  1. Just wanted to pass on that PKI.com has been updated with info on Boomerang Bay & FearFest....
  2. Here is a link to the article in the Cincy Enquirer Water park's theme: Australia I can't wait! I do have some questions though... How many slides are in WaterWorks? It says there will be 30 in Boomerang Bay. Are they moving the old slides? What about the Lazy River? Being re-done? Or just staying where it is and just re-vamping the old area? I have plenty of questions, but either way - I'm very happy this is going to happen! I especially like the quote at the end of the article! All about the diversity!
  3. I can't believe it! Doing something productive and helpful - I'm in complete shock! I hope they re-work the other houses too! You know what you'll be doing Shman, if anything? PM me if ya don't want to share on the board. I'll be out there a few times.
  4. Don't forget though - The concert is $5, but you also need to have park admission - it's not included with the ticket...For passholders, that's great! Plus we get FearFest - all in the same day!
  5. I was wondering about Scrambler - if it would be open at all...I guess it makes sense with House opening @ 3pm - I absolutely HATED setting up that queue...We could never do it the same way twice!
  6. Probably right next to you sobrider!
  7. I got my tickets Wednesday morning...6th Row Center!!! I wonder if it will be crowded?! It was very last minute for a concert, but it's hard to pass up for FIVE BUCKS!! Has anyone ever seen them in concert before? Do they have an opener? I haven't seen them before...I can't wait!
  8. It was until 1am the past couple years. I personally think it was a mistake to switch to Saturday/Sunday...but I'm sure they have their reasons...maybe it's because this way it can be an all-day event. If anything, I think they should've kept Friday/Saturday, but added Sunday also...it's only a couple extra hours anyway...But as I said, I'm sure they have their reasons!
  9. The park is open till midnight on Saturday and till 10pm on Sunday. Some of the indoor houses will open at 3pm, the others will open later...I'm guessing 8pm (like last year).
  10. OK, I was looking thru the info that I used for my PKI Project I did....One said that Paramount bought the park in the fall of 1991 and the other said it officially became Paramount's Kings Island when the 1993 season started. I know 1993 is when Top Gun opened. Anyone know for sure?
  11. I actually think it would be better if Paramount hadn't stepped in...Don't get me wrong, they've done a lot for the park, but in my opinion they seem to be in it ONLY for the money. Before Paramount took over they seemed to care more about what the guests truly wanted (i.e. better shows, less pay-to-play 'rides', etc.) I think the park would be similar in layout that it is now, but I think the overall feel would be better without. I hope that makes some sense!?
  12. CYoung - The main purpose of FearFest is the haunted attractions, not the rides...Yes the rides are important, but it's not really the main point of FF. So, I think as long as the haunted stuff is crowded, that's what is important! Of course that's just my opinion. Chatter - In past years, the haunted houses didn't open until 8pm. This year, some of the indoor houses will open at 3pm. But most will not until 8pm...maybe a little earlier, but not likely. So, you might get to do SOME of the attractions, but I have no idea how bad the lines will be this year with no extra FF charge and opening earlier...They could be longer lines, but they also might be shorter since people can start going thru earlier. It's really just dumb luck with the stuff that opens earlier. I hope that made some sense!?
  13. Are you kidding me? FearFest has been PACKED every year! Except for bad weather nights, we always had 1 to 2 hour waits for EVERY house! They don't need to up capacity...plus if they wanted to do that - they would've kept it open until 1am like last year...We were almost always busy until close! They were doing just fine...I understand not making people pay extra (especially season pass holders) because it did turn-off many, but the crowds were still there.
  14. I'm not sure I like the Saturday/Sunday vs Friday/Saturday...Don't forget, people at H.S. Football Games took away from Friday crowds too! On Saturdays the park is open till midnight and on Sundays till 10pm...Last year everything was open till 1am. However, the first two years - we were open till midnight and they changed it one night to 1am because of the long lines...I have a feeling that will happen again...Which really screws up the associates...since minors can't work past a certain time (11pm/11:30pm - can't remember) during the school year...it was bad enough sending them home early and running things with one or two people at the houses! I think the time/day switch is probably a mistake! I do think the lines for the houses will be horrible this year....maybe having the indoor ones open @ 3pm will help a little, but I doubt it. (Side note: that probably means Scrambler will close early, to make room for the House of Darkness queue line). All of the others will open at approx the same time they did last year...which means things like the Trail of Terror and Route 666 will open around 8pm. As far as the paying for FearFest issue, I agree andyatuc - It's a Catch-22...They are giving people what they want (no extra charge for FF), but I think it's going to bite them (PKI and the guests) in the butt HARD! I guess we'll have to wait and see! I'm still looking forward to it! Just my opinions!
  15. This was the first year ever that I haven't had a pass (or worked at the park)...I'm 25 now...My parents even took me as a baby...I guess 24 out of 25 years isn't too bad! YES, I did buy my pass for next year (which I guess since it gets me in this year too, I've really gone every season since I've been alive!)
  16. The price of daily admission, since FearFest is an all-day event...certain parts don't open till later, but it's an all-day event
  17. In past years, the only rides that were open during FF went from The Beast down thru Coney down thru Action Zone (that side of the park). Not all of the rides in that area, just saying that side of the park. I was always working so I never got to ride anything. The only one I know for sure was NOT open was Scrambler, because it's used as a queue line. I don't think Antiques have been open in the past, but as we've seen - those are supposed to be Route 666. I think everything else on that side of the park was open. Actually, I don't think Viking Ship was open...then again, I was always distracted working the gigantic lines at Festhaus when I was over there.
  18. Hey all...I saw a little blurb on 19 this morning, then I looked and found an article in the Enquirer. Just thought I'd share... Water Shortage I'm sure they'll work everything out...But, I guess we'll have to wait and see!?
  19. Long story short - She was a B*tch...
  20. I don't know for sure, but from what I've heard - Some stuff will be running throughout the day, but majority won't open till later - probably 8pm like last year...Since there isn't a separate admission price, you can be at the park all day... Does anyone know if they are charging a lower price for people who just want to come in later?
  21. Are you kidding?? FearFest will definitely draw a large crowd...I've worked it every year...I won't be this year though...The only nights we didn't have big crowds was because of weather...We were SWAMPED at the houses almost every night - If anyone can get in now, I think it will be a mess! Almost nightly we had up to a 2 hour wait...Considering I was one of the people in charge of the house lines...It a nightmare most nights! They TRIED to make it easier for us each year, but it never worked...hopefully they have something planned for this year's ushers!
  22. Attitude, Attitude, Attitude
  23. I'm glad the Billy concert went well - my friend and I didn't go...I figured it wouldn't be too crowded... Spears isn't allowed back - not exactly shocking news! She was a MAJOR B*tch to everyone! ~~~~~~~ Side Note: Woo Hoo! This is my 200th Post! I'm Bronze now!
