  1. I saw this video about a rumor of Antique Cars coming. You guys can check it out if you want, it sounds somewhat legit.
  2. That makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
  3. To Comment more on Vortex the only thing I can say that really stands out about it is its Layout, I just came back from a vacation to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and I went to Dollywood and rode Tennessee Tornado, Which was Surprisingly my Second Favorite ride there. It was smooth, fun, enjoyable and surprisingly intense. But it felt so short, and imo the layout was meh, But The Vortex layout is so good and unique, from my knowledge there isn't any Arrow coaster like it, TT is just 2 loops and a Sidewinder compared to The Vortex double loop and double corkscrew and batwing. Sometimes I really wished The Vortex just had no head banging so it could be more enjoyable. So even though I'm not the biggest fan of this ride, I will miss it when it goes away one day because to say the least, it's a beautiful ride. Also, I have a question about The Vortex logo, what is it? what type of creature is it (Diamondback is a snake, Beast is a Beast {lol} etc,) I always wonder what is the creature of the arm holding the track or if there is any backstory about it like MT. @VortexBFForever do you know anything about it?
  4. From my knowledge, RMC hasn't done an 87° drop before, but I guess it is very possible when you think how Goliath at SFGA has a max descent of 85° at 165 and how this coaster is Speculated to be over 200 ft, So good Prediction Indyguy.°°°°°°
  5. Does anyone else think Inverts have practically replaced Suspended coasters (or reduced the interest of parks buying them) or is it just me?
  6. To say the least, it was an Interesting trip to Kings Island on Friday, My day started out with me going on Diamondback, for some reason the B&M Rattle on it was more noticeable than it has ever been to me, Usually in my experience its glossy smooth but I guess it was just having a bad day. I also think this very Noticeable Rattle lead to lots of people puking on it, I remember seeing puke on the break run 4 times and also I think they momentarily shut down the green train because someone puked on the seat. I understand people will puke on coasters but I have never seen it at a mass rate like this! After that, I head to Mystic Timbers which probably the best ride of the day for me, the ejector airtime and aggressive banked turns is always fun, It feels like the more I ride it the more I like it. After that ride, I headed to The Beast and I KNOW people are going to say I'm crazy for even making this statement but on Friday it and The Racer (Blue side) really did feel smoother than Diamondback, (I'm not trying to hate on Diamondback as it is my favorite ride in the park I'm just being honest), After this, I headed to Vortex (which is the main highlight of this trip) where I met @VortexBFForever (sorry if I appeared weird I'm just not the most talkative person when I first meet someone) for the first time! She and her crew are super nice people and from my experience the best ones I have Interacted with! But then Vortex had some Issues so operations on the ride suspended for like 15-20 mins, From what I saw the back of a seat headrest came undone. After some mechanic came and checked it out, I think they blocked off the seats that weren't safe and continued operations on the ride, So there were about 14 other people who waited it out and we got the ride.(I decide to go 5-1) We made it up the chain lift and we went down the wonderful Drop, The first Half wasn't bad I did experience some head banging but it was very tolerable. Then we hit the MCBR and we stop immediately, For like 7 seconds everyone on the train stayed quite there was Literally NO sound. Then someone on the train finally said " Is everything ok" and then people started having their own personal conversations, I was riding by myself and I assumed since the ride just started back up there might be a slight delay and the ride will continue in a minute or so, but to say the least it didn't happen that way. After maybe 3-5 minutes 2 crew member came up and Told us there was a small error and the ride should be continuing in a few minutes, So we stayed up there for maybe another 5 Mins and then they came back up and still said the problem hasn't been fixed yet. They started asking if everyone was ok and they did a Great Job at keeping people calm, and they had simple conversations with people and kept us updated After this more person came up and maybe 30 minutes have passed (and I think the heat was starting to get to people). And then from the back, I could hear one of the Supervisors say to another Supervisor they will likely have to let them down the stairs. So then they made the announcement that they were going to be taken off so they helped us all of the train 1 by 1 and in maybe 5 mins we were all down safely. Once we made it back to the station they gave us all Water, there were a few parents waiting for their kids. They took information from us and asked if we need first-aid, from my knowledge everyone was ok and then they let us go. So I guess My Vortex Count for this season is 1.5, and I also have a cool story to tell people. Although the ride experience wasn't the greatest the overall experience of Being stuck on Vortex was the most fun thing that happened to me that day. The crew really did contribute to that a lot so I have to say thank you to them for making the experience good. After this, I checked in with My parents and once I told them the story they were a little shocked but not the much, They just expected me to be done with riding coaster but I guess they got shocked when I told them I was gonna ride Banshee and The Bat real quick. Anyways the Banshee was the same as usual, But this was going to be my first time riding The Bat this season and It was Great, But Like Many people have stated I wished it was longer. But it was overall a good ride. After this, I met up with my Family again and we left. But to Say the Least, I will NEVER forget that experience on Vortex, and I do consider it a good one. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to the park again before school so I can get the full experience on 5-1, and my count on Vortex will Always be .5 of something unless I get stuck on the MCBR again but I think the chances of that happening again to me are pretty low...
