  1. It's still super successful because of how it is a destination park. Sandusky is also a tourist town with the resorts and stuff. People like going to the middle of Lake Erie on that peninsula.
  2. I honestly like Cedar Point's location. Yes, Sandusky is a small town with a bunch of factories. Cedar Point had always been a destination place ever since it opened. It was originally supposed to be a vacation spot on Lake Erie where people could come and swim in Lake Erie.
  3. Remember plans can change. Maybe KI decided that it would take a little too much time to dismantle it and they want to get it down as fast as possible.
  4. I've been hearing rumors that they are going to tear down the SOB station so that they don't have anything related to SOB.
  5. I'm getting a little tired of making the giga concepts for now. I'm taking a break. I'm also gearing up for April when we start seeing construction at the park. I'm sure opening day 2019, most enthusiasts will be headed to FOF first to check out the Firehawk plot of land.
  6. Hawaiian Coasters 325 had a great season at KI. I went to pass preview and was only there for a little bit. I got to ride Mystic Timbers and Beast. I also got to meet a very popular social media star who goes to KI a lot (Nick Horton). Coney BBQ was really good. They had pretty good ribs and the pulled pork is also amazing! In June, a youth group from a church in Indiana whose leader used to be the youth leader at my old church when I lived over there came and I tagged along with them to KI and it was fun. I knew a bunch of those kids from when I lived over there. The only thing I had to put up with was them constantly asking me questions and them expecting me to know the answer for everything since they knew me as an enthusiast. Since Banshee was a walk on a lot this year, I got to marathon it several times. I got to attend Haunt a few times this year, but didn't go into mazes. I also got to go to Cedar Point on a Friday in August. I probably picked the rainiest day of the year to go, but I got to ride Steel Vengeance and when the rain finally cleared up, I got to ride with no lines. I then went to KI on the last day of the regular season and originally Firehawk wasn't going to open, but it was amazing that they finally got it up and running so I got to get one last ride in. I only got to go to Winterfest once, but it was good. I got to ride Mystic Timbers in the back row in the cold and it was Insane! Probably the best ride I've ever gotten on MT. Anyways 2018 was a good season and am excited for the 2019 season!
  7. I was thinking something like Copperhead Strike in Oktoberfest as the next coaster after what's going in Firehawk's plot of land (hopefully giga, but could be a wing).
  8. I know everyone wants a giga and so do I, but I definitely would not count out a B&M wing coaster. That would actually fit well with what they are talking about with the Xbase signs. Look at Xflight at Six Flags Great America. Plus they could break the records from GateKeeper with it if they wanted to.
  9. You can refill your drinks in Action Zone, if you can stand waiting in a clustered chicken shack that is always noisy.
  10. PBS Kids Island anyone?? Curious George ride, Super Why ride, Clifford Ride, Caillou Ride, etc! Probably Just me, but I grew up with PBS Kids and was obsessed!
  11. I honestly have been thinking the next coaster after whatever goes in Firehawk's location should be in Oktoberfest. I honestly think they should relocate the latter game. Maybe even relocate Slingshot. I think the coaster could run over the pond near Viking Fury. There are two options I thought of. You could do a Mack Double Launch coaster like Copperhead Strike over the pond and give it a nice Oktoberfest style theme or you could even do a B&M dive coaster there and have an underwater tunnel like Yukon Striker. I don't see Viking Fury going anywhere, but they can work around it. But that would be the big way to start upgrading Oktoberfest. Then maybe some flat rides in that area. My theory is that the whole Coney Mall/Xbase/Oktoberfest area is going to be the main focus over the next several years.
  12. KI's GM Mike Koontz actually at coasterstock announced that he recommended to the board of Cedar Fair to invest in a giga coaster for Kings Island so they already do realize how good of a fit a giga would be. Hopefully Cedar Fair agrees.
  13. I was thinking. Does the giga (if it is a giga) necessarily have to start in the old Firehawk entry area? I know this sounds unusual, but there is that land on the left side of FOF where you can have a station there and have the lift hill go overtop the FOF building and drop into the Firehawk area. Plus an upside is they can connect Xbase to the main midway (oktoberfest). Heck, they could even give the giga an Oktoberfest style theme. They could also do what we've been speculating which is turn the Firehawk station into a Haunt. I will be coming out with a concept with an Oktoberfest style theme with this idea. I'm just saying that they don't necessarily have to use the old Firehawk entry area as the entrance to the new coaster. During the season, they could turn that area where Firehawk's entrance was into like a viewing area where you can watch the drop. And at Haunt, use the Firehawk station for Haunt.
  14. It would be a huge stretch to have a wooden coaster go over 400 feet. There has yet to be a wooden hyper since SOB.
  15. Cool, but when I think of Centurion, I don't think of space. I think of an army and a kingdom. I think Centurion would fit in with the Kings Mills area. But, I don't know about Xbase though. But, I don't think too many people thought Banshee could work in Action Zone back when the name was rumored because AZ was more themed to a stunt zone. But, it works now. Maybe they could do that with Xbase.
  16. **sorry for the double post** I wasn't an enthusiast during the time leading up to Banshee, but I do know that in 2013, they had a teaser sign that said that due to mysterious screams, they had to close that part of the park down. Then they put stuff in the construction fence. Like for example a scarecrow was put right in front of a crack that people would look in to see what was going on back there.
  17. I honestly think a space themed giga coaster would be excellent. How about it themed to aliens or a meteor.
  18. Yes they are. It's been rumored for years. I would love one, but I'm not like setting my heart on it like others are. This B&M coaster could be a wing coaster, a dive coaster, or maybe even a B&M flyer. If I were to pick what B&M coaster it would be, I would go giga.
  19. Coaster Nation on YouTube told me there is markings at Dino's Alive on their Nolimits giga concept video. I don't know how to believe this since I've heard all sorts of stuff all year on land clearing at the park. Can anyone confirm this at all?
  20. Ok guys according to Emotional Rollercoasters on Instagram. The new posters in FOF's queue line may be more than just decorations for "flight of cheer". If you look closely and study the posters closely, there are some things that caught my eyes that could be hints at a new coaster coming. These include Firehawk being pictured on a calendar, an alien in the air inside the vertical loop of the pic of Firehawk, the number 355 at the bottom of the calendar, the word Centuari written right next to the Firehawk pic that could reference the name Centurion, and a big one is the calendar that has Firehawk on it was discovered that it matches the 2020. Just wanted to throw it out there. Please take it as a grain of salt since they could just be messing with us and not mean anything, but this is something that we could keep in the back of our heads.
  21. Today's concept goes along with the space theme that FOF has. I give you Alien.
