Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Now the Cleveland Clinic CEO is saying the peak may not come until mid may-mid June. That shows that any of hope of the park opening in May might be pretty much dead. Sorry guys. We can still hope and pray it comes earlier and cases go down and we can open in late May or early June, but now that is starting to seem unlikely to me. -

This wouldn't be the first time KI opened a multi million dollar coaster during a bad economic year. Diamondback opened during the 2008-09 recession and we saw a huge drop in attendance that year. If anything, 2021-2022 should be when we see the biggest affect Orion has in terms of attendance and revenue. -
Not that I know of. Any talk of the season being cancelled is just pure speculation at this point.

You know what would be awesome is if they bring back the old Kings Island logo for the 50th anniversary in 2022!

I think that's the slingshot vehicle

Timberwolf was labeled on last year's map.

Is it just me or does it look like the on ride photo on Flight of Fear is returning. I think I see two camera symbols in Area 72.

Likely will be extended especially with the stay at home order (which will very likely be extended tomorrow).

No I'm serious. Here is the link to the blog that features it: https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog/fun-things-to-do-with-the-kids-at-home-inspired-by-cedar-point

Cedar Point's 2020 map was released. I wonder when ours will.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks

I say if we get to a point where we open in mid-late summer or not at all, that's when we could see something like that happen. -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I honestly don't think the park when replacing a coaster looks too much into how close the replacement is to the former ride. In fact, I would argue that KI chooses not to replace a coaster with a very similar coaster type. Like they didn't replace SOB with another wooden coaster. They also didn't replace Firehawk with another flying coaster. So if they were to replace Vortex with a coaster, I doubt it would be a sit down looper or floorless (a floorless is pretty close to a standard sit down looper, but is a little different.) -
Kings Island and Cedar Point opening Mid-May

I agree with that. I know people love to trash DeWine, but I always say that he doesn't play around when it comes to this. Like we had very few cases and he took action right away. That's imo a great thing. -
What KI Rides Have You Never Been On?
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to King Ding Dong's topic in Kings Island
I also haven't been on the 2 newest rides in Planet Snoopy as well as Tropical Plunge in Soak City. I haven't been to Soak City in years mainly because I try to avoid Soak City because the lines for slides take forever. -

I'd be fine with it, but it is not my first choice. If I was running the park, I wouldn't go with that. I would probably go with an RMC ground up or multi launch coaster (probably Intamin) but I'd be fine with Mack. -

The only ones I have not done is the two up charge attractions (Slingshot and Xtreme Skyflyer). -

I used to be obsessed with Viking Fury years ago. I remember that would be one of the rides we would hit in order to end out the day. A local carnival in Maineville (that no longer takes place) one year had a swinging ship carnival ride. I didn't ride it though because for some reason I was scared. I also rode the swinging ship they had at Ober Gatlinburg years ago. -

I don't think they should remove Viking Fury. It is a very family friendly attraction that basically the whole family can ride. -
Well it's finally April (the month that was supposed to be when we would be riding Orion)! March 2020 was probably the longest month of my life lol! Hopefully hopefully hopefully (fingers crossed) that this is the final full month of not being able to visit the park (not counting on it though).

Source on that?

I say if the next big addition were to be in Rivertown, that's when they could repaint Diamondback similar to when Valravn was built where they repainted Raptor.

KI should set up a game using those things! Like in Soak City and/or during the summer nights event currently planned. -

Vaccines can take a year or more to develop and be ready.