  7. Yeah for some reason the line for Banshee is typically short, I went to KI on a Saturday once and it was only a station wait. So I guess like stated above the line argument isn't really that strong.
  8. I mean it is possible but like every time I go to the park it feels like nobody is on Vortex, a few times I saw empty trains go up the lift. The only time I remember the wait being like 15 min+ is on Saturdays.

    July 11th

So I decided to take the risk of going to KI on the 11th (the forecast was practically t-storms for most of the day) and it was Literally my best day at Kings Island. It started Raining heavy at 4:00 pm and practically all the rides closed (I think FoF was still open tho, which we did get 2 rides on with a 15 min wait before the heavy rain) but at 4:50 pm the rain started calming down and D-back open up again (by this time most people have left) and practically every ride at the park was a station wait. So me and my bud decided to go front row on Diamondback and the experience was crazy, It was still raining lightly when we got on and this lead to this crazy feeling of like small needles hitting are face's which were the raindrops that were colliding into us at 80 mph. I don't why but this feeling changes the ride experience so much, It made it 10x more fun than it usually is. It's almost like another element was added to the coaster! After riding it, more people realized that the rides were opening back up, but all the rides were still practically a station wait. By this time the rain stopped and we decide to go on Diamondback again and ride back row. After this, All the ride's were practically back up again so we decide to go back row on Mystic Timbers, which was pretty fun as usual. After that we attempted to go front row but by then they started to assign seats again so we got in the middle. After that we decide to go to Banshee and we picked the front seat (which I think is my favorite place sit on it now). In all, I think I can say we got 5 rides in 25-30 mins. While it was likely my shortest visit to the park (we got there at like 1:00 pm and left at about 5:30) It was the best visit I have had to date and I will definitely not forget that ride on Diamondback.
  10. That chicken nugget looked so nasty, I'm pretty disappointed in KI. I'm not expecting top notch restaurant style food but seriously, Chicken with blood in it? That's straight out unacceptable, I know this doesn't reflect every food/ beverage item at Kings Island but it sure does make me not want to eat the food there. Especially when you consider the high price tag of $19 when I can go out the park and go to the nearby Chick-fil-A and get nuggets that are FULLY cooked for HALF of the price that KI is selling them for.
  11. (As of June 2017, I haven't ridden all the rides this year) 1. Diamondback 2.Banshee 3.Mystic Timbers 4. The Beast 5. Racer 6. Flight of Fear 7. Firehawk 8. Vortex ( I might edit this list later)
  12. Interesting, Never knew that. Thanks for teaching me something new chugh.
  13. Well I don't have numbers but from what I Know Firehawk and Flight of Fear are not going anywhere. At times they are both the 2 busiest rides at the park. Also, not much hate goes towards these rides unlike Vortex. The picture booth not working is a tad suspicious but I don't think that it is a clear enough sign that Vortex is leaving super soon.
  14. @VortexBFForever Thanks for the info, I will definitely try out 5-1 and 1-1 and take the tips you said. Also, I am very impressed with how much you know about this ride, If I have any questions about Vortex I'll definitely come to you to ask!
