When was the last floorless coaster to be installed? Just curious

This was a sad surprise. I can't believe Kings Island would remove two coasters in two years. They probably didn't want to remove Vortex this soon, so I guess it was a hard decision to make.

I could see three options here 1. RMC (Woodie or Raptor): This would be a great choice for Kings Island, as it would be a cool photogenic coaster 2. Dive Coaster: This would be another great coaster and a little less thrilling than a RMC, but KI already has a lot of B&M's rights now 3. Expansion: This is in my opinion the lease likely because the ground is really deep and they would have to level the ground maybe.

I wonder if they will finish the brake run first then start back on the lift hill.

It looks like they are putting the catwalks on the track, or maybe it's the netting.

Actually last year the last time I went, The Beast was closed two times on my visit. IDK why, but I never rode it again last year

Maybe they are starting early because of decorations around the ride? IMO, that would be cool to add little mountains/rocks around the coaster area. It could be like connected to Wonder Mountain and have a story around the mountain. Thoughts?

I agree with KIC Enthusiast. I think Kings Island's woodies are perfectly fine. The closest thing that could get a RMC treatment would probably be Racer, but I highly doubt that will happen.

My favorite roller coaster would have to be Diamondback as well. Just the airtime on those last hills are amazing. Sure, it's not the best B&M, but it sure is a favorite. (Not until KI gets a giga )

My top 5 things I want back are: 1. Antique Cars: This is rumored to be returning next year and I hope they do. They could put it where everyone says it should go, which is the tower gardens. 2. Train re-theme: I know a lot of people have said this already, but I totally agree on this. The train is really boring, barely any scenes, and weird songs (Cotton eye Joe? Really?) If it was like the Cedar Point train with some nice narration, this would be a much enjoyable ride. 3. X-Base overhaul: This really needs to happen. X-Base right now feels like a skipped area. Barely any rides and no shops, restaurants, and bathrooms. They need add some rides in there and heck, they could add another roller coaster in there! I just feel like it really needs to be touched. 4. Good dark ride: Kings Island needs another good dark ride. Boo Blasters is just really chezzy right now. Add it to the old Crypt building and there you go. 5. Giga coaster: No question. Needs to happen.

I choose Backlot because: 1. Lots of room- you can easily fit a Euro-fighter in there, as Kings Island should get one in the next few years. You can probably squeeze in a flat ride or two and maybe some shops/restaurants 2. Special Effects- This seems someone unlikely, but Kings Island might remove it because the special effects might become costly. Plus, some of the special effects don't work now when the ride first opened (RIP Adventure Express . (They could also just remove the effects and make it stay) 3. Not much a good coaster- Sure, it just a family coaster, but you have Adventure Express in the same park. That is more thrilling (just a little) than Backlot. For me, it's just a little too slow for me. Plus, this coaster is EXTREMELY short. Those are my reasons.
