  1. Tbh the more I look at that land, I actually think that would be a good location for a Forbidden Frontier type attraction. Like they could have some of it in the open and some of it go back into the woods near Beast.
  2. I'd love an infinity. My biggest question is what could they theme it to? I don't know of any themes that could fit with Coney Mall that could fit with something like that and it's light package.
  3. I love chicken shack, however, I hate that they took away the self serve hot sauce they used to have. I loved just putting hot sauce on my plate. Now you have to order hot sauce with your chicken.
  4. I was sent the videos and I saw they are indeed putting up a giant wooden fence where Vortex was. Likely just a keep out fence since I do not think there is a coaster going there yet especially since we are getting Orion. However, tbh I would like them do do something on the fence like advertisements or decorate it to make it not look like an eyesore in Coney Mall.
  5. Is it the one from 4 days ago that Kings Island posted on their blog that was posted on YouTube by JL Thrush?
  6. Lots of things. Mainly the reliability. But I will go over a few key ones: Maverick's heartline roll Intimidator 305 being too intense And the final straw was likely the shoot the rapids incident in 2013.
  7. I think it's for the lockout/tagout things that employees have to do from time to time.
  8. I don't know. KI did just take out a flying coaster and I think if they built a flying coaster too soon after removing one, the GP will be like "that's just like Firehawk, but you go up the hill on your belly rather than laying down."
  9. I'm honestly surprised how many people are against an RMC of any type coming to Kings Island. Yes, I'm against a conversion of one of our wooden coasters, but I'm all for a ground up. But it's all the matter of opinion. I can understand why some people wouldn't like them because the restraints aren't the most comfortable.
  10. I definitely think that when looking at what coasters they should add down the line, make sure we keep height requirement in mind. If we are just building these massive b&m coasters that are 54", while it's good for us or the teens or people who are into big thrills, it's not good for the families who have young kids and want stuff the whole family can enjoy. I think another family coaster or a coaster that is 48" or less should either be the next coaster or the one after. Mystic Timbers was a good step in that direction. Plus KI just removed a coaster that has a 48" height requirement. So if they were to remove another 48" height requirement coaster and not replace it with a 48" height requirement or less, I think that wouldn't be the best for families with young kids who want stuff for the whole family.
  11. I agree. @DonHelbig if you guys were to get an RMC, I would love to see a ground up topper track that goes out into the woods (similar to Outlaw Run). However, I think we should all be happy with what we have and look forward to and enjoy Orion.
  12. I he won't. In fact, I remember at coasterstock a couple years ago when that kid asked Mike Koontz about RMCing Beast or Racer, when Don closed it out, he called out that kid lol.
  13. Will there be a light strip on the lift like Fury? If yes, would they travel up similar to Valravn?
  14. New blog about aerial footage of Orion https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2020/march/aerial-view-of-kings-islands-new-giga-coaster-opening-in-april
  15. I made another concept of an intamin blitz coaster in Rivertown. It requires removing the crypt building and would have the entrance and queue right next to Beast. Maybe they could build a wooden queue house to go with Beast. Opening year for this would be 2027 (20 years after Maverick). Just a concept and I don't see this coming due to Cedar Fair's relationship with intamin.
  16. Recent Instagram post from fye coasters:
  17. Definitely a possibility. I could see it, but not expecting it.
  18. And we see the dirt space from what was Vortex.
  19. That's awesome! Also, you can see that they are building an enclosed quonset hut before the stairs. Hopefully something cool is in there!
  20. Actually, I believe in the GateKeeper documentary, they talked about how they run softer wheels for testing and then put the harder wheels on and run it with the harder wheels.
  21. Another reason why I miss Nickelodeon Universe. However, I never saw the parade in person. I've seen some little videos of it and it looked like a blast!
