  1. If they were to connect x-base to Oktoberfest/the entry of Coney Mall, something along the lines of this photo from Dorney Park on @Ride On_17 's blog post would be a lovely way to keep AE separated from the x-base expansion.
  2. I think I got in one Votex ride all season, and one 'seeker ride. I'll have to make a point to come see you on the train!
  3. I was thinking Brady Bunch too! (Fun fact: Peter (Christopher Knight) is my dad's first cousin, making him my second cousin. No, I've never met him.)
  4. Okay, so I had a dream (I posted in the dream thread in off-topic) about wearing a costume to Winterfest. Disneyland has Dapper Day, which is a fan created event where on specific days people go to the park(s) in high fashion from the 1950s up to present day. Some also Disneybound. (Google it - it's super cool. I've done this a couple times.) My questions are several: Has KI ever had an event where the guests dressed in a specific theme on a certain day? Would anyone other than myself be into doing something like this? What would our theme be? Peanuts characters? HB characters (for old time's sake)? 1972 attire? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
  5. It is! But if KICers can do anything - it's organize things. I just wonder... what? I'll cross post and see what others think.
  6. Last night I dreamed that I was on my way to Winterfest when I somehow discovered that it was "Princess Night" and costumes were welcomed and encouraged. When I arrived to the lot and found a spot, I popped my trunk and found a tutu that matched my leggings and a tiara. Then @Magenta Lizard pulled in next to me and she sprinkled me with glitter. It was a happy dream. Side note, and I may cross post this - has KI ever done any kind of themed attire event? I know Disneyland does Dapper Day, and some dress in Disneybound outfits. (Google it! ) I know we have the Peanuts characters, but I'm not that crazy about them. I think it would be fun to dress up a certain way to go to a KI event.
  7. This may be a really random question, and I may be missing something fairly obvious. Someone explain something for me, if you'd be so kind... The video promos on Facebook for Winterfest - Where did they shoot that footage? WGSG, scratching her head.
  8. I think the parking lot could use some love. Even just a little love would go a long way. The parking lot is a guest's first glimpse into the park, and it could create a bad first impression with its sad state. Perhaps more trash cans are a higher priority? I usually linger in the park after closing, as I tend to go later on any given day. It's appalling how much trash is left on the ground in the parking lot. I cannot imagine just leaving a family meal's worth of trash on the ground - let alone a solo meal's (such as my own) worth. I'd put it in my car and throw it away somewhere else if there weren't a trash can near by. I realize that the issue may not be the quantity or quality or availability of trash cans, but more so the GP's lack of respect. In any case, it saddens me.
  9. Or maybe sprinkling the DA Dinosaurs along The Bat's queue? Waste not, want not. EDIT: I realize this isn't possible. DA was an attraction with an extra cost. However, a thoughtful way to spruce up The Bat's queue.
  10. While the newly released map makes me super excited for Winterfest, it hurts my brain to not see the non-Winterfest attractions on it. I've poured over so many eras of KI maps, from the years before I remember what was where, to the current placement of the rides and attractions that replaced older ones over the years. I feel like there are holes in my vision. But I stand by my first statement: I'm SO EXCITED FOR WINTERFEST!!
  11. ***singing*** "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone, Pave paradise, and put up a parking lotttt {or flat rides or a new land or a giga or anythiiiiing} (oooh ba ba ba, oooh ba ba ba) " I think I'd have quite liked a tour, myself.
  12. I'm just so sad it's over. I think off-season blues are a thing. Anyone else?
  13. Good to know in planning for MT during Winterfest!
  14. My last ride of the season was this past Friday - a cold soggy ride on The Beast. She never disappoints, does she? I fully intended to go back to KI Saturday to end the season properly, but, I never fully thawed out from the previous night. I didn't get to meet any new KIC pals. I'm looking forward to the Holiday Party and possible Winterfest meet up(s). Question: What's the park's stance on wearing ski masks during inclement weather on coasters? whenGodsaysgo, asking for a friend. (LOL)
  15. Great blog! I can't help but wonder if KIC was around during the OG Bat's building, malfunction and eventual demise what the forums would have looked like! We lose it over a building going down over in Coney Mall, but if something started going up in plain sight without announcement - this place would be a madhouse. And quite fun to watch.
  16. I'm coming down at park open, meeting up with my cousins, and wearing LOTS of layers. I'll be with them for tonight, but tomorrow I'm coming after the 5k I'm doing and that would be the most opportune time to rendezvous with some of you. Game plan for tonight is to ride steel coasters in case it's too cold for them to start up tomorrow.
  17. I'm still planning on going. I have a couple of layers that I can sport while keeping one tied around my waist. Being a skirt girl, I donned brightly color leggings under my skirt to keep warm. One of the layers will be my Beast hoodie - to protect my ears from the chill. Part of my game plan is to hit the steel coasters tonight in case the weather prevents them from running tomorrow.
  18. Sure, I had planned on it. I was more so seeking any personal experiences or opinions as to which may be better. I'll look into it. Thank you
  19. This is my first season back to the park after a long hiatus, and I joined KIC less than 6 months ago. After reading up a bit on the KI website, I'm seeing you have to be a part of an enthusiast group to attend Coasterstock? Can someone school me in how to start and/or benefits of joining various groups? If there is an existing thread, by all means point me in that direction. Feel free to DM me with any knowledge you care to impart. Teach me, sensei(s). whenGodsaysgo, new in town, but a quick learner.
  20. I'm planning to come down Friday after work. I may or may not have my cousin(s) with me, which will mean no mazes. I'm supposed to do a 5k in Cinci on Saturday morning, and then was planning to head to the park. I'm definitely down to meet up with some KICers. I'm hoping to meet up with @Magenta Lizard and @jtro223 at some point.
  21. I love the look of the "landscape" of our park when looking at it from outside. For me that's usually coming in the back way from 75 - Taking 63 to 741. I think a big shiny Ferris Wheel would be a fantastic addition. I'm hoping for a flat either way.
  22. My faith itself allows it - it's more so that I'm committed to being at both services because I'm on the worship team, etc. BUT if it cancels for any unforseen reason, I'll be on one of the last rides for sure!
