    pre k pass

I wonder if other parks that do this have a limit on the number of kids that can obtain free passes....I would say that one, maybe two but that seems pushing it, per family would be enough to give those families the feels. Like for us, my 5 year old had a pass last year and that felt legit...but when my daughter turns 3, I'll feel pretty salty about having to buy her a pass...lol

Agree 100%...it's great that kids under 3 get in free, but kids between 3-5 and their families do just what you described...Plus I'm pretty sure parents of kids this age spend more money on treats, gift shops, etc. It's an age that is really hard to say no to! Heck, I've had to buy gift shop clothes for my kids at that age because of some sort of casualty. lol
  3. I didn't know that! How neat. I went to many games at that park...we normally sat in the blue seats but did sit in the red seats once - talk about friggin' scary! There was very little space between the rows and they almost felt like they were tilted forward. I remember feeling like I was going to fall to my death.
  4. When in doubt, just use a winky face.
  5. ^^ When I watch older movies with my kids (recently "Jaws"), they comment on how all of the people smoke all of the time...ever since they've brought it up, I notice it as well! It was just totally normal back then for everyone to walk around with a cigarette. One scene in Jaws, Sheriff Brody takes a big long drag and tosses the butt in the ocean! My 8 year old was all, "He's a smoker AND a litter-er!"
  6. I'm showing my age here...but this is kind of funny. So I remembered going on this safari as a little girl, probably when I was about 5...and apparently didn't go back to the park again until after the ride was removed. When I went back and it was gone, I had for years convinced myself that I was a crazy person and that I had never been on a monorail safari at KI, that my 5 year old self just imagined it. No one I knew that had been to KI as a kid remembered it and even my parents werent' sure what I was recalling - yet they were the ones that took me... Then lo and behold, one random day a couple of years ago, I decided to google it all and I found all kinds of pictures, history, and even some video. It was nice to know that I wasn't crazy This article was very cool to read, thank you for sharing! Looks like a lot of work went in to gathering all of the history and details of the incident.
  7. Boo Blasters is a ton of fun when your gun actually works...and when it doesn't, all I do is sit and think about how much cooler the whole ride could be...the worst is when I'm on it with my two older children, both boys...and one of their guns works and the other one's doesn't. They bicker and fight the whole entire time. lol
  8. @LoadAndGo - does the book cover successful line operations and rider wait time reduction? One thing I always notice and admire about Disney is how they queue up riders for the next ride. Instead of the line operator leaning around on one of the posts waiting for the ride to finish, they could be asking the "how many" question and doing measurements as needed for riders waiting in line. On some rides Disney will even have people stand on a painted numbered spot on the ground, letting them know which car to go to, which eliminates the chaos. They also rope off the next group of riders, which I always liked. This would be such an easy change to make - just training and slight modification to the ride queue...
  9. I have a feeling that social media plays in to this a lot as well - a cool theme to a ride will get people talking, taking pictures and sharing them, etc. I also think CF knows that the demographic spending the most money in the park remember the days long before CF, especially the Paramount years, where theming was a huge element of the experience...I have worked in marketing for over 15 years and it's all about pleasing your top spending segment, knowing the efforts will trickle down to the other segments and make them happy as well...creating a whole new generation of park enthusiasts and the cycle just repeats itself.
  10. ^^Not only that, but they'd get super hot! Don't wear your booty shorts if they change them black.
  11. I honestly think KI now just uses the standard Muzak channels, which is so disappointing and quite honestly, distracting. When I was a kid/teen, I distinctly remember very thematic music - not just the Paramount days either but even prior to that...The fountains on international street even seemed synced with the music, with the fountain height and colors varying as the music varied. I don't even think this would be a hard improvement for them to make...I've noticed the international street music is same/similar to the Paramount days, which is cool...but it's lost its gusto, so to speak, in terms of syncing with the fountain activity - so that could be fixed. The Peanuts franchise has some killer music, so that could be updated. Coney Mall needs more dated era-type music, etc. I think I could go on for days about this because I really miss how well it used to be done (or at least as well as my memory serves me).
  12. I wear glasses all of the time - I get headaches if I don't - however...I only take them off for rides when on The Beast and Vortex, which I think someone else posted the same earlier. Funny enough, my profile pic is of my son and I riding The Beast (his first time). I once forgot to take them off on The Vortex and panicked and held them the entire time...at which point, I thought I was going to crush them. I do not recommend this. lol Sometimes I will take them off for other rides but I usually forget...and there has been a time here and there where I'll freak out and ask one of the ride operators if I can stash them somewhere safe for the ride and they've put them up with the person in the control room or on a safe ledge somewhere.
  13. ^^YES!!!! Yes yes yes..... Feeding my younglings is always a chore, anything covered or air conditioned makes it easier...hah. If they lay it out like Soak City on the line side of things, it should operate pretty efficiently as well. Fingers crossed!
  14. Personally, I'd love an Island Smokehouse Part II - I thought it was well thought out and even when the line was pretty long, it moved fast and the bottleneck of the checkout seemed lessened somehow compared to other places. I'd really like to see lots of indoor seating or covered seating, kind of like the Chicken Shack in Action Zone. Either way, a new restaurant will help dilute the traffic at the other restaurants in CM, which will make me super happy!
  15. I completely agree...ummmm...go look at the prices on both right now. The gold pass is actually cheaper. Wth... Based on all I've heard about the sneak peek night, they should at least consider running two of those vs. just one. Imagine being one of those teenagers working a food venue getting baptized by fire on a day that isn't even opening day. lol
  16. Just curious as I'm only going in to my second season as a passholder, but what kind of perks did they used to offer? What kinds of things would you like to see? And...if there are so many passholders now, what could they offer that would make sense? This sounds like a fun discussion to start... Also - is this somewhat of an industry theme? I have heard similar complaints from Disney passholders that there's minimal perks nowadays compared to prior times.
  17. That's a great read! I'm trying to imagine the disappointment of it going from an amazing ride to the hokey version with the screeching bat. It's astonishing to me that CF couldn't have found a way to make it work in a way that would live up to the original ride (while I never rode it, this article makes it sound like it was something I would have loved...much like the old Questor ride at Busch Gardens Williamsburg...the queue was just as awesome as the ride part--funny, I think I was only about 10 when I rode that ride and still remember it vividly). Anyway, with all of the artistic talent that can be found around Cincinnati, you'd think they'd have given this more of a fair shot. Thanks for sharing!!
  18. I was doing this last year with the one-day passes every 90 minutes...I literally spent the entire day in line. It sucked!!! And I was always the one with the wristband for the pass so I had to wait in line. I did figure out which places to go that didn't have much of a wait but still decent food. I'll just be relieved for us all to wait in line twice a day vs. me standing in the lines alone and then someone being hungry 20 minutes later.
  19. The thought of doing that with three kids makes me want to just...cry. lol
  20. Holy crap! I'm glad I went ahead and bought it as well. I was so on the fence about it and then just pulled the trigger and did it. I saved 100 bucks as well on our 4 plans. Woohoo! This is my first time with the dining plan and I am oddly really excited about it...mostly about how much time it will save us being able to all sit down and eat at once.
  21. I'm wondering if it will be less insane this year since there isn't anything big and new like Mystic Timbers.... hmmmm..... Last year was my first year as a season passholder but we renewed this year. Can't wait! I might just brave the insanity.
