  1. Sorry to double post, but here is an article stating that the victim is fighting for her life and also contains some details about the conference in the video I linked above. https://www.cantonrep.com/story/news/local/2021/08/23/cedar-point-accident-top-thrill-dragster-woman-injured-update/8246478002/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=ghf-cantonrep-main&fbclid=IwAR2P9PRErq-yRfL1S1Y4DTBFoDiGwlTGYJgc3rpWRG5T63EeOnn31jtuW_k
  2. Press conference on the investigation and what they know so far.
  3. It's hard to say what they're going to do to fix it when they still don't know what caused it. They already said they are investigating it with several parties. I wouldn't expect any real news on this for quite a long time. These investigations can take a long time.
  4. The Register is an absolute joke. Everything they have posted since the initial report have been nothing but clickbait and bashing the park for not releasing information. They are just trying to cash in on this. This story is probably filling their pockets and they want to keep dragging it on. An investigation of this magnitude can't be done in a few days. I wouldn't expect any real news on this story for quite a long time. It should not be up to the park to give out info regarding the victim. That should be the family and they have a right to privacy. The family probably doesn't want to be harassed by the media, nosy people and lawyers at this time. They are already going through enough. They can go through the procedure to get some info through public record but that doesn't mean that they should.
  5. Yes. The Department of Agriculture. The same team that certifies the rides every year. They have to be inspected 2 times per year. And one news report stated they were already on scene to start an investigation.
  6. This isn't the first time people have been hurt by something coming off the ride. There has also been some occasions where the cable frayed and people were hit by pieces of it. But the cable incidents were fairly minor compared to this. None of those incidents required somebody to go to a Trauma Center. It seems like this right is just becoming a liability. I'm sure it will be SBNO for the rest of the season. And the future of it might be questionable with the incidents plus CF is not exactly on good terms with Intamin.
  7. Apparently, someone noticed something was wrong and was shouting to stop the ride. https://www.cleveland19.com/2021/08/16/stop-ride-stop-ride-1-injured-after-being-hit-by-metal-object-top-thrill-dragster-cedar-point-says/?fbclid=IwAR0t1fwS7osRZoI3aA7VhVcSzRENIOgVO3QMdc-WOX4nedM3Ry7Azi5-AMQ
  8. I know I read somewhere, maybe even on here that the antenna on the tower was lowered around 1994, a few years before DT was built or even thought of. I also read that it got clipped by the wing of a low flying plane. I'll see if I can find what I'm talking about. Edit: Here it is
  9. I tried the cinnamon bread today and it was meh. I took a few bites before I pitched it.
  10. I would like to see a place that serves breakfast type food in the park. It could have something like waffles, pancakes, donuts, muffins, etc. That would be a nice addition to the park since most hotels stopped serving breakfast. And then I could use my first meal on my plan when I first get there and that could hold me over until later in the day to use my second meal, sometimes I find it difficult to use lunch and dinner in both my meals, more so if it's an early close day.
  11. Keep your eyes to the sky around the park. They are heading that way today on their way to Memphis for a golf event. You can track their flight path here: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N3A/history/20210805/1413Z/4OH6
  12. According to posts in a FB group, the ride just reopened.
  13. What are some fantasy coasters and attractions in your mind? This is not a discussion asking what you would like added to the park, but a coaster or attraction idea that is highly unlikely to happen due to costs, space constraints, impossible, etc. I just couldn't think of where else to put a discussion like this. My ideas are: Racing Giga Coaster Floorless Wooden Coaster Giga Hybrid Coaster
  14. This isn't KI, but Cedar Point is hiring Screamsters now, I haven't heard if KI is doing the same but it's the same chain. So I think Haunt is returning in at least some capacity. Maybe just outdoor haunts. but if they can do the whole thing, that would be great
  15. That is an embarrassment! They should have just scrapped their fireworks plans or found some way to do it when it was dark. You could barely see those fireworks. And looks like those glasses did absolutely nothing. All you could really do was hear them. The money spent on those fireworks could've gone to better use rather than set them off when it was still daylight.
  16. Maybe they need to try flipping the tape over
  17. I agree. It just doesn't feel right without the music.
  18. This weekend, I rode Mystic Timbers 4 times. All the times I rode it, the music in the shed didn't play. What happened? I liked hearing Maneater, Total Eclipse, etc when entering the shed.
  19. I just finished the book today. I was very impressed with the level of detail and depth of the history. You didn't skip anything, you even included the bad things that have happened in the park. I was even more impressed to learn that you are a high school student who did all this work. I hope you got some good school credits for this. Maybe that even counted as your term paper. I'm hoping to attend that virtual event in the previous post. Hopefully maybe you can even do some updated editions in future years.
  20. I think an automatic ejection from the park and a ban from the park for at least the rest of the year would be the way to go. If the park started doing that and the word got out, it would make someone think really hard about causing trouble at the park.
  21. On opening weekend, while waiting in line for the Banshee queue to open, I heard someone say that they thought the Delirium tower was part of Banshee. And then later while in line for Racer I saw some guests in line looking over towards Adventure Express, they said that was the old Vortex station. Since that was passholder weekend, I would think that they would know those things.
  22. I picked up a copy at the Emporium yesterday in the park. I don't normally like to read books but this will be a good read. I skimmed through the pages and looks like lots of good details in there. I'll start reading it after this weekend when I get home from my trip.
  23. I don't factor in how many hours the park is open. The ERT, tours and the meals are where the value is. Not much happens during normal park hours anyway, except for the lunch, behind the scenes tours and guest speakers. The park could only be open for 6 hours those days and I wouldn't feel less value. As long as there is still the same amount of ERT and meals, I would feel I got my money's worth.
  24. Morning ERT starting later around 9AM would be nice so you wouldn't feel as tired the next day. The other question is are they loading full trains? If they are still skipping rows, then I might have to pass on this year. ERT waits of 1 hour+ isn't appealing. You wouldn't get much in.
  25. Does your card get charged when you order or when it ships?
