  1. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd be fine with something other than a new coaster. Maybe add one or two new flats...or as Diana said - something the whole family can ride. I consider Delirium one of (if not the best) additions PKI has made in years. I'd be very happy with a non-coaster if it is something as great as Delirium.
  2. Nobody said PKI is getting this... He asked "Do you think Kings Island could be getting this ride".... Sounds like he's just asking for an opinion. ~~~~~~~~ I think it sounds interesting, but don't know if it'd be something I'd personally want to see at PKI.
  3. Xtreme Skyflyer was actually called Drop Zone when it was first built. But the year before (if i remember right) they added Face/Off & Drop Zone (the tower) they changed the name to Xtreme Skyflyer. It took me a while to remember the name change and stop calling it Drop Zone.
  4. I've heard some stories about JAM...Hopefully H.O.B. will bring T-wolf back to what it used to be back in the day....
  5. Slime Time Live no longers exists at PKI... It's a shame that they got rid of the last 'kids' show...

    TOD

I didn't realize Abe was still there - Yogi and/or Shman - tell him Shifty says hey!
  7. I don't know about today, but I know the park has closed early in the past. I was working the shift that it happened on. It was really cold and rainy and there weren't even 5,000 in the park...So, it DOES happen....Like I said, don't know about today though...

    PKI.com

Just an fyi - the new version ofpki.comis now up and active! Just thought I'd spread word! Edit #1: I am surprised - everything isn't updated for the new season...still showing the 2003 shows for example...would think those would've been updated w/ the new site!? Edit #2: Ok, one more edit...I'm hoping there will be a lot of updates...some of the pictures look really bad - they basically just copied from the old site directly into the new site...you'll see what I mean....maybe they are just in the process of updating right now... We shall see...
  9. Shman - I think the Hope Exhibit looks pretty cool...I'm assuming that's what you were referring to... Do you know if that will be at PT or somewhere else? Maybe bring out the big white bubble (a.k.a. Titanic Tent)! Anyone know if we're getting some of the little extras where theming is concerned, like the palm trees or whatever for the Hollywood L&F (look 'n feel)?
  10. Yea, most of the info is not 'accurate' - it's basically a lot of placeholders...One easy way to tell (at least for me) is the shows - they are all old shows from 2001 - Pop Fusion, etc. I do like the new overall looks of the new Paramount Parks sites though - MUCH better than the orange/blue thing...what an eye-sore!
  11. We know the parade is coming, We know it's only going to be at PKI for a limited amount of time. The only path I can really see using (since I don't know how much is really involved with the parade) is starting from the Eiffel Tower/Bandstand/Showplace area since it is a larger opening and then straight down past Lost Kids and keep on going straight to the Slime Bowl area...Of course that's just my guess...or maybe take a left towards the end and finish around Thornberrys/Reptar area (another larger opening).
  12. It wasn't so much about the stunt show influencing school violence - it was more about being considerate to the people who were affected by the school violence that happened around that time. The only thing that was affected within the show, was the removal of any guns because of the violence...the problem with removing the guns was that it didn't leave a lot left to the show. Also, they wouldn't have permanently cancelled a show because it was outdoors in 'open air'. The Back Porch shows, the Bandstand shows, and the International Showplace show are all 'open air'. Also, from what I've heard - and this is by no means fact - the "Hollywood style show" at Paramount Theatre isn't your everyday show, but a movie about behind-the-scenes Hollywood stuff...not really a live stage show.
  13. Actually TowerGuy, I do know for a fact that the school violence was an issue in making changes to the show. I know they took out the guns during the run of the show. As far as the show actually leaving - I don't know all of the reasons, but like you've said - it was just WAY too crowded in that area. I don't know if that was the best year for shows - I still think 96 was the best (my first usher year). However, I did like the animal shows we had at showplace - can't remember which one came first though...one year we had both a stunt show and an animal show - that must've been 98. Then 99 was just the animal show.
