Free Sunscreen: Holiday world is included in your higher ticket price.

Hand mounted cameras: SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, no need. Already have an official POV, and someone will drop their camera.

Better App: Universal Studios and Disney, Yes need a major upgrade.

Free Lockers: Universal Studios yes, if your ride requires me to secure all loose articles an area to place my belongings that are needed in the park should be provided.

Not a soccer theme. What I’m saying is Cedar Fair planning to give their parks a new attraction at the same time a huge event is happening in the metropolitan area.

To give you another example. Let’s say it’s announced that the World’s Fair is coming to Toronto in 2027. Do you think Cedar Fair would take advantage of this and chose 2027 to be the year they give Wonderland a new coaster since they know that region is going to see a lot of people already?

Basically planning your asset installations based off of local events in attempt to get the most attendance possible for that season. You’re already planning on giving your parks rides, you’re just planning them a little bit more strategically.

I had heard a rumor (twitter maybe) that is why Worlds of Fun got the Zinger, and might be getting some more improvements before Kansas City hosts the World Cup for multiple weeks in 2026.

  3. Well after many years of pushing back, and cancelling a trip to Michigan our family finally made it. We left the great state of Ohio for Michigan to swim, explore the lakes, and ride a few coasters. We stayed in Holland since MA was not our main objective and the hours at the park made it be an easy few hours.  We arrived at Michigan's Adventure at 0955. The parking lot attendant did not allow us to enter the parking lot until 10am.  We then walked to the entrance where they were not prepared to scan guests in until 1005. A little odd, but whatever.

    Rides

We rode all the roller coasters, and enjoyed them for what they were. Shivering Timbers and Thunderhawk are the best ones there. We also rode the ferris wheel which they encouraged us to take pictures and videos.

Food was absolute terrible ate the pizza place and wildcat grill.

Atmosphere was pleasant, and the people were nice.

Overall it was fun beautiful park,  we could just tell it did not get much attention from Cedar Fair. It was well kept, but did not have the sense of urgency that KI or CP have to get things done. The guests were happy with what they had, and no one was wondering what the next big thing was going to be.  Being a coaster rider, I would not want it to be my home park. It ranks dead last in the 6 Cedar Fair parks I have visited.

Currently, I’m doing the monthly payment for my gold pass. Am I able to upgrade from gold to platinum and still do the monthly payment? If so, can I do it online? I can’t find it anywhere.

I upgraded yesterday. I am still on the payment plan for my original gold passes. So I waited in line, got to the teller, and said, "Hey yo." She said yes sir. I said I would like to upgrade my pass to platinum. She scanned my phone, I paid $197, and now am a platinum pass holder going to Cedar Point this upcoming Wednesday.  Was not asked about a payment plan, nor did I mention it. Cedar Fair just wants your money. If you don't pay you, you don't go.

I don't see us getting Psycho Mouse. In fact I don't see Psycho Mouse getting relocated. Arrow is out of business and I don't see CF relocating a coaster from a manufacterer that is no longer in business. If we get anything from CGA, I'm betting on some of the kid rides and/or flat rides like Berserker or Centrifuge. Or I can always dream of us getting Carousel Columbia, but I think that goes to CP.

Psycho Mouse being relocated or sold isn't out of the realm of possibilities because S&S makes parts for Arrow Coasters.

Have you pulled up the Orion or Diamondback cams lately?

Both are upside down and I think both from the Orion cam.

Did they get bumped or what?

It depends on your point of view. If you perceive them that they're upside down, when you believe yourself to be looking at them right side up then yes they're upside down, but if you're upside down, and then they're right side up.  It is all perception, and a lesson to learn about how everyone perceives an issue.

Yes, or the sales booths under Invertigo as you walk in from the metal detectors.

    Welcome to KIC!

and if you do a dining plan that will need to be upgraded as well.  Drink and picture plans already work at all parks.

Oktoberfest outside of the Festhaus/Viking part was dead, and had been for a long time.

While my previous pitches were always for combining Oktoberfest and Action Zone into one large Oktoberfest, the amount of work involved there would be significant and very expensive, and I really like the route they’re taking with this.

Festhaus and VF could easily become either a mini-Oktoberfest with a little sprucing up there, or just become part of IS. Either works for me.

The only thing Oktoberfest that still existed in the new area was the return of the Biergarten, but with Brewhouse now existing in Rivertown, it’s not really a loss.

