  1. Finally got my first ride in last night. Loved the first drop and banked turn out of the tunnel. Felt fast and smooth. Loathed the trim in the shed. The middle act until the second lift just felt downright slow. Lumbering. Loved the helix. Good laterals, good speed, enough rowdiness to keep it interesting. Loathed the dozen+ stop-and-goes entering the station. Definition of a mixed review. Ha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. What’s up with the white drink cups? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I didn’t visit KI once last year. Went last week and had Coney BBQ. They’ve changed something about the fries since 2019, no? Seems to include a lot less ‘tater than it used to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Must give major props to the employee (same kid that did the opening spiel outside wrt rules) who called out the line jumpers and sent them to the back of the line. Before the 7PM show last night. Bravo! (Show was splendid as well) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. We love to spend some time in the arcade. Lots of fun, with the benefit of accumulating tickets for our kids to spend on the prizes. We enjoy some staples like Ski Ball and the (Wonka) coin pusher, as well as several other video arcade games. Which leads me to a question: which games have the best ROI as far as tickets earned per dollar spent? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    No Trams

This is me. I aim for the row where the big yellow “Exit” sign is (I believe row 35?), South of the big KI sign. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Three Pigs is our go-to. Plenty of food. Tastes great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Cirque

We saw our GRAVITY! first show of 2019 on Sunday (5PM). Enjoyed it. Small change, but mostly the same. Is the pre-show entertainment a thing of the past? With the two purple guys? Our kids definitely missed that (it helped occupy them while waiting for the show to begin). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m looking for the perfect pair of coaster shorts. My pair (lightweight dry fit type, flat zippered pockets) busted a hole in back pocket where I put my wallet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

:-) If they advertise a >300’ tall coaster and the coaster is actually 286’ tall, I’m taking a clinometer and tape to prove false advertising and will see them in court! (Calm down, j/k) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like we have shortest (height) Giga record locked up. Any idea if it breaks the record for shortest length as well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not a home run layout, but at least a solid double that could be stretched to a triple with aggressive elements around the base paths. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We were thinking of taking the kids over for lunch (and a couple rides) tomorrow, but I’m wondering if it will even be worth it given the crowds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That will certainly be the intention. No doubt about that. Having spent my career in LEAN and studying the DMAIC approach to project implementation, it is incredibly easy even for the best of the best to miss out on the project that brings the most return. Even with the best modeling, and the smartest guys in the room, it isn’t always as easy as it sounds to “make the most money”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. This is my 1982 pass, yes. Haha. There is no writing on the back or anything. In subsequent years the passes got progressively fancier. It’d be interesting to see a version of the pass each year, to see the evolution of form. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I was born in 1977. Some memories way back: -the clown band - always an exciting moment when you saw them traversing the park. -the floral tunnel between Hanna Barbera land and Rivertown - very neat, and cool even in hot weather! -legit Potato Works fries - in the big cup. The stuff they serve now isn’t even close. -vague memory of these little plastic sugar/juice filled bottles shaped like the Hanna Barbera characters. They’d be sold in a cart on ice, usually near the front gate, they were cold, and they were heavenly as a 5 year old. -the secluded picnic area my family would find, down a “trail” into the woods toward Swan Lake, somewhere over by where Annie Anne’s is located? Very cool spot. -Screamin’ Demon - what a feeling to conquer this as a little guy. The walk up the steps - the view from up there, going upside-freakin-down and backwards! - the shootout on the train ride - what a pleasure to watch as a boy. -was there Opening Day for King Cobra. My dad was interviewed in the park by Channel 9 and it aired on the 6pm and 11pm news. I thought it was a huge deal haha. -the Oak Ridge Boys at Timberwolf, circa 1984 -the Eagles - I thought my dad was a superhero the way he made them dip and dive. -the Smurf Ride, particularly that little “hill” the boats would go over. Here is my 1982 season pass haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Perhaps so. IF that is indeed a driver for such a decision, I personally would have preferred waiting another season to save for building something bigger that “tops” Fury, rather than building a coaster on a tight budget. JMO.
  25. I’m curious, how many people does KI hold on a very busy day? Anyone know? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
