  1. About to be judged very seriously right now...but I wish Son of Beast was never torn down. Hear me out, I'm serious. I've never ridden it before, but I would've loved to ride it. As a coaster enthusiast, it seemed like such a groundbreaking coaster at the time. Sure, it had it's mechanical/technical flaws, but maybe...possibly could it have been fixed up? Wasn't RMC a thing at the time? Also, we desperately need the Skyride and Antique Cars back. Those are a staple at so many amusement parks, and we don't have one.
  2. Okay, I'll be honest, I don't particularly enjoy country, but I'm curious to see how Forever Country is going to play out. Happy to see Off The Charts/River City back, per usual, but as an employee in entertainment, I'm not even really that sure what's going to be in the KI Theater. Then again, I'm just an usher for Jump...oh well. I'm looking forward to working this summer and seeing the park from a new perspective. Hope to see some familiar faces at the Showplace this coming season!
  3. The pay to ride attractions (Skyflyer and Slingshot) can be purchased in the early day for the cheapest price. When you buy it, they give you the receipt which is your ticket to ride. You can use it at any time of day too, which is great. I recommend buying it early, though you don't have to ride it immediately.
  4. KI employees have free admission to Holiday World and Dollywood. Considering both of these are close by, I thought this might be interesting to point out.
  5. Working at The Great Pumpkin Fest was by the most fun I've ever had, by far. I know that's a bold statement, but I've been eager for a while now. Working Winterfest however, is out of the question for me, considering I can't work past 7. Also, Vortex and WindSeeker are awesome rides, plus they never have lines.
  6. It’s never too early to count down the days until Opening Day 2018! I don’t know why I enjoy working, it’s just fun, and interesting to see what’s “behind-the-scenes.” I’m not old enough to work in Rides, but I’ve been interested in Entertainment for a few years, and I really enjoyed working in the division this fall.
  7. ^ I second that. I'm actually disappointed that we won't be open for a while. I had an incredible time working at The Great Pumpkin Fest, and I'm eager to apply for 2018. It's just a fun environment to be a part of. The supervisors and other coworkers in my division are nice, and I've made quite a few friends that work with me. It's fun to be a part of Kings Island from a different perspective than a guest. If anyone is on the fence about applying, trust me, it's the most fun you'll ever have at a job. As for which department is superior, that's a matter of opinion...since I've been working in Entertainment, I may be biased.
  8. Note: Due to the high winds, we couldn't operate the foam pit yesterday. It really hasn't been the best season for the foam pit, but aside from the high winds, it was a pretty nice day yesterday. Only 1 weekend left! Anything we can improve upon for next week?
  9. Glad to hear that you’ve had a good experience! It’s interesting to hear a different perspective. As for the trick or treating, we have plenty of candy, but we are told to give out 1 per person and not to take any for ourselves. I agree, the trinkets like fangs and sticky frogs aren’t that cool, but I guess it’s to hold some kids over, so they aren’t eating the candy all at once, or for those with allergies. Overall, the event is a lot of fun to work though. Thanks for the input!
  10. As I am an associate, I'm curious if anyone on KIC has been to the Great Pumpkin Fest this fall. What are your thoughts on it? Any concerns? PS. If you want to say hi, I'll be the the dork in the Raggedy Ann costume, I only work on Sundays.
  11. Most everything should stay open, unless it's weather permitting. Some shows and character meet and greets may be cancelled. But the past two Sundays, my stations were still open in the rain. I think the foam pit has been having some issues lately. Unless inclement weather causes us to go otherwise, we're not very busy during the rainy days. If you have any more questions regarding The Great Pumpkin Fest, I'm an associate, so I hope this helps.
  12. I'm working in entertainment for the fall, and I'm planning to work future seasons after that. I'm an usher/character escort, so interview process may be different from mine but it went very well. I've met many great people in this department, and I've only been employed for less than a month. Overall, it's a great environment, the hiring process is very low-stress, and the interview was quite simple. Not sure on the 2018 application dates quite yet, but I'll be looking out for those as well. Entertainment has interested me as well, since its not your usual burger-flipping, toilet-cleaning type of job, if that makes sense. So yeah, highly recommend this department, and I hope to see you around.

Newer mazes tend to have much longer waits, so hit up Blackout early. Slaughterhouse by far is the goriest, though Urgent Scare is alright too. In my honest opinion, KillMart has the most unique theming, I wouldn't skip that one. Wolf Pack and Bored To Death are the ones you could skip, and I expect Field Of Screams' line to fill up quickly, get there early. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have GroupMe and Messenger also, if that's convenient. Just don't want to be completely clueless on my first day.
  15. Can we start an employee thread/group chat? It'd be cool to be able to know some associates before I go in for work.
