And Dollywood postponed. Is anyone really surprised anymore?

It sounds like we are about to go under a national emergency!

Tbh I think an around April 4th opening is kind of a stretch imo. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a few of these parks delay their opening a little longer.

Kings Dominion just postponed as well

TBH now I'm actually expecting a delayed opening. My main question is will they still do a media day/first rider event for Orion? Likely around the time of the new opening?

I think it would be cool to go through Chaos to get to Orion, at least until the lines die down (kind of like having to go through The Crypt/Madame Fatale's to get to Mystic Timbers on Preview Night 2017). They could start the line from where you come out of the maze, put switchbacks behind the building (like the maze had for Haunt), go through the maze, and then upon reaching the exit, curve back around to the Orion line. It would be complicated, but it would be so cool!
If they were to do that, I would hope they turn the LED lights and maybe the sound effects on.

I'm hoping the prop building features some cool LED light and sound effects similar to inside the chaos building.

yeah and I'm tired of people who make fun of Dolly Parton inappropriately.

Here's the thing, the governor referenced gatherings as "events" like festivals, parades, etc. An amusement park is not an event. Yes, they offer events, but KI is not considered an "event" itself. It's a business. However, they could close it or delay opening if they feel that it's just not worth it with the conditions. I could see a delayed opening. Or if they do open on time, I wonder if the first riders auction will be affected since that is an "event" or if it goes long enough, maybe coasterstock could be affected.

Did the 2008 recession have anything to do with Cedar Point going 6 years between Maverick and GateKeeper?

Per Intagram, Winter Jam is cancelled!
They are required to cancel by law.

And it begins...
Now we ask, who is next? I wouldn't be surprised if magic mountain or Knott's are next.

Folks, we have our first American park closure:

Schools are for 3 weeks (I'm kinda expecting it to go a little longer than that). For the gatherings, nothing was mentioned, likely until further notice.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember shortly after the lift hill was finished I saw a blue LED strip on the hill. To my knowledge, they haven't used it since last year.
Are you talking about this:

I heard Cedar Fair just sent out a statement.

The Reds Opening Day parade was cancelled. A lot of festivals will be cancelling as well. I'm interested to see if it will affect Taste of Cincinnati which takes place at the end of May. Hopefully it improves by then.

I imagine training is starting soon or has already begun. Hopefully most of the hires will still be available after a possible delay.
I'm working in rides this year and on ride training is scheduled to be held at the end of the month. However, it is subject to change.

So if opening day does get delayed, what would be your guess on the day the park would actually open? My guess currently is likely the end of April. Would they still do the first rider auction and media day, but would be postponed?
