  1. Find a mom with a stroller and ask her to stash it in her diaper bag. Trust me, no issues. hahaha
  2. Ahhh gotcha - we are in Winchester and I keep wondering if there's a good way to try and knock off some time. We take 64 to 75 as well, I may try to explore some alternate routes. My kids are pretty good about the car ride but after a long day at the park, I'd give anything to shave off an extra 10-15 minutes!
  3. Right?? lol "Hey Jimmy, we're gonna need you to bring that goal of yours in on your next shift..." I mean, they're the Harlem Globetrotters! You'd think their mobile setup would be a little more sophisticated.
  4. We decided to skip it. The basketball goal they had set up looked like something at the end of a driveway for kids to play on...which kind of made me think it would end up being rinky dink. Looks like we didn't miss much!
  5. We saw the new show for the first time on Saturday night - we absolutely loved it! My kids went wild...we've done Disney a few times so the bar is set high and they were so impressed! My 8 year old actually got teared up during it and my 5 year old was sobbing after it was over because he didn't want to leave. This is not how our nights normally end lol usually they're ready to go home and are tired. I was happy to see some tears of joy on their faces - they were still talking about it during breakfast this morning.
  6. RFYLCB was down yesterday and my kids were swearing that it was because a boat was stuck on the hill to the drop. Was there any truth to that? I did notice that the water was not running. We had bad luck as well - I was trying to hop on Banshee with my friend while her husband watched all our kids (6 of them lol) so we ran over there and they literally put the ride closed sign up right in front of us...so then we were going to hop on Delirium since we were right there and just as we were in the next group to ride, they closed it down as well. But...it was due to storms.
  7. What's your shortcut? I drive up from Kentucky as well.
  8. So who all got drenched yesterday?? lol! It was the perfect day until about 5pm when the rain moved in.
  9. They could do something similar to the Hollywood Studios Disney Jr. show at Disney...where there's just carpet on the floor and the kids all gather around. Something like that would be soooooo nice for someone like me with three kiddos that are all pretty young!
  10. If you get there when the park first opens, it will be really nice!!! We were there Sunday before last and it felt like we were the only ones there for about 2 hours. It did start to get crowded later but nothing by comparison to normal Sundays after school is out. Have fun! If I end up taking my crew on Sunday, I'll be the one with two young boys and a toddler girl in a stroller who will probably be trying to get out of said stroller. Hard to miss. hahaha!
  11. Oh and I am pretty sure that we met you last year and didn't realize it. My son was riding Vortex for the first time and was scared to death and I distinctly remember a female ride op that was talking to him about it being her favorite ride. lol
  12. I vaguely remember that theater from back in the day. But here's to anything else they can add that is indoors and air conditioned!!!!!
  13. So where is the "Enchanted Theater" and the "Peanuts Playhouse" that are mentioned on the locations in the lineup?
  14. I saw all this last week as well and wondered if I had lost my mind or if it was new! These shots are better than the view I was able to get. I noticed it all first when I was riding Flying Ace.
  15. Oh my gosh, yes...even my kids were saying that when we got home. It's about an hour and a half drive for us.
  16. We logged 23,500 steps on Sunday! Craziness! It didn't even feel like it.
  17. I went through this on Sunday - they gave me a new gold pass (for free) that has the QR code on the back. They also gave me a lanyard that has a clear pouch for my pass for easy scanning - which, while some may say it is dorky, it was soooo handy!!! I ended up putting mine and my kid's passes in it so I could get to them easily for our meals as well. Once you get that, you just scan the pass with photographers or at the ride pic booth.
  18. Overall food service this past Sunday was great! This is our first year with the meal plan and I can say with certainty that it was the best decision for us! It was such a good feeling to know that my boys and I could all get what we wanted and eat at the same time...then be done and go on with our business. For lunch, we ate at Festhaus - boys had pizza and I had a burger. Everything was good, very fresh! For dinner, we did Coney BBQ - my youngest and I had the chicken - gigantic portion! We both loved it. My older son had the sausace - again, huge portion but it was a little salty. He ended up sharing our chicken but also loved it. Mac and Cheese was okay - nothing to write home about. We saw Chef Majors a couple of times, roaming around the park. I was very impressed! We also met up with some friends of ours who were eating at Reds and all of their food looked delicious! Can't wait to give it a try next time.
  19. I finally made it to the part this past Sunday! What a great day to go!!! The weather was cool but not too cold and boy were the lines short! I think I may have seen a few of you all but not sure. I could definitely tell that a lot of cleanup was done during the off season - the area around the new Coney BBQ looked really nice! I had never even noticed the other covered dining area behind the carousel before, which turned out to be a very nice place to eat. I'm going to leave some other comments on the food discussion thread but all positive so far! Can't wait to make it back again!
  20. Question- if I have a child who isn’t tall enough for a ride and one who is, will they let my other child hang out in the station while we ride? I remember doing this when I was little but I know things change lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. YES!!!! I actually got tears in my eyes when I heard the ET music last Summer for the first time. It really took me back to times when I went to the park with my family and my dad & brother have both recently passed away so I almost had me an ugly cry moment.
  22. I am pretty sure my 8 year old is 52 inches - he's been dying to ride Banshee!! Fingers crossed. We'll be going on Sunday for the first time since Winterfest!! It's also our first year with all season dining.
  23. I plan on going with my husband and three kiddos this Sunday! I assume the crowds will be pretty light Sunday...but....I guess you never know!
  24. It's perfect!! I loved the fire pits during Winterfest.
