  1. In line for Kraken at SWO: "Yeah, I don't think this goes upside down." in line for Primeval Whirl at DAK while it was down: "It's broken because somebody got stuck upside down in a loop and died. It happens all the time." Amd finally, this conversation with another lady that I had in line for Expedition Everest: Her: I live really close to a park called Carowinds! It has the tallest coaster in the world called... the Fury 306? I sat in the front cart once! me: *internally dying* Yes... Fury 325 is amazing, isn't it?
  2. 1. Banshee 2. Alpengeist 3. Raptor l'll be at Busch Gardens Tampa tomorrow though, so Montu might change things. Edit: Montu is now my #1 invert
  3. I for one am not too sad... we are Kings Island central, so we all kinda have a clone at our home park to ride if we really want to (well, I'm assuming it's probably the home park of most people here )
  4. I'm going to Busch Gardens Tampa next week, (probably Tuesday) and I'm terrified of SheiKra. What do the first drops on dive machines feel like? Ive never done a Drop Tower but I've done a few beyond-vertical drops like Maverick and Mystery Mine. Does it feel like either of those? Thanks in advance
  5. Diamondback, just because that was the coaster I had chosen to help me get rid of my coasterphobia once and for all-- and it worked, so it'll always have a special place in my heart. 2nd would be Banshee, 3rd Mystic Timbers, 4th Beast, 5th Firehawk 6th BLSC (my first launch coaster, so that one is also pretty special to me) 7th Racer 8th Bat and 9th Flight of Fear. (I haven't been on Invertigo or AE)
  6. idek how to start this so my family took a trip down to Dollywood today, and I had a total blast! I started out my day with the second row of Wild Eagle, which was also my first wing coaster. After that we waited about 45 minutes for Firechaser Express, which was a pretty darn top-notch family coaster, plus it was my first step in starting to get over my fear of launches. I didn't mind the wait because I spent the whole time trying to calm my little sister down (after she heard about my random rivalry with Flight of Fear she decided she didn't like launches either.) But she ended up doing fine. And then I tried cinnamon bread for the first time, and oh my goodness... After the heaven that was cinnamon bread, we headed to Drop Line. While my dad was on that (I'm not a fan of Drop Towers) my sis convinced me to go on Whistle Punk Chaser with her, which she loved. We had been keeping an eye on the wait times all day, and they had all been upwards of 30-45 minutes. But after WPC the line for Thunderhead (conveniently right there) had shrunk to 20, so I rode that. It was a bit rough but not as rough as people make it out to be. It was my 3rd GCI and 1st woodie not really centered on airtime. When I got to the bottom of the first drop I thought "OMG THAT WAS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE Mystic Timbers!!" Who knows why. Probably because I was excited and I think oddly when I'm excited. We then decided to stick out Mystery Mine's 45-minute wait, which ended up being only about 30 minutes. I got to sit in the front. And I have I say, I don't understand all the criticism MM gets. Sure it's short, and maybe a bit rough, but the atmosphere and theming are outstanding. Plus it has its own theme song that plays in the queue! By the time we got off MM it was almost dusk so we decided that we should just stick out Lightning Rod's wait before it got dark. (I was too scared to want a night ride. I know that seems odd, but I only recently got over my coasterphobia!) So we sat in line for an hour and a half, and lo and behold, it was pitch-black outside by the time we got to the station. So I got a night ride anyway. And let me tell you. LR at night is the most amazing, intense coaster experience I've ever had (but with my measly little coaster count of 34 it's not like I have much experience.) Coming out of the wave turn gave some crazy forces, and that quadruple down... well, it lived up to the hype. After I had my favorite coaster experience of all time, we hit Tennessee Tornado and Blazing Fury. TT is my new favorite Arrow looper because it's so smooth (and I though the first drop was pretty fantastic too, but it was dark, so that helped.) BF was... alright. For my final ride I got a front-seat ride on Wild Eagle. A pretty good way to end the day, in my opinion. Overall, it was crowded and we didn't have timesaver passes, but I still had an amazing day- I still got to ride every single coaster, and I found a new favorite (sorry, Maverick!) So if you haven't ridden LR yet, get down there and do it! -diamondBanshee011 (is there a picture here? There's not supposed to be a picture but I'm not sure how to delete it.)
  7. I'm going to Dollywood either Friday the 24th or Saturday the 25th. I'm guessing those days will both be rather busy since it's Thanksgiving weekend, but which day would be less crowded, and what should I expect as far as wait times? Thank you!
  8. Yeah, I agree that Voyage is a pretty rough one, I only got to ride it once a day while I was there (but only because I rode the other woodies a lot and they gave me headaches too ). Also, does anyone else think Legend has an underrated night ride?
  9. We all know we want a giga... besides, ki HAS to get a Gigi eventually, so it might as well be now.
  10. Minds with great coaster tastes think alike!
  11. Yes... I'm sorry, I didn't realize you existed until it was already too late!
  12. Part of the reason for the crazy crowd today might be because the exchange student program in my area took a field trip. Really, they should have known better than to go on a Saturday, to spare longer waits for themselves and for every other guest!
  13. Well, I was going to be there today, but then stuff got complicated and now I can't go.
  14. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice about how to handle my fear Unfortunately, my family has canceled the trip we had scheduled for this Saturday, so I'll have to wait until next summer to test your methods out. More time to prepare, I guess!
  15. When I was at a pizza place a few days ago I overheard somebody talking about how they saw The Bat's train come off the track and all the people on it died. And then they said that people also died in The Beast a lot because it's so rough.
  16. I'll try that! That is... if I can work up the courage to make FoF my first ride of the day.
  17. Thank you!!! I do agree that the out-of-control feeling on the ride probably didn't help. Part of me wished the otsrs were still there so I could feel more in control, the other half of me is glad I could get off the ride with my head still intact.
  18. -DB's drop -Banshee's drop in the back row -Firehawk's vertical loop -FoF's corkscrew -The racing component of Racer and Gemini -Maverick's second launch -Maverick's i305-style turns -Raptor's first vertical loop -Alpengeist's barrel roll -Apollo's Chariot's random surprise drop at the end -Verbolten's drop track -Legend at night -Voyage's first 3 hills -Expedition Everest's backwards helix thing -Pretty much all of Splash Mountain i don't think this thread is active anymore but... oh well!
  19. When I went to KI a while ago, I went with a group that required all of us to stick together at all times, so if you didn't want to ride something well too bad. When it started raining everyone wanted to go do FoF because it's indoors. I was really scared of the launch (even though I was fine on Maverick and Backlot for some reason) so I was practically crying by the time I sat my butt in the seat. Then the ride op told us to "say ahh" and then all of a sudden boom. Launch. I hated it. The spaghetti bowl (and that last corkscrew...) was amazing, but the launch just... yeah. No more for me. But seeing as I'm going back a few saturdays from now, I would really like to make amends with this ride, but I'm scared that I'll have the same experience as last time. Tips to calm down and stop being scared of this??? I know it's not normal to be scared of launches. Also how are the crowds on October Saturdays? My family already had the trip scheduled, so it's not like I can change it, and fast lanes are out of the question with them... but how long should I expect lines for the big coasters to be? (I don't plan on doing any of the haunt stuff). also, I am a first time poster, so I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.