(Now we’ll wait and see what happens regarding B&M, SkyHigh, Fenton Rigging, Daniels Woodland and other contractors last seen for Orion…)

I'm only speculating here, but Kings Island does not have a floorless, dive or wing coaster. B&M develops very good models of each of those.  Lets start with the wing coaster.  Will be a GP pleaser, and are fun. GateKeeper is gentle and forceless, but worth a ride. Thunderbird is a lot of fun with its launch and near miss elements. Although rumor has it Holiday World made B&M sign a no build clause of "x" amount of miles from HW.  There has not been built a ground up floorless coaster since Hydra.  I have rode Hydra which I thought was a lot of fun, but Rougarou is rough and a headbanger.  Although Rougarou was a replacement for Mantis, and is not very well perceived at Cedar Point this may work at KI. KI needs an intense, multiple looping coaster since Vortex and Firehawk were removed. Since it has been multiple years since a ground up floorless has been built maybe B&M has updated the restraints and trains for it to make for a better ride.  A dive coaster is a GP pleaser, offers multiple inversions, and gives an intimidating appearance to the skyline. We have seen Cedar Fair purchase two of them, and both are very successful at the parks that have them.  It appears Cedar Fair does not care if the parks have similar coasters in their parks.  A dive coaster on The Vortex plot could be the largest of its kind. If KI was to get a new coaster I would think a Dive coaster would probably be the way they go.  Or B&M is just here help repair the current B&M coasters in the park. Time will only tell.

  9. Great additions! Kings Island and Cedar Fair have done it again. We saw Cedar Fair save a dying area last year at Kings Dominion with Jungle X-perdition, Cedar Point’s Farmhouse, and Boardwalk, Carowinds massive improvements, and Michigan Adventure’s Camp Snoopy. Now we see them bringing it to Kings Island with a wonderful retheme of Hanks, and the surrounding area.  It will bring life to area where most just walkthrough. The flat rides were  desperately needed, and will be loved for generations.  It will also buy time, and deter the general public of the vacant land which Vortex sat.  KI and CF continue rehabbing much needed areas. Started with Coney BBQ, Miami Brewhouse, and International Street.  Now we have Area 72 and Adventure Port. The future is bright, and believe me for us huge coaster fanatics The Vortex plot coaster is coming soon, and will be amazing, but until then we are going on an Adventure!

  10. It is interesting to read everyone's perspective of Haunt. I understand that is it a monumental task to put on, with a limited budget due to so much focus on Winterfest. With Haunt brings a different more aggressive feeling crowd. I wonder due to the problems that Haunt brings to the various parks as there was an incident at Carowinds last weekend, and an incident at Kings Dominion this weekend if Cedar Fair is trying to tame down the Haunt.  Valleyfair has the Tricks and Treats celebration. https://www.valleyfair.com/events/tricks-and-treats  I am willing to bet this is what all the parks will head to in the next few years.  The new CEO is on record saying he wants the parks to be more family centric.

My thoughts on Haunt. I only have completed Cornered, KillMart and the Scarezones. I thought Corned could be better, the lights of Invertigo flooded the area, and made it bright. I would love to see it return to the fireworks pad, but I do not know if that is possible. The International Street scare actors were phenomenal, and costumes were very well done. They were fun to interact with, and the Ghillie suit guy got me again for like the 3rd consecutive Haunt. I need to be on the look out for him. The sliding guys are my favorite as they scare the daylights out of a lot of people.  Pumpkin patch needs to return to its old lane. Although I liked the new props. Coney Maul and clowns I hate it. Why did all the clowns have weapons? I made the bad joke to my wife that they were added security due to the fight that happened there last summer.  KillMart is fun, but they let too many people in at once. Just one group at a time and then wait a few minutes.  I will do two more mazes Friday, and Saturday. As with any regional theme park low expectations yield a fun evening.

  11. Do we want something new every year has passholders, yes? Does Kings Island need it? No. Imagine being Dorney, Michigan's Adventure, WOF, or Vallyefair who get no love at all. I am willing to bet 2024 or 25 will be a huge year for KI. As a new coaster, and hopefully 2-3 flats, and a waterpark improvements are coming.  With the large KI passholder group Ki will always be at top of chain to get something. It is also nice not to get things keeps crowds down, and we can enjoy the park for a year without pure insanity.

  12. Interesting. In my opinion Cedar Fair needs to deliver a coaster to WOF, Dorney, MA,and Valleyfair this year. I find it bs actually they do not take care of these parks in the rides dept as well. We upgraded to platinum a few years back because of my daughters wanting to visit other parks, and experience different rides because of how excited they were riding Mystic Timbers. I wonder if other families would do the same.

  13. There was a four year period between Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike at Carowinds. I would think that would be a similar time table for Kings Island. I really would like to see an upgrade to Camp Snoopy, and a flat ride package of 2-3 rides of various extremes.

  14. As coaster season is coming ever so closer, which parks do you have plans to visit this year? Us here at Bansheelover are planning on visiting Carowinds next weekend, Cedar Point at least 3 times, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Darien Lake, Six Flags over Georgia, Kentucky Kingdom, and maybe sneak in Michigan's Adventure. Of course I'd like to break my personal record of 72 Kings Island visits, maybe shoot for 80 as my goal. We will see. Have fun, ride anything that scares you, live to tell the tale!
