  1. Not that this matters.... I live 5 miles away, and hear the fireworks nightly. They let me know that I'm up past my bed time. Being old sucks.
  2. One time I got to ride four rides in the course of 12 hours. There is nothing worse than a line.
  3. When I originally had this thought it was April, and still cold out. This is certainly true now. When going to the park you need a squid hat, some sort of rainbow tail that attaches to your belt, and a Steelers shirt that shows off your belly. I wore a blue golf shirt and kahaki shorts to the park last week. I felt horribly over dressed. I need a wild outfit. That is all there is to it.
  4. I think they can handle it with the Reds Hall of Fame Grill. They just need direction that cares about the food and trained managers to carry that out that direction. I think a little training and education can go a long way.
  5. Your friends may have low standards for a $13 burger. To each their own. I can only comment in relation to my palate.
  6. I'm shocked that they don't offer green beans as a side for the BBQ. I wish a side salad was always an option. And that salad was something other than a bagged ice berg mix. Rather than a steak house, I would love to see cheese burger place that is at least the quality of Wendy's. 5 guys quality would be amazing. But I would settle for an ok cheeseburger. Most of the cheeseburgers I've seen look to be cooked until they are a hockey puck, and placed on stale bread. I would also like to see a pay by the pound salad bar like they have at grocery stores, but I know thats asking a lot.
  7. I was disappointed to see that there is a people of Kings Island Instagram account, but it doesn’t appear to be active. I was disappointed. My wife and I enjoy the people watching more than the rides. I often feel like I’m the only person in the Park not wearing a tie died Steelers shirt that is 3x too large with an offensive saying on it. People not abiding by the dress code doesn’t bother me. I could care less how naked they are. But I do find it funny that people have such little self respect that they dress that way.
  8. I’m aware. I was speaking more about not caring/not knowing/ not informing that there are different types of lettuce and a shortage of one type in particular. I don’t expect them to pick up the slack for supply issues. Sorry if I made it seem that’s way.
  9. I buy 6 heads of romain for $3 once a week at this very Costco. If I’m paying $12 for a salad you would think you could get some at Costco. Fastfood workers for the most part don’t care about their product. These people are summer help and have even less of a passion for food. I doubt it gets better unless the chef is bringing about a culture change also.
  10. I went there a while back because they have kids meals, and my son really wanted some mac and cheese with green beans. They were out of both. He ended up with a hot dog and fries. He's less than two, so we just convinced him he had been wanting a hot dog. I get it, they run out of things. I find the salads to be a bit sub par (unless you only want to eat them for the dressing). But I really liked the pulled park nachos. In the end I recognize I am essentially eating fast food that costs 2x more and is made by people not trained in the art of fast food. I'm not sure what I really expected.
  11. I’m 7 meals in and I finally had a bad meal experience. On Friday I waited in line for 40 minutes to get Panda Express. There were six people working. One making plates. One checking out. 4 standing around. The hold up was with the guy making the plates. Why no one else could help, the world may never know. My Lo Mein was burnt and crispy. As were the rangoons. The beef and broccoli was two bites of grizzle and a scoop full of steamed broccoli. The broccoli was good. Everything else was very bad. is this par for the course, or did I hit it on a bad night?
  12. Always use the Waze app. It takes you on the fastest route possible in real time. Also Cincinnati is a big place and there is a lot of traffic no matter where you go.
  13. I also had some of the flavored water. It was more like fake juice to me. I can’t imagine how much sugar was in it. But it did taste good. Just not something I can drink ever.
  14. How does food prep work at KI, is there a main kithcen and they move the food to the individual restaurants? Anyway, last night we went to the Skyline on I-street. They were out of salads. My wife and I were the only people in line at the restaurant. 5 workers were just standing there. This lead me to believe that they didn't make the food on hand. I could be wrong. As for a compliment, those folks made a fine 3 way! But I really wanted a salad.
  15. I was there from 6-8pm last night. I saw empty trains on every ride. It was amazing. This was probably because of a few things, school was in. It was overcast. North of Kings Island there were severe Thunder Storms. I'm hoping to get another week day visit while school is in.
  16. I wonder if security would let you sneak your own bottle of BBQ/ hot sauce in?
  17. First season on the dining plan here. As near as I can tell it is all fast food. Some of it carries the name of fast food (Chick-Fil-A, skyline, etc). Some of it copies fast food (Chicken Shack = Raising Canes, Hanks = Chipotle). Unless you are disillusioned, Taco Bell isn't bringing down the status quo. If anything it should just open your eyes up to what you are actually eating. As a side note, I am a typical overweight suburbanite that love fast food. I'm really not trying to be judgy with this post. I paid $100 for three months of all I can eat food. It shouldn't be that good. It really can't be at that price. On to an actual review- We had the brisket this weekend and found it to be on par with the other BBQ offerings. The first day, I just believe the brisket was sliced wrong. It looked like regular brisket today. I tried the macaroni and cheese for the first time. it is a pretty typical cheese sauce made from a roue. I thought it was pretty good. Putting it in a pan and baking it would do wonders for the texture.
  18. Thanks. I figured this to be true especially since the one in the airport is close. Thus it was a stupid question.
  19. Probably a dumb question but..... is the chick-fil-a open on sundays?
  20. I thought the food at the Coney BBQ was excellent. This is my first year and first meal on the dining pass, so I don’t have a lot to judge on. We had chicken, sausage and tri tip. I’m terms of BBQ they succeeded where almost every other place in a non BBQ region fails. They seasoned the meat. I would love to know why every BBQ place in ohio fails at this. Anyway, I thought the portions were good. I would have appreciated a low carb side like green beans. That’s really my only complaint. We had the fries and max and cheese. Both were much better than normal mass prepared food. I look forward to plenty more meals this year!
  21. Can you use an all season drink pass to get coffee anywhere? as a person that doesn’t drink soda I was very excited that the Coke freestyle machines had sparkling Dasani in them. I love me some varying flavors of club soda.
  22. Days of Thunder is my favorite movie, even though I hate NASCAR. It's so terrible and cheesy. Everything is over the top. It's basically Top Gun is a race car. I miss this ride a lot. Living out the movie was amazing even if the ride was lame. I'm 100% positive I am the only person that has this opinion.
  23. Hi everyone, first time long time... My family recently moved to the KI area, and we were gifted season passes with the food add on. My question involves the drink pass. Can I use it to get a bottle of water? I'm not a fan of soda. I can't seem to find much info on this. Also, are there any bars/concessions that sell craft beer?
