  1. I hereby declare you Queen of Kings Island[emoji12]! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No Kings Dominion and Canada’s Wonderland’s fountain have never had pedestals, just Kings Island’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yes I forgot to mention that! For me it’s hard to believe Diamondback is 10 years old. I remember taking my first ride on it. It was on July 8th, 2009 and I was 12 years old. Boy does time fly! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. When I sit down and think about it, there’s a lot of things to celebrate this year at Kings Island. Of course you’ve got the International Street upgrade, Antique Cars and the new Brewery restaurant. But there are several anniversaries at the park this year. Beast is 40 years old, Soak City/Waterworks is 30, Drop Tower and Invertigo are 20, and Diamondback is 10. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have to say I’m kind of glad Reds is going out. It’s not that I didn’t like Reds, because their chicken tenders and Saratoga chips basket was really good. I just think there are already a lot of places in the park to get food like chicken tenders and burgers so it will be nice to have more of a variety in food selection. 6. My first visit to Kings Dominion was in July 2017 and Volcano was down, so I was kinda bummed about that. I ended up going back last year for opening weekend and was fortunate to ride it several times. It was probably my favorite coaster at the park and I’m incredibly sad to see it go. Although I do understand why the park chose to close it and I’m sure it was not an easy decision to make. It was SBNO most of last year so it’s not like I’m completely shocked or anything. Hopefully something good will replace it within the next few years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I don’t want them to get rid of the pedestals. There’s still plenty of room to skate around them especially now that they took out 2 of them during Winterfest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Oh really? I never remember that. Must have been removed before I started going to the park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I see what you did there with a reference to fountain ERT[emoji12]. Speaking of the fountains, one thing that Kings Island has not gotten that both Kings Dominion and Canada’s Wonderland have gotten is an upgrade to their fountains. Both those parks got a renovation of their fountain which included new LED lighting, plumbing, paint etc. I really hope our fountain gets a renovation within the next few years. It’s definitely due for one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I do agree that they need to extend hours for Winterfest, at least on Saturday and Sunday. There is just so much to do that it is virtually impossible to see and do everything in just 5 hours. I kind of wish they would just open the entire park at 4:30 when International Street opens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. That actually makes sense to remove those 2 pedestals to eliminate the shoe change area at the front of the fountain and have it at the back. That should allow for more room to skate. Fun fact, the last time any of the pedestals were removed was in 2003 when the fountain was completely renovated and rebuilt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Actually it does kind of look like the 2 pedestals closest to the bandstand were removed, at least from this angle. I can’t say for sure. Guess we’ll find out next week! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hello. Yes many of us on here have stayed at great Wolf in December before. Every year for the last five years, there has been a holiday party that we’ve done usually the first or second weekend in December. This year however, due to Winterfest and other people having activities that month, we are probably going to do it the first weekend in January. Great wolf does a special event during the holidays called Snowland. They decorate the lodge and have all kinds of activities going on. You can check their website for more details on that and room rates. I’d definitely recommend staying there especially if you have young kids. It’s definitely very convenient being right next-door to the park. Hope this helps you get started! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. My first time visiting Haunt was in 2007, the first year it changed from Fearfest to Halloween Haunt. I was 11 at the time so I didn’t do any of the mazes that year. So I can’t say whether or not the mazes used to be better than they are now. I did however walk all the midways. As I can recall, back then there were a lot more scare actors and monsters roaming the park. Every path you turned down there were at least three or four roaming actors. And I loved having the big set up right inside the front gate with the undertaker. I didn’t start visiting Haunt on a regular basis until 2015. I totally agree that in recent years, there are a lot less actors and monsters roaming the park. So in my opinion Haunt has gone downhill. I’m guessing part of the problem is that the park just has a hard time finding people who are willing to work for probably minimum-wage and scream at people all night. And now the park is faced with a new challenge of having to tear down Haunt stuff and get ready for Winterfest in a pretty short length of time. Perhaps that might be why there’s not as many decorations up now since they wouldn’t have enough time to transition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I would have to say Urgent Scare. It’s currently one of the oldest mazes still in use at the park. The first few years it was open it was really good. Now it’s just kind of meh. There really isn’t a whole lot of actors in there and the theming seems really dated. I would love to see that building be used for something other than a haunt maze. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Madame Fatales being removed soon. While I personally think it’s one of the better mazes, that’s too nice of a building to only be used for a haunt maze. It would be nice to see Kings Island put another really good dark ride in that building. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I have to agree. You get a HUGE portion of brisket. I was hungry before I ate and was unable to eat it all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have both the all season meal and drink plan and have been very satisfied with both. I think it’s a great option for people who visit the park frequently. I will say that sometimes when I go through the line to get a drink, they don’t even scan my pass. So they would never know if I had waited 15 minutes or not. A lot of times they will even give me a bigger cup because they are out of the red refill cups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I can completely understand why this rule was put in place. Getting hit by a phone at 70 miles an hour would not be very pleasant. It’s a shame that a few people who chose to not follow the rules caused this to be put in place. Our society today has gotten so dependent on having cell phones. And I’m not afraid to admit that I spend a lot of time on my phone every day. But I would never ever pull my phone out while on a ride. It’s just not worth possibly losing it or injuring somebody. If I were ever hit by a phone on a ride, I would want the person to be held liable and suffer the consequences. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Cedar Point recently announced that you are no longer allowed to take cell phones on to Steel Vengeance, even if they are secured in a pocket. You are also no longer allowed to take cell phones in line with you. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Can we expect any kind of upgrade to the Royal Fountain in the next few years? Kings Dominion’s and Canada’s Wonderlands fountains have been upgraded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I love how you guys make jokes about removing the fountain and putting a splashdown there for a giga. That would be one of the most unique splashdowns ever[emoji23]! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. There’s been a few times where I’ve witnessed the ride employee at the entrance getting distracted with something and a guest entered the line with a bag or souvenir bottle without the employee catching it. It’s possible that could have been the case in this situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Fireworks will start at the normal time of 10pm. The park will be open until midnight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’ve heard that some years it is walk on city and other years it’s 2 hour lines for everything. I’m sure the weather plays a big role in crowd size. I might go for the first time this year since I’m off work that day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. At the park eating at Coney BBQ. Got the brisket, corn on the cob and hush puppies. It’s very good and delicious! The park is pretty busy, but hardly any line at Coney. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
