That's what I was thinking. We got there early so we got a good spot but I could not imagine waking that far... But today was our 30th visit of the year so perspectives are different for everyone. My guess is that they are doing this so that the masses of people who come for haunt (and tend to stay until close) will be parked closer together vs having what are typically more rowdy guests walking to the dark edges of the Soak City parking lot.
The implication is that those who come early for haunt get worse parking spots than those who come later... Which seems ridiculous.

At 2 when we left the parking lot (at least the party that was open) was filled all the over to the exit by Soak City. Imagine passing $20 and then having to walk a mile plus to get to the gate.

Did you ever hear anything? It is the same way today. We just left and the open parking is nearly at Max, an the way to Soak City exit. Seems ridiculous!Yeah that is ridiculous if they blocked off the close in spots first. I would want to hear an explanation from management before criticizing, but if they are silent, then the words would fly.

You pretty much have to with the exception of Action Zone and Adventure Express.
The rest you have to go through them but they are pretty mild. Me and my wife don't do the houses but enjoy walking through the share zones.

Yeah it did, just before closing i rode it in the back row for the first time and was amazed at how good it was.
If it turns out to be my last ride it was a great one!

I've discovered that in the front, after dark with sunglasses on to make it totally dark makes AE a really great ride..Yeah its very sad but I don't think i'll be getting on AE anymore after this season. It was terribly rough and jerky.

They did not last Friday evening. The gates did not open until 6.Do they open up the international street area (like they did during the Summer) before official park open or do they open the gates at 6?Sent from my SM-S767VL using Tapatalk

Just told my kids, they are really upset by it. One of them worked up the courage to ride it for the first time this year, another of them did the same last year, and my youngest at only 46" will not get the opportunity now and she would have loved it. My other three kids have ridden it for the last couple of years alot.
Seeing them upset about a coaster from my childhood leaving is interesting, I guess it's not silly to be upset about 33 year old steel coaster leaving after all.

For me I love to ride it, but love to watch it even more, beautiful coaster to view from many places in the park.

Shocked! I know it's age, I know it's rough, but it's so iconic, plus with the removal of a coaster last year and Orion coming I did not expect this. I wonder why no teasing like with Firehawk last year, except for the funeral scene, but there was no build up or anticipation.
Could this be connected to Orion, space for a Coney Mall expansion of flats? Just a thought.

No, I am not talking early entry/rides times. The past two years they have opened the entry gates at 530. Last year there was an opening ceremony at 6:00 at the bandstand, so you could walk i-street and be ready for rope drop.Kings Island doesn't do the gold/platinum early entry on Fridays during Haunt like Cedar Point does.

What's up with the gates not opening the normal 30 minutes before the park?

It was later in August last year and it could have been an off day, but they seemed very dirty and old..What timeframe was this at SFSTL? When I frequented from 2011-2014 they were the most impeccably cleaned restrooms I have ever seen. 10x better than anything at KI or CP. Since then I have only been a few times but never had any issues. Management and priorities change so sad to hear if things have fallen apart recently.

Could it be because of the renovations to the bandstand and new pavers? They may be concerned the fire handler etc. may be too hard on the new improvements. Just a thought.

That is until you carry your 4 year old all the way out. It feels like ten miles and 100lbs. It's amazing how fast they can move going to and through PS but then no motivation to walk to the car .In hindsight I’m surprised the park ever had trams in the first place...waiting for one to come by took longer than simply walking to the park. (Yes, I’m old enough to remember them in their prime.)
if you think about how much you are walking around in the park all day, the walk to and from your car is nothing!

I agree they could be better in some ways, but they are far and away 10 times better than the bathrooms at 6 flags over Texas and St Louis. Even the bathrooms by BLSC, which are usually not in that great of condition are better than any bathroom at either of these parks

That's what I expected. After the food problems we decided to go ride, Diamondback was 45-60 and mystic was down...I agree with the above statement, however, ride lines weren’t altogether terrible. I rode Beast around 5:45/6ish and the line was not nearly as bad as I imagined. Even the line for the night ride I took (got on just after midnight) wasn’t that terrible. The only line issue I really encountered was Racer, which wasn’t bad, but was moving slower than expected for some reason...

Did any one else have trouble getting food last night at the carnivale tents?
China was completely out of food at around 7, Italy was having bread issues for the meatballs, and France was out of cheese. All of this lead to me getting a refund for an unused food tasting card.
The rest of the event was extraordinary in every way, but was really looking forward to the food. Maybe I'll get to try it some other time.

Perhaps he meant 4/2020!We don't even know when Kings Island will open for the 2020 season. In fact I have a feeling it'll open earlier than 4/20.

35 total of those about 25 we had all 6 of the kids with us, the rest were date nights! We did about 10 less than the year before but enjoyed everyone.