  15. @VortexBFForever I sat on the last train on the front side of it, SO if The Vortex has like 7 trains (I have no Idea) I ride 7-1 on the right seat. I really did enjoy the drop and some parts here and there were ok, but most of it was hard to enjoy. Tell me which row you think is the best to sit in and I will definitely try it out again and I will take your advice on relaxing. Also, I think the Batwing was a cool inversion but the thing that I really didn't appreciate about it is that when I went through the first half of it, my head bang right into the restraints so hard. This probably isn't the first time this has been said but I think the ride would be so much more enjoyable if it had lap bars. EDIT* I have been reading some info on good seating on this ride and some people said 7-1 is actually good, IDK if I got a once in a while bad ride on Vortex or if some rows or worst than the one I rode on?
  16. Well, I have finally ridden The Vortex and it wasn't what I expected. My friends who I rode with told me the ride was horrible and rough but I blocked them out thinking in my head it can't be that bad. But the sad truth was that it was that bad, The only good part about the ride in my opinion was the drop and that is it. The head banging I experienced was so SO BAD, I couldn't even lay back and enjoy the ride because I was so busy trying to hold my head in one position so my head wouldn't bang back and forth, The sad truth is that I thought Vortex was over-hated but from my experience it really isn't, the ride just isn't enjoyable. I got off with a headache and disappointment because I couldn't believe how (I hate using this term but I must) bad the ride was. I can't see myself riding it that often, maybe a twice a season just for the heck of it. But other than that I don't see myself coming close to it anymore. For now, I think the ride should stay but I think it should get removed maybe in the next 6-10 years for a B&M twister or a ground up RMC. The thing was that I came to this ride with an Unbiased opinion towards it, even thinking it received to much hate, But to say the least I can't say I Hate The Vortex but I can't blame the people who do. The real question I have is how do some people enjoy this ride (no disrespect) but what do you guys who like Vortex like about it, I honestly want to know.
  17. Well I rode Diamondback again yesterday and my opinion shifted again. The Airtime was great and so fun, So right now I'm in the middle.
  18. The reason why this question came to my head is because after riding Diamondback and Banshee for the first time this year (2017), I asked myself which ride I liked more so basically did I prepare the airtime on Diamondback more or the inversions on Banshee. In the past, I would have said the airtime on Diamondback but now after thinking it over I really did like the Inversions on Banshee a lot. So right now I have the rides tied at my favorite at the park, But I think if I had to pick I would say Inversions. So What's your guy's opinion?
  19. From all the Coasters I have currently ridden (not much) I haven't blacked out but I heard I305 is very Intense. Hopefully, when I grow older I'll be able to hit up other parks
  20. Bro, I thought I was the only one who got dizzy after riding Banshee. IDK why but after riding I just feel light-headed for 5 mins, but after riding Mystic I felt perfectly fine.
  21. I Just rode Mystic Timbers Today and it was Great! It was My first visit this year and I got on 5 different rides (Mystic, D-back, Banshee, Beast, Racer). It felt so weird seeing it in real life after just seeing pictures, I would rate it a 7/10. It also felt great being able to ride Diamondback again.
  22. I agree While B&M do not make the most intense rides(which makes people think their rides suck), Most of them are fun which is personally for me the most important quality for a coaster to have.
  23. I have been asking myself this question for a while, Will Mystic Timbers be better than The Beast? At first I thought that Mystic Timbers would suck, but now it looks amazing. So I thought to myself, Could this beat The Beast for the best wooden coaster at KI? Looking at the stats Beast is superior to it having a taller lift, drop and top speed. But at the same time with all the trim breaks Beast has it could be at times slower and not as well paced. I also started to see Mystic Timbers had the more Intense layout. We all have to admit The Beast has a lot of straight sections, With Mystic Timbers POV it looks like you're always changing direction or getting airtime. Mystic Timbers looks to have a good nighttime ride like The Beast also. So as much as I love The Beast, Mystic Timbers just looks superior, It has everything from a good storyline to a great ride. But again I guess we will all see in 10 days. Anyways what are your guys' opinions?
  24. This season I will make sure to ride Vortex and give it a final score for myself, Looks like a good ride, but I guess I will see for myself in a few weeks.
  25. Waiting for this Coaster has been pretty fun though, With all the pictures and information Kings Island has released, it made time go by faster. It's Crazy how fast time has flown. Mystic Timbers has changed from this to this
