  1. Your mask prevents you from expelling the load of droplets you would normally expel on a coaster ride. My mask protects you, not me. Your mask protects me, not you. If everyone is covered, mouth and nose, and you are also practicing distancing, the likelihood of contact with enough droplets in the air for infection is significantly lowered. That is the principle. And that can work on a fast moving coaster.
  2. This was also a recent conversation at my house. Soak City complicates the mask requirement and lifeguard training is more intensive than most seasonal positions, I assume, so we are not planning on it opening this season.
  3. I absolutely agree. It's very likely that I made a typo and some other person's pass just got my reservation registered to it ;). But I'm sure it's okay. It reminds me of the vague process for Coasterstock which always makes me nervous!
  4. I am hoping that most of the crowd sticks with Orion--my daughter and I also have the first riders event so we will check that box on the first and focus on other rides with the whole family. Actually, we've been talking a lot about the rides which are most naturally set up for social distancing/less risk of flying droplets from fellow riders. It's been interesting and I certainly don't think we really know what we're talking about ;). But it has certainly been a curious discussion! For instance, we're feeling pretty good about Race for Your Life, and hoping that it will be open! Has anyone else been thinking about lower/est risk queues/rides?
  5. Okay, so I'm on iPhone, but I was able to use my order # to add the reservations to "me" in my app. Still no indication that they are specifically linked to each passholder by name, but they are there!
  6. Is anyone getting any more solid confirmation other than the random ticket numbers assigned to each "guest"?
  7. So I just got my reservations for the 4th! Here's a question, though, I go the confirmation email, but there is not direct confirmation of the pass codes I entered. In other words, no confirmation of you entered "XYZ code which belongs to Joe Smith's pass," or I can't find the reservation "showing" on my pass in the app or anything, like the dining plan does, for instance. Is this typical? Anyone have insight?
  8. Would have been a lovely morning for donuts and coasters...sigh :(. My daughter who will be turning 11 on Sunday (Coasterstock is her BDay tradition), has taken to making a virtual Coasterstock in Roblox Theme Park Tycoon. Unfortunately, I'm feeling a little bit like the virtual world can shove it today.
  9. I know my family would love to see it rescheduled and not cancelled. We'll go even if it's during Winterfest!
  10. Thanks, as I stated on the other thread, definitely confusing and a bit concerning. As we're pretty much in "wait and see" mode for everything, I guess that's the ultimate answer. But I think that one of the absolute BEST things any company could do for its customers right now is to offer as much clarity as they possibly can about the way forward. And, maybe it's just me, but I feel like they could offer more clarity about this. Or, they shouldn't have announced yet. We're already missing out on Orion First Riders, most likely Coasterstock, and our summer vacation included CP and MA, so the uncertainty stings a little more, I think. Also, we purchased drink and meal plans, and every day we don't get to go and our pass is not extended is a day of value lost on that add-on. When you think of the add-ons in terms of the Platinum Passes, any disparity in which park-specific Platinum passholders get the benefits is a huge issue in my mind--I paid more for my meal plan to be valid across all the parks all year.
  11. I think that would be helpful in terms of the Platinum Pass issue.
  12. Based on Mike Koontz's email, what do you think this means in terms of payments when the park opens, if it opens during the 2020 season? In other scenarios, when you defer a payment, you often have to play catch-up at the end in a lump sum. Will payments continue at their normal rate, just extending for more months? What would that mean if the park opens in July or Aug but then Nov. renewal time rolls around? Double payments for 20/21 passes? This is why allowing 20 passes to be used through 21 would be ideal IMHO. We're KI Platinum passholders, so that part concerns/confuses me, too, in light of the Knott's announcement.
  13. I took a group of college students to CP in 2007. One of them was hit in the cheek by a bedazzled cell phone that flew out of someone’s hand on Millennium Force. She had quite a mark on her face, but luckily it faded quickly and she wasn’t hurt otherwise. I have no tolerance for such behavior after that incident.
  14. Haven’t received anything but very anxiously awaiting a package! Also hoping DD doesn’t have mono or else she may have some restrictions :(. Hopefully we know Monday!
  15. Thanks @IndyGuy4KI! I think next year we'll try it. Being local to KI, Coasterstock is a no-brainer. Next year we likely won't get Platinum Passes, so that will free up some funds to use for other parks. And, of course, the dates won't overlap!
  16. DD and I loved Coasterstock so much last year that we've convinced the whole fam (DH and DS) to join us this time! DD turns 9 on the 17, last year it was her birthday celebration, and will be the same this year! DH is restricted by some health issues and DS is 6 and maybe 44 inches, so they will mostly be enjoying the tours, walkbacks, etc. Luckily DS LOVES watching the rides (especially the coasters) in motion! I also think I might get him on some of the kids coasters this year, now that he's 6! Pretty sure DD is gonna be 54 inches. That would be amazing for her, and me! Fingers crossed we love this year as much as last. Anyway, we are also going to Coastermania. Anyone else going? We've never been to it, nor HoliWood Nights, but I notice a lot of people are choosing HoliWood. We have Platinum Passes/Preschool pass this year and intend to get all the uses out of them that we can. But, we do also love Holiday World! If you've been or are going to either of these, I'd love to hear any feedback about your plans/experiences! I am really stoked to get such a great rate on the Cottages at CP for Coastermania. They are so relaxing! I haven't stayed there for at least 5 years! Sorry for the book ;)!
  17. Thanks everyone! I will let you know how it goes! Telling myself to focus on the view!!!
  18. @whengodsaysgo unfortunately no veggie pasta for me :(. Can you give me some examples of the desserts? Anything not baked/bready, like ice cream?
  19. @electricsun Thanks for the info and support! It's just the shock of it all and the bad timing. But no matter what, I am looking forward to the view from the International Restaurant most of all! Did you have any of the desserts? I guess since it'll be my birthday I'm worried/hopeful about the selection!
