  1. I've been able to use my dining plan on my season pass just fine at all of the kiosks this season...so that experience has been good. However, the food pickup piece needs improvement (i.e. chicken shack chaos). I may be the lone ranger here but we've had a wonderful food experience this season - we typically go on Sunday's, though...since crowds are lighter and we seem to always have stuff going on on Saturday's. It might be that the staff is able to execute well when the crowds are like they are on Saturday - who knows! We eat at Red's a lot to escape the heat and grab a beer if we want...I didn't know this until recently, but you can avoid the long food line at the door and order food from the bar right off your meal plan! Overall, I think this season was a VAST improvement in food quality over prior seasons...is it perfect? Heck no...but is it better? Absolutely. Lots of room for improvement, I hope they continue heading in the right direction.
  2. The beers are 9 bucks each - if you're drinking enough there to get drunk, you're dropping some serious coin. lol I actually got a beer at Red's once and finished it in Planet Snoopy...but it was probably closer to 5p lol
  3. I totally think KI has plenty of shade. I've been to some other parks where I longed for the big trees at KI. Even Magic Kingdom is lacking on shade compared to KI and boy do they need it even more than we do! lol
  4. Question about Haunt...my oldest boy turns 9 on Saturday and asked to go to KI with Fast Lane passes in lieu of a birthday party...he loves roller coasters so I know he's going to have a blast like we always do, but I was curious as to whether or not he's too young to stay for Haunt. I doubt we'd go through any of the attractions, but just the characters out in general. Thoughts? We've never stayed late enough to see any of that stuff with our kiddos in tow.
  5. I went with my family yesterday so I can't weigh in on the scare zones...but I felt like the decorations in the entrance were sad compared to years past from what I remember...at least in the daylight. We loved Pumpkin Eater, that was really neat. I can't wait to see it in the dark. I agree with what some of the others said..that it was a half-done effort. But maybe one of the other posts is right and we will see more decorations added now that the corporate events are over. Or...the theory that breaking down Haunt for Winterfest isn't worth the extra decor given the short time frame. Who knows. I really enjoyed the light crowds yesterday and all of the food I had was amazing!
  6. I wasn't really thinking SOB revival but it was interesting nonetheless!
  7. I heard from a reliable source that it's Firehawk... But also was curious as to what everyone's thoughts are on the crates outside of The Beast. Sorry they are sideways...but notice the lettering.
  8. I think that's a really cool idea!!!
  9. Who is going to be there tomorrow to report back?? I can’t wait! But I can’t be there. Ugh.
  10. The photo booths are so fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes! Two days ago, we had flat tires on our jogging stroller and noticed it after we had gotten in the park. I went straight to the Family Care Center and asked the always-awesome staff there if they had an air pump. They always seem to have everything for families like us [emoji23]. They didn’t but called maintenance and the sweetest boy came to the rescue. Pumped both tires up and even did so while I took my daughter inside to change her and wash her hands. He was amazing as were the ladies in the center. I was so impressed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. We were there today and it was awesome!!!! Flight of Fear was a walk on. Whaaaa?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Jukebox was solid today. My family and I had 4 diff meals - I got the Smokehouse burger and it was awesome! Then my son and I went to ride WindSeeker and he was just not quite tall enough - so close though! Sorry@Vortexbfforever if we caught you off guard but I recognized you pretty easily. The pigtails Lol My son was kind of relieved he wasn’t tall enough since he’s been nervous to ride Banshee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Did anyone make it to the kickoff of the Peanuts celebration this weekend? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That’s the last job I’d want to have at KI - dress code enforcement. I’d rather clean the bathrooms at Soak City. lol I can’t imagine!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Oh my!!! Yeah, I was at the water park all day Monday and kept seeing the same woman with a black bathing two piece on and the top had, In HUGE white letters, “CUTE AF” - let me just say, it was no where near accurate. lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. We were there all day Sunday - it was crowded but everything was in good shape! Ate at Island Smokehouse a couple times using all 4 meal passes so we sampled everything lol It was excellent! The smoked wings are legit. We saw Chef Major back there working hard, too. So refreshing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. We went up Sunday evening and arrived right when that message was being played - my kids flipped out and almost started to tear up lol I assured them it was a mistake, which it was. But I thought it was kind of funny, there were a lot of people looking confused. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. How insane are crowds on Memorial Day? I never thought to go before but we have some commitments Saturday/Sunday and I'd really like to get a visit in over the weekend!
  20. Where was this last picture taken? That's beautiful! I've never been to Cedar Point, so I'm not familiar with the area...but dang, I need to go sometime!
  21. Agree - I love Vortex but don't love the headaches. My 36 year old neck and head cannot take it. lol
  22. I agree...we come from KY as well and unless the interstate is a parking lot, you're better off going slower straight through than trying any of the alternate routes. I wish there were a better way!
  23. I live about 15 miles east of Lexington KY and it's an hour and 40 minutes for me. The ride home always feels much shorter since a good 30 minutes of our drive is after we've passed in to Ohio so for some reason, the I-75 part of the trip flies by going up and back, but going up the distance between the Ohio river and KI seems like it takes forever!! We take 64 to 75 and then 71.
  24. I think to qualify as an actual area of the park, the area has to have a restroom. lol
  25. I would disagree with this somewhat in that it wouldn't be worth the return to tear it down. Even if it doesn't require much maintenance or upkeep, it's still a valuable asset that ultimately costs them money to insure and whatnot. Now as for what would go in its place, who knows. I think Action Zone could use something but I'm not exactly sure what. It seems so dead-end and there's nothing for my 5 year old to do over there, so there have been many trips that we never even set foot on that part of the park. I do wish they'd do more with it. It's so weird to me that it just sits back there totally idle except for Spirit Song.