  14. Shman - Yes I know it well never be entirely gone...That would be a sad day if that ever happened. But I gotta admit, I miss the old days...back when I was younger up to my first year @ ET & SP. That year was one of my favorite years ('96) in the park. Back when every facility had a show, plus there were swing shows, the TV Land Band (a good-enough equiv. to the Clown Band of yesteryear), and SP's show was at night. Can you believe we could actually fill that place multiple times in a week! Gotta love those ET/SP Double Shifts...they flew by! I didn't know PT was getting a makeover. That sounds like a good thing! Completely new benches or just fixed/cleaned? I guess it's just strange seein how much things have changed. I've heard rumors about the Nick show possibly not happening much longer - You know anything for sure about that? That would be a big mistake - getting rid of the last kid's show. I just can't imagine the park without a show with a character in it (still mourning ET!). See I did get it back to the character topic!
  15. Entertainment is really goin down the crapper... Each year it slowly gets worse and worse... I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the department disappears (for the most part) within the next couple years...
  16. I totally understand what DL was saying...It isn't just your everyday wear-and-tear that happens at a T-Wolf concert. Some MAJOR damage can happen to those benches. As DL said, the main reason any of the damage happens is because "guests are too stupid not to follow the rules."
  17. The Addams Family Coaster sounds really cool to me - especially if they go all out on the theming...It actually kind of reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Disney World - with a twist of course! Like someone else said, I was also thinking the Italian Job concept sounds similar to Test Track at Epcot. I thought that ride was really cool - could be because it was only 30 degrees outside when I rode it?! Talk about a chilling experience! If I had to pick one of the two - I'd definitely go with The Addams Family Coaster - it just seems like overall it would be more appealing. Of coured, we're all just basing these comments on concepts/ideas - nothing definite. Oh yea, I don't see any of this showing up till 2006 at the earliest. Anything for 2005 should already be in the works...just the budget alone!
  18. AMEN! I almost got hit a couple times telling people to get off the benches or stop smoking. I agree that standing on benches is a big part of why the place gets ruined...the ushers and security can only do so much. My worst two T-Wolf experiences: The first time Aaron Carter came and that darn Britney Spears concert...Britney is definitely on the top of that list! A couple nights I will never forget!
  19. Rumor is they're planning to book like 20 or so events this year...I don't know who - just that they are attempting to bring T-wolf back to it's glory days! I really hope that happens, but first they need to revamp some stuff in the facility.
  20. I was planning to go to the tour, but I got a job interivew - obviously (at least to me) that had to take priority. I'm glad the tour went well and I'm VERY glad Coney is finally getting a well-deserved makeover. Heck, I'm just glad PKI is taking the time/money to actually work on up-keep. As CoasterRZ said, I have a feeling that's going to lead into an expansion in that area of some sort...whether it's a coaster or not remains to be seen...but I'm guessing something will be added in the not-too-distant future!
  21. If I remember right, I think Patrick was only used for special events...mainly in the groves.
  22. Snagglepuss was pink...Everyone always called him the Pink Panther... Are you talking about Cavey (Captain Caveman)? I know he likes to chase people! I miss the HBs also - never really liked Jabber Jaws, but definitely Fred/Barney/Yogi/Boo-Boo/Quickdraw/Dino/Huckleberry and Astro was one of my favs! I think if that Smurfs movie comes out they should bring them back...but I don't think it's that easy...If I remember right, they were a totally separate contract from the HB Characters. Talking about the Smurfs always reminds me of seeing Papa Smurfs head sitting in the back of PT years after the Smurfs were out of the park. Kinda creepy!?
  23. All you need are a few willing people and/or associates to pretend it's the middle of the summer...Doesn't even have to be warm - dress in shorts & t-shirts anyway and pretend it's warm. Pulling together a new promo would be a piece of cake... Side Note: How ya been Yogi? Long time no talk!
  24. I knew FF setup was done fairly quickly during the weekdays. I totally agree...It's just a matter of if they are willing to do this and when they decide to start WF...plus, not all areas of the park have to be used for FearFest, so they could even start making changes during the end of FF. There are definitely other things that would need to be done too - changing the fountain to a rink...planning and rehearsing a show or two...etc. I'm sure they could get people to work...I wouldn't mind working that - I've worked most other things there...need the full experience!
