MH was at the park this morning. He was looking at the posters and an employee came up and told him to come back tomorrow. Guess he said there would be something new or they just want you to come back every day lol.

Well glad I’m not the only one not seeing perks
I’ll probably stop by guest services next time I’m at the park.

Has anyone received a pass perks email? I’ve been three times since they sent the email about the program and I haven’t received anything. Am I missing something?

Eta: sorry I see now that someone else has asked this question already.

I believe that Mystic Timbers has a minimum start up temperature.  It was 33 when I got to the park last night at 4:45.  Mystic Timbers never opened last night as the temperature only dropped.  There were still people pouring in when I left around 7:30.

I've been to WinterFest three nights now and am encouraged by all the improvements made this year to what was already a spectacular event.  They've made better use of all the spaces, improving performance "venues" for "Four Drummers Drumming", "The Mistletones" and of course, "What the Dickens" and "A Peanuts Guide to Christmas."  "Tinker's Toy Factory" feels even more polished and the trolley show seems to have better sound and a more cohesive cast this year.  I'm a big fan of "The Sounds of the Nativity" as a bit of a hidden gem in that corner of the park with truly the best vocalists Entertainment has to offer.  "Jingle Jazz" sounds great this year, too. The lights are gorgeous all over the park - especially in Coney - and I'm glad they turned the lake red/green instead of the odd purple it was last year (though that was pretty and different.)
Food operations is still a bit frustrating, with the Chicken Shack having to pull security guards in one night to hand out food. I did have the roast beef at the Smokehouse and it was delicious and there was no wait.  I had the buffet at the Reds Hall of Fame Grille (I-Street was closed that night) and was surprised by the quality of the food. We got there when it opened (which was about 5:45 for some reason... can we put up a sign and get consistent with our opening times, please?).  The turkey was juicy. The ham was perfectly cooked, especially on the ends and the maple glaze was very tasty.  The mashed potatoes were out of this world and I didn't mind the bag of cookies, though I did think it odd that they made the poor cashier hand those out on top of all the buttons he had to push (seriously, it was like he was entering launch codes for NASA just to ring me up.). Oh!  And the hot chocolate - from the places that can get it "from the tap" (instead of a bucket) is pretty great... especially back on the path to Winterfest Way where she gave me marshmallows, whipped creams and chocolate sauce.
I can't wait to see what's in store for next year's event now and I am hopeful that they are learning about how much people enjoy Entertainment offerings in the park and will increase that budget back to the days when we had 5 or 6 quality  shows (at least).

In addition to Gold Pass being extended, they added another Bring a friend for Sunday, and added a Wednesday Friends day for rest of June and July...I am guessing attendance on Sunday was below their expectation...

I was thinking this too. I was kind of annoyed to pay the locker fee at first bc I’m originally from Orlando and that was my experience at universal.
On another note, I noticed quite a few kids just hiding their bags behind bushes at Cedar Point, risky but clever lol.

My first ride on The Bat ever was at night this past weekend. It was freaking amazing! I was surprised by how fast it felt, I was honestly kinda scared lol. And the walk through the queue really helped with my step goal

As usual, we headed to Carowinds to ride Fury 325.  We ran into Phil, Kim, and Paul who used to frequent KI.
It was busier than last few weeks but still got 6 rides on Fury in 60 minutes. We rode it 15 times last week in 60 minutes. It is obvious that the crowd on Sunday morning is much lighter than other major CF parks.  I also love that they allow re-rides here.
We walked over to WindSeeker and saw the construction of the next year's attraction. The rumor is still double launch coaster. The area is not very large but some support structures were built already. I am sure they will announce it soon.
As usual, Afterburn was a walk on.  Intimidator was only 5 minutes wait.
It was nice to see old coaster friends from KI. We are planning to go to KI and CP later this year.

The Eiffel Tower is also your friend in eyeing queue lengths quickly without having to traverse the whole park.
For most of the park at least.

I find most advertised wait times at most parks to be unreliable. The best way to estimate the wait time is to be familiar enough with the ride to look at the queue and estimate the wait yourself. For most rides at KI and some at other parks, I can ballpark the wait time just by seeing how many switchbacks are open and where the end of the line is. With a little experience you will be able to do the same.

The app gets updated when ride crews report their estimated wait time.
For the most part, I find the data to be more or less accurate, as ride crews are pretty good at estimating their wait time. Sometimes, a ride won't send in their report, and their time will become outdated in the app. If Diamondback says 5 minutes but more other rides are 30+ minutes, something's probably wrong.

Welcome to KIC! The app replaces the signs at KI, however accurate. I am not sure how it is updated.
