  1. That logo looks almost identical to Son of Beasts!
  2. If Kentucky Kingdom were to get a hyper coaster it would only put more pressure on Kings Island to get a giga. Take SFOG and Carowinds. After Goliath in 2006, Cedar Fair invested over 53 million USD into Carowinds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I saw this as well. This is just sad what occurred. Amusement parks are places where positive memories should be made not a place where violent and negligent acts are committed. Hopefully, The Doswell Police Department handled everything with ease and patience. Thoughts go out to anyone hurt or impacted by this incident. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'm thinking Kings Island will receive a large capital investment in 2019. Yes, I feel the time has finally come for the giga. Hopefully Kings Island could really spruce up the Coney mall area and create an amazing plaza like Fury 325's, Leviathan's or even Banshee's. Only time will tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I agree either everyone but the year. 2020 is the 150th anniversary of Cedar Point making it easy to foresee that the other parks in the chain won't get anything of much magnitude. Yes, Kings Island I predict will get a giga but in 2019 due to the fact that Dinosaurs Alive have already been removed. Look at Mean Streak as a prime example. It was closed two years prior to the year SV will open. Just a thought.
  6. I would LOVE to see that as well! Many enthusiasts talk about about how Kings Island needs to spruce up its gate. Yet, I feel it would almost take away the uniqueness of Carowinds and Cedar Points front gate. It would be amazing to see a giga with an amazing, secluded, plaza back in the woods. As for the ride it would be cool to see it weave through the woods interacting with X-Base and possibly Banshee. If Kings Island were to do this in 2019 it would be a HUGE capital investment for the park (35+ million) and I wouldn't think any other park in the chain would get any coaster. 7. @Spectrum91 I could see that. However, knowing Cedar Fair and their love for Kings Island I expect much more. I have talked to a few ride ops in the community and they predict a coaster. Whether it's a giga or some type of RMC I don't know. Since Cedar Fair purchased Kings Island the park has really been developed (Diamondback, Banshee and Mystic Timbers). Due to the fact that Cedar Point is landlocked I wouldn't be surprised if Cedar Fair would try to make Kings Island the premier park in the chain and a giga would do this perfectly. 8. I would bet my money on a huge new coaster. Yes, many Cedar Fair parks are trying to implement hotels into their park but with Great Wolf Lodge so close I don't see Kings Island going down that route. I wouldn't be shocked if we saw an expansion of X-Base as it's been a rumor for years. However, if they were to expand I think they would have to implement a coaster with the expansion. As for the coaster I'm predicting it will be either a RMC record breaking Topper Track as Kings Island differentiates itself from other Cedar Fair parks with its wooden roller coasters or a HUGE Giga coaster that enthusiasts and the GP would love.
  9. It's official Dinosaurs Alive will be going extinct after October. I feel that a new addition will definitely be added in the 2019 year. If that's a RMC T-Rex, RMC Topper or the B&M giga we all have been waiting for, I don't know.
  10. I think last year on July 28th while at the Mystic Timbers announcement I was interviewed. Is their any forum or public site that would by any chance have interview footage?
  11. My favorite elements are (in no particular order)... The first drop on Millennium Force (the floater is just sensational) The airtime hill on Maverick (back row) Top Thrill Dragster's launch Drop Towers freefall (especially with a full train) Diamondbacks insane parabolic, floater airtime hills Vortex's first drop Banshees inline twist (the hangtime is absolutely stunning) Magnum's final ejector airtime hills (not being stapled of course) Appollo's Chariots first drop Dangling over the edge on dive coasters Verbolten's vertical drop in the dark Airtime on S&S screamin' swings Initial launch while riding Slingshot models Freefalling on Skycoaster models The Beast's double helix AT NIGHT GateKeeper's wing over drop
  12. Cedar Fair parks are known for their snoopy based theming in the kids sections. It would definitely hurt family attendance if they were to get rid of the snoopy theming. I have a 5 year old cousin and he loves going to Cedar Point just to visit snoopy and the crew. Another good move by Cedar Fair.
  13. What fences? Maybe some possible flats!?
  14. I'm glad that Kings Island is hosting this great event. I can't make it but, it should be an amazing event. Kudos to Kings Island!
  15. Never been in the back but I always ride in the front. Even going back one row from the first to second row on Rougarou you can tell a noticeable difference on the ladder part of the ride. If you look Rougarou has a trim brake on the first drop. Does anybody know if they typically run with the trim on!?
  16. @Arrow Hence your name I'm not surprised lol. I don't find Vortex to be bad at all as long as your head is forward. I wouldn't go as far to say that Vortex is smoother then Rougarou. In my opinion Rougarou is slightly better but Vortex is a very solid coaster.
  17. Rougarou is not a bad floorless by any means. If you get a good ride in the front row and keep your head forward the ride isn't to rough or uncomfortable. The problem I have with the ride is the second portion of the ride (everything past the dive loop). If you sit anywhere other then the first row the ride is extremely uncomfortable as the low to the ground quick turns in combination with the classic over the shoulder B&M restraints provide for some insane headbanging. I haven't ridden Dominator but judging by the POV's it looks slightly better then Rougarou.
  18. Yes! I was referring to the gauge of the track. Nevertheless, I never knew about this and it seems quite interesting.
  19. The story line is brilliant! It would fit perfectly in X-Base and most definitely diversify the coaster lineup of Kings Island. However, realistically I feel we will see a giga before this design. Do you have any numbers on the capacity (PPH)?
  20. Never knew that! That's odd though. It would he a lot of work changing the wheel configuration as well as removing the trains from Gemini and placing them on CCMR.
  21. It seems that they may be stacking. When I was at KI last they were running two trains yet one train was always waiting on the brake run while the other was dispatching.
  22. Your right @chugh43! I was just referring to people that don't have all season dining plans.
  23. @chugh43 The logical reasoning points to a giga though (cough cough... Every major Cedar Fair park but KI has a giga). Employees that work at Kings Island have even stated there strong beliefs of a giga ( @Drummermattk). Yes, I could see a Mack launched coaster like Blue Fire or even an Intamin Blitz like Maverick coming to KI but a giga would please BOTH the gp and the enthuasists.
  24. T2 was a good SLC (Yes, I said it) considering how crappy SLC's are and the whole company of Vekoma for that matter. Watch Mind Eraser at Elitch Gardens reverse Pov and stare as men's heads are bashed around like rag dolls. I'm just glad Invertigo at KI isn't too bad.
  25. Your very correct. However, I personally do feel strongly that the name of Centurion will be used since its been trademarked for a little while and was trademarked with the name Fury. @chugh43 what are your ideas for the possible names?
