might have all this backwards. Somebody set me straight. Just a guess anyway. haha!
  4. Is there any reason why KI couldn't reintroduce the skyrides? They still have them at CP and at Six Flags. I would think they would be relatively cheap and easy to install and people seem to love them. Anybody know why KI got rid of them in the first place and if there has ever been talk about bringing them back?
  5. I was talking about the first version of Winterfest. Just watched the doc the other day. If Paramount only did one season, their winter might have been more stable, but the original guys talked about weather that was either too warm and ice would melt or too frigid for people to show up.
  6. They could be saying it will be a different experience as an allusion to how the new coaster will interact with it (assuming part of the new coaster layout will cross over/under the train tracks.) They are throwing out the hints for sure. Lots of people thinking a return of Winterfest. I don't know about that with the unpredictable Winter weather in Ohio. I'm hoping it's the Christmas In July announcement of something big. Winter weather in Ohio has ALWAYS been "unpredictable", even back when they had Winterfest in the 80s. I remember hearing in a documentary that the unpredictable weather was the main reason they got rid of winterfest in the first place. They did bring it back in 2005, but it only lasted one season. I don't know if I can see them doing it again, but the announcement for the 2005 winterfest was in late July so who knows? Here is the teaser trailer:
  7. I find it interesting that CP uses a harness for their dive coaster tours. I watched a youtube video on the Griffon tour at Busch Gardens and they were wearing no harness up there. I found that surprising to say the least and left a comment for the ride worker but he has yet to respond. Even maintenance workers wear tethers. Are there in spaces up there that somebody could fall through if they were to trip or have a medical issue or fainting spell? Even the guardrails are not that tall so I can't see a park wanting guests to be up there without a harness on. Seems like it would be an OSHA violation or something. Please let me know if I don't know what I'm talking about.
  8. Isn't that ear thing tinnitus? If it is, I would think doctors would know some of the causes.

  10. Get back to work. It's going to take forever to get this coaster built. Ugh
  11. Where is the drunk, belligerent truck driver when you need him?
  12. SoB was one SOB! It's all coming back to me now....
  13. That's wild. I used to work with a black woman who said they were at the park and saw Pink who was getting the special treatment on The Beast I think it was. I wonder if my co-worker was there the same day as you?
  14. I rode the SoB at least a few times, but that was probably shortly after it opened so it sucks that I can't remember much at all about the actual ride experience. I just remember the super long lines and I remember thinking that I still liked The Beast better.
  15. Lightning Rod cost 22 million. I wouldn't even mind if KI copied off Dollywood for this one. That ride looks insane. I'm going to guess 15 Million for the budget.
  16. I thought the same thing. Also, looks like they already had the idea for the tunnels, just hadn't completed them yet.
  17. I've been trying to find the cost to build Goliath, but I can't find it so far. I haven't searched this whole thread, but has anybody taken a guess on KI's budget for this new ride?
  18. Who has ridden Goliath and what was the experience?
  19. To see what? That the tunnel wasn't added yet? Dennis probably said tunnel and meant helix. Everybody is so used to saying tunnel.
  20. I would almost swear that they used to have a rough script back in the day. I'm pretty sure the Tower elevator attendants did. They had it memorized.
  21. I remember going into that TV set as a kid to cool off. It was so cool in there. I remember parachute guys landing right by the fountain. I remember when they actually had sky rides and dolphin shows. I remember a giant slide by The Racer. Monorail safari.....you bet. I remember standing up on a coaster. I remember riding the real Bat. Nothing like spotting that Tower in the distance when you are a kid and knowing you are almost there. I used to be so depressed pulling out of the parking lot of KI. It's fun when you are an adult, but it's just magical when you are a kid.
  22. Not always. I heard that story of the KI bigshots getting drunk in the office when they had the bright idea to go for a ride on their newly built Beast. (not open til public yet) If I remember right, the trims had not been added yet, so here are these drunk guys blasting through the woods holding on for dear life. I guess when they got back to the station, the story was they were all sober and wondering just what the heck they had just created. haha! I'm sure some of you have heard that story, but for anybody that wants to hear Dennis Speigel tell this hilarious story watch this video starting at 30:50. Funny story!
