Do you remember what rides they typically offer the one time fastlane for and how much it cost in the past? I mean if I only do it on one coaster it's probably fine but I could see where single use would add up fast and maybe it's just worth investing in the real thing

I know last year, I saw Steel Vengeance,  Maverick,  Millennium Force,  Valravn and there may have been more. And the price may change depending on how busy they are, but I'd say the average I saw was around 20$.

Many times I took a burrito or 3 way into the VIP shack to eat. Occasionally a backpack with a few snacks. Never a big picnic though.

I should of specified park food. I was just thinking that could be a option in soakcity when sitting is limited.

Well, even if I had a pass, gas money would add up.  I'm in Delhi on the west side of Cincy and a good 45 minutes from KI, either via I-71 or occasionally I-275 and I-71.

Well if you need help, just let me know, I could swing getting you the pass, I couldn't swing the meal and drink add-on.

Had medical issues, that, while they weren't bad for my physically as I first feared, I've been taking it hard mentally which made me worry about what work I could do and had to adjust.  I'm mostly through it now but finding work I want/can do hasn't been fruitful recently, though.

I understand,  I started having severe medical issues a few years ago, thought it was anxiety,  ending up having open heart surgery. I work construction and have since I was 14 and am now 42, and don't know how much longer I can.

I asked, because I see you've been a member a long time,  and if you needed help buying a pass, I would help.

I've been to MIA twice, both in conjunction with CP trips.  MIA is over 4 hours from Sandusky.  Also make sure you use I-96 and not I-69, it can be easy to confuse the two, especially coming back from Muskegon.  If you've never been, I'd go just to experience MIA.  Its nice for what it is, though, Shivering Timbers was a jackhammer machine last season.  I'm not sure if they've continued re-tracking it, but its in dire need of TLC for about 4K of its mile long track.  Wolverine Wildcat was running really well at least, and Corkscrew and Thunderhawk are decent.   Decent supporting ride selection as well.   Food leaves a lot to be desired, both in the park and in Muskegon in general, and 0 live entertainment.   There also isn't much to Muskegon besides the Lake Michigan beaches.    If I were you and if possible, I'd do MIA before any bigger parks as you may get spoiled by the bigger, better parks which can taint your MIA experience, especially if Timbers isn't running well.

Also, if you're looking for another park in that vicinity,  Waldameer is slightly closer to Sandusky and Ravine Flyer II was running excellently last season.  And if you do Waldameer, do not pass up Sara's diner just outside the park.

As for me, I'm not even doing KI this season due to money issues, but I have a few trips I've had on the back burner that I want to do eventually.   One is a Missouri trip for SDC, SFStL and WoF with a likely stay in St Louis to see the Reds play there.  I've also been wanting to do a Canadian trip with Canada's Wonderland and La Ronde.

No KI this year? Are you close to KI? Is it the buying of the pass you can't swing,  or just getting there and so on in general?

The Pommes Frites at The French Corner.

It shows them on the Kings Island Menu, under where you can use the dining pass.

    The French Corner

Chicken Salad Croissant & Pommes Frites

    Ham Croissant & Pommes Frites

    Italian Croissant & Pommes Frites

Soup of the Day & Baguette

Boston Cream Pie Crème Éclair (Premium All Day Dining only)

Fondue for Two (Premium All Day Dining only)

Unless maybe this is old and they don't update it.

Prestige Passholders have experience in this...

KI Prestige Pass was good at CP...until it was not...

Included bottled drinks...until it was not...

Let's hope this is simply a pre- opening miscommunication and parking is included or they will have a lot of ticked off people.  It will certainly play into folks not visiting other parks as frequently...maybe that is their intent.

The KI prestige pass isn't good at CP?

I am a senior citizen.  I am not tech savvy. I need to stay in a hotel.  Can anyone suggest a good hotel which is close to KI in which I can't get lost?  The last time I was there, the hotel ran shuttle busses.  Thanks for your help.

The good ol Kings Island Inn and conference center with shuttle busses,  I loved that hotel. It had a indoor and outdoor pool, both with 9ft deep ends.

I did like the first drop as well but my knees still hold a grudge over the rose bowl.

I rode it and both my knees had swelling sticking out a good 2 inches. That metal bar for holding onto, was like a hammer just beating my knees the whole ride. I could honestly say, that's the most pain I've experienced in my life.

I am pretty sure passes can be linked to multiple web accounts.  It makes no difference who actually purchased them or pays for them.  At some point in the past they were added to both accounts and never removed.

The only oddity I have seen is I see no way to see the all park passport add-on, and in the Cedar Point app it lists my season long Fast Lane and the Kings Island app does not.

Strange, I see the all park addon on the Kings Island app, but our passes aren't recognized on the Cedar Point app..

Budget aside, 10 continuous days anywhere seems like a waste of entertainment dollars to me.

If I were doing nothing but marathoning coasters, yeah, 3 days would be too much. But the family-centric stays we've done there included shows/live E, copious beach/pool/resort time, water park time, etc., and we've never felt we overstayed during our 4/5 day visits. YMMV.

Yeah, we won't be marathoning coasters, will do Waterpark and a day on the beach, weather permitting.  Also, enjoying the  breakers pools and are suite. I bring a xbox and etc. I'd stay 20 if time from work off was possible. Great time

We did 3 days in a row last May and THAT was almost too much. I absolutely love CP, don't get me wrong, but I would absolutely need a break from the park all together to break it up. Plus there are a ton of really cool places to see, eat at and explore in Sandusky as a whole. I feel like folks who stay up there for the park rarely venture away to experience the awesome little city it's located in.

What's some fun stuff to do in the area?
