  1. Phew! I was afraid I wasn't going to get on before the fireworks shutdown.
  2. There needs to be something done about Walmart and other stores. Most stores in my areas were packed today. Even with the 5 people per 1000 square foot rule, some big stores that still allows upwards of 1000 people in the store. That really changed nothing. There's never that many people in a store. Home Depot is about the only store doing something right.
  3. It's 2 right now, but based on past experience, it'll go down to 1 in a few weeks then a few weeks after that, it'll revert back to 2 due to the amount of claims filed at the Make Me Whole department.
  4. I was wondering that myself. I think having alot of office workers working at home would save companies a good deal of overhead costs. They may have to come in for that occasional meeting.
  5. I think given the new projections on number of cases with the number being much lower now, I can see the park opening at some point this year. Mid May? Hell no! Mid-June, July or beyond? Possible. I watch or listen to the DeWine address every day I possibly can. They keep stressing the importance of the measures in place and how we're keeping the number of cases low. They said that it won't go back to normal overnight, but it will be phased restoration. I think restaurants will be one of the first, with likely restrictions such as seating only every other table and no waiting allowed in the waiting area, they'll have to call you while you wait in your car. Then after that will likely be nonessential business reopening and people returning to work. And if all those go well without a spike in cases, then we move onto the bigger things like sports, concerts and parks, likely with restrictions such as attendance cap. I think staff will be wearing PPE such as masks and gloves and there will be an increase of sanitation throughout the park. With the progress being made and the state measures taking place, I just think it's premature to assume that this season won't happen when they were only scheduled to open this weekend. I have no doubts the state leaders will make the right decisions on when to allow things to reopen and will do so when they feel it's safe. I can't see them caving into those people wanting things reopened with how they stress the importance of the measures in place. And the source for Universal is on their Facebook page.
  6. I see Kings Island opening before any Orlando park. Those parks draw a worldwide crowd while KI is more of a regional draw. I think Disney and Universal will be the last to reopen.
  7. I would be fine with a refund but subtract the cost of the shirt from the refund and they still send us our shirts. I'm sure those have already been made
  8. My guess is it will be rescheduled or cancelled. Even if by some miracle, they open in Mid-May, I don't think they would have it on the park's opening weekend. Staff are still trying to get the hang of operations.
  9. https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/dashboards/forecast-model/ This is the new projection model from the Ohio Health Department for Ohio. The number of projected cases has dropped by a significant margin.
  10. I think that was put on by an outside company. It would not only depend if the park opens by then, but if the company is back up and running by then. And the odds of those are probably on the lower end.
  11. I got nothing like that. I'm on a payment plan. My home park is CP.
  12. Stores needed to limit the crowds. They were just way too crowded and that's what we're trying to eliminate to slow the spread. You don't need to take your whole group of 10 into the store with you and have kids touching everything and putting it back on the shelves. I don't really see that impacting staffing. Stock is only a finite supply. That shouldn't affect the behind the scenes operations at the stores. And to cut down on lines inside the store, they should have more checkout lanes open.
  13. This morning just before I woke up, I had a dream that I was at Kings Island and the Goodyear Blimp flew over. I started taking pictures of it and then I said I'm posting these pictures on KI Central. And in that dream I said I wished I was over by Banshee because it would make a better backdrop. And later in that dream, I said at least Kings Island is open now, but if Mike Dewine and Dr. Acton hear about this, they'll shut it down.
  14. Looks like Disney is now suspending payment plans and offering partial refunds for pass holders. https://wdwnt.com/2020/04/breaking-walt-disney-world-and-disneyland-offer-partial-refunds-payment-plan-holds-for-annual-passholders-due-to-covid-19-extended-closures/
  15. For some, this may be a double whammy. They may have purchased their passes months ago when finances were great and they had good job security back then, then suddenly that was taken away from them in the blink of an eye through no fault of their own. And I hear the unemployment site is a cluster right now and difficult to apply for it although during the daily address, they say they are working to improve it. And even if the park does open, getting there may be a challenge for some. If they live far enough away, a visit to the park may require an overnight stay (in my case it does, i'm 4 hours away) and if finances are tight, that presents a problem. Gas is cheap but it's still an expense when money is tight. This is not a pleasant time for anyone, regardless of financial situation. I would be happy if my platinum pass rolled over for part of 2021 like Kennywood is doing, or if the season is a wash for the entire year. I have no doubts the parks will do something to make us whole again. Right now, we can only take this one day at a time. Nobody knows what even tomorrow or later today will bring. I'm hoping at this point at the very least we can get a Haunt and Winterfest season this year.
  16. Congo Falls, Zephyr, Upcharge Rides, Drop Tower, Scrambler.
  17. As fast as things are changing with this, we don't even know what will happen later today, let alone 2 months from now.
  18. Nice to see it getting some cosmetic work. After the extended downtime last season (or maybe 2 seasons ago), I was hoping it wasn't heading for the chopping block. VF is my favorite flat in the park.
  19. Keep in mind that "new" cases doesn't necessarily mean people who just got sick that day. It's just more test results that came in that day. They could've been sick for a few days already at that point. And there's likely a huge number of undocumented cases as some people will just choose to ride it out if they're not feeling too bad. My understanding is they will only test if you are in a high risk group or your symptoms are severe. But for those with more mild cases, they're not even part of those numbers.

DeWine's press conference today. Scroll down to the bottom. The yellow is what it would be like had we kept going business as usual and the blue is the current trend as we are doing now.
  21. Supposedly UV kills the virus. If UV rays kills the virus, then it's less of a hazard on sunny days. I know there's cases in FL, HI, etc. but did they contract the virus on a cloudy day, being indoors or in too close of quarters for the virus to be killed by UV quick enough? Those are the big unknowns. Edit: did a little more reasearch on that. Says UV rays from sun aren't strong enough to kill the virus
