I went to KD for the first time last September and was immensely disappointed the ride was not operating. I assured myself one day I would be able to ride it, but it doesn’t look like it will be so. At least I got to see the structure in person.

The roller coaster at the New York, New York Hotel is the worst I’ve ever been on. I have never had to physically recover after a ride until I rode it. Had to sit down for a handful of minutes. Never going to ride again.

I wonder why they didn't include this in their announcements this summer? I would think this would have been a perfect pairing to announce with the Antique Cars. Kind of like a Coney Mall Makeover with the BBQ, Cars, and Racer Re-Track. Maybe they thought this would overshadow the Antique Cars announcement?

Tried the Pull-a-Part Cinnamon Bread from the Turkey Leg Stand last night. I thought it was pretty good! For some reason it was 50% off, plus it stacked with the Gold Pass 10% off. Overall, the park was really busy. About a 45 minute wait on both MT and FOC. Peanuts showplace was full for the What the Dickens first show of the night. The train was at full capacity when we rode. I would say it was a fantastic night for KI business wise.

I went this past September and found the location of some of the rides to be odd. Intimidator 305, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and FOF are all part of the Safari Village section. Dominator is right by itself in the front of the park, with Planet Snoopy being in-between it and the rest of the park.

It was me! Thanks for riding with me. That was probably one of my smoothest rides on Vortex. I think the rain really helped out.

Just wanted to give a big thanks to KI and the Firehawk crew. They did a great job making sure they provided their best effort to keep Firehawk running yesterday. I didn’t get to the park till about 5 and went strait to Firehawk. There was about a 40 minute wait when I got in line. When I was about 4 trains away the weather started picking up and Firehawk’s operation was suspended. The Firehawk crew did a great job communicating with us in line about the delay and just chatting in general with us. There looked to be more rain coming on the radar, but it stayed dry long enough so those of us who wanted a last ride got one. It was great to get that one last ride. #RIPFirehawk

Sad to see it go, but I understand this will be addition by subtraction. Hopefully this will lead to bigger and better ride experiences. I can still remember going to Kings Island in early 2007 for a middle school concert band competition. I was standing in The Racer que and saw Firehawk in the distance. I remember thinking “That is going to be such a cool ride!”. For my first ride I remember standing in the que for what seemed like ages (probably due to new ride long line and the capacity issues), but when I finally got to ride I was ecstatic! I loved the unique experience it gave. Getting laid down in the station, laying on my back on the lift hill not being able to see anything, and the feeling like you were flying all contributed to that experience. I hope I am able to get some more rides on Firehawk in the coming weeks, especially on the final day.

I do find it interesting Kentucky Kingdom is using a similar hashtag to what Kings Island used for Mystic Timbers. #whatsinthewind compared to #whatsintheshed

The only rides that have decent lines are Diamondback and MT. However, the ice cream stands have the longest lines.

What are the all time records, yearly records, and single day records for times ridden for all roller coasters in the park? I think it would be kind of cool to have a leaderboard somewhere in the park. Kind of like how the Reds have the big leaderboards in the Reds Hall of Fame for all of the baseball statistics.

$100 seems steep to me. That’s the equivalent of 100 hours of locker rental.

I can confirm the Gold Pass renewal price of $99 ($105.99 after fees), as I also got my renewal email this morning. A few things I’m wondering though: Isn’t there usually a bonus with renewing passes? (Like free Fast Lane for a day in the current year) I am considering upgrading to Platinum for 2019, as I am contemplating going to Knott’s Berry Farm, Carowinds, and Cedair Point. Will I get the price of $190 mentioned above or will I have to pay a higher price?

Do you have to show up between 12 and 12:30 for the event at Stricker’s Grove? I am interested in going, but don’t think I will get there until 1:30-2 range.
