Source for both of those? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If that is true, then why do SteVe, MF, Maverick, and TTD all have the longest waits in the park? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
That would be too much work to cater to a select group of people.
-
Yeah this is why I think Kings Island will say this is a 300 foot tall coaster despite what the blueprints say. No one will be able to stop them or prove them wrong because it's all subjective.
-
It isn't possible for it to hit 100 mph with a drop of 301 feet.
-
Only if it has a 300+ foot drop. So ours would be a giga.
-
Anyone else see the WCPO story? There were so many things wrong with it.
-
When should we start to see footers being poured and teasers starting to be posted?
-
I feel like Kings Island will find some way to market it as being a 300 foot height and drop.
-
So that would make it 306 feet then? Or the same height as Leviathan and Steel Dragon 2000.
-
Yeah I agree with what you've said. This looks to be the layout and intensity of an Intamin paired with the reliability and comfort of a B&M. That to me makes it a winner in my book. It doesn't matter whether or not the lift hill makes it over the arbitrary 300' figure. The drop is longer than 2 of the 4 extant North American gigas and that alone should be exciting. And there's no MCBR so the intensity should be there throughout.
-
The plans do not show angle of descent.
-
Yeah and two more. Magnum would be a hyper even though the drop is 195 feet and Goliath at SFOG is not a hyper because the drop is only 175 feet.
-
Yeah the drop on this coaster will be longer than that of half the other North American gigas.
-
I consider it a giga if either the drop or height is above 300' and the other is within 10% of 300 feet. For example, Apollo's Chariot is a hyper but Lightning Rod is not becauase the drop is 165'.

The Next Cedar Point Coaster
Logan replied to BeastForever's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm guessing GCI or Gravity Group woodie under 100 feet in height. -
I think Cedar Point will get a GCI or Gravity Group woodie next on Millennium Island, but we will see.
-
Exactly what I've been saying all along. This ride is going to kick ass.
-
I've definitely seen a side view of them, though I don't recall where. They are regular B&M giga trains that you find on Fury and Leviathan.
-
As far as I can tell, the only new element incorporated into this coaster will be the turnaround. Whether that is a reverse treble clef or some sort of non-inverting dive loop remains to be seen.
-
No; the plans show standard B&M giga trains.
-
Lol if the announcement comes and the coaster is 286 feet like we're saying I guess people could still speculate on the "real" giga here
-
Yeah I can't tell you how many times people have asked me if I would ride "the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world" Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point.
-
I'm sure that with the giga opening FOF will have a huge increase in lines due to the overall crowds of X-Base. Now whether FOF will actually need all of those switchbacks remains to be seen.
-
Fair enough. But even if every single coaster enthusiast boycotted Kings Island and refused to go there, there would be a minimal impact on their wallets. This ride is built to please the masses and rake in the cash, and it will succeed in both of those goals with flying colors.
