  1. The ride it’s self is themed to a run away ski lift while the Alp folklore creature is completely different and has nothing to do with with the Alp mountains to which Alpengeist is clearly themed to. I don’t know why we really need to debate wether or not the name is ok when it was just a thought I had.
  2. Alp is actually a German folklore creature, not at all related to the alp mountains.
  3. I don’t really have any names to fit with the X-Base theme but I do have a few ideas of folklore names they could maybe use. Wendigo Alp Basilisks Jinn
  4. Night ride on most of the major rollercoasters Go to the water park for once and ride the drop slides Do one of the paid attractions That’s about it, not as creative as you, I can’t wait for this season to kick off!
  5. There were footings on opening day? Didn’t know that, I’m definitely having a lot of anticipation for preview night.
  6. As long as it doesn’t violate any contracts you signed with the park then it should be fine, someone earlier in the thread still works for KI currently posted a comment. The more the better imo!
  7. At least they really take safety really seriously. I’d assume there as strict now a days?
  8. At least test seats are more common now a days to prevent that from happening.
  9. Definitely seems like a satisfying job! Thanks for keeping the park beautiful.
  10. If you don’t mind sharing what was your response to that question?
  11. I mean marketing is going to be able to make up dozens of records like they always do but at the end of day do people really care about some of the “records”. In terms of the big 3 records out there (Height, Speed & length) I doubt it’ll break any of those, I’m sure there’s going to be records it’ll break (I already mentioned it’d probably break the North American records) but who really cares about a lot of these records? You can spin almost any coaster to break some records, you could theoretically say Banshee broke the records for “First invert with vest restraints, Only B&M invert with no pre-drop”. Records for the most part are just for marketing.
  12. Because they don’t always break records? Banshee for example wasn’t the fastest or tallest invert when it opened. And plus giga records are somewhat hard to beat. To be the tallest giga it’d have to be 368 ft and to be the longest giga coaster it’d need to be the longest coaster in the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if it broke the US giga height record.
  13. I’m talking about the level of theming for copperhead strike and Mystic Timbers, I’m not at all imply Disney level theming. Also I thought my season long Fast Lane was $500 each but the website says it’s now $550, maybe the prices increased?
  14. The way I see it is that if you’re investing 30-40 million dollars in a ride you might as well add theming. It’s not incredibly expensive when compared to the cost of the ride. I’d rather see theming even if it meant the ride was shorter.
  15. Kind of funny you say that considering Paramount maintained the clocks but I get your point. Although I do wonder if it’s the new CEO or the relatively new GM who is mostly responsible for these recent renovations.
  16. Might want to add Drop Tower, Wind seeker, white water rapids ect.
  17. Maybe I should have told my self that when I added Fast Lane to my platinum passes.
  18. Well the only thing that might be wrong with that theory is the fact he specifically said Kings Island when several other Cedar Fair parks are doing the festival.
  19. @FlightTimberHawk If you look at the reports from TEA they show that Kings Island attendance has been constantly growing and is by no means stagnant. Judging by how much is being invested into KI this year paints a very different picture then what your “inside” information is suggesting. A stagnant park doesn’t receive investment.
  20. Yeah I understand, I agree with you for the most part but I do personally think the actual front gate could use a renovation in my opinion.
  21. I’d not be opposed to a front gate make over tbh, something like Carowinds front gate is a good example on how to do it somewhat elegantly. I think the new Hershey park front gate is also a pretty good way to redo the front gate.
  22. Because Cedar Fair really cares about spreading out who gets rollercoasters..... there was a 3 year gap between Banshee and Mystic Timbers so once could assume that maybe it indeed would be Kings Island “turn”. Any ways with there being a major roller coaster removal last year I’d say 2020 is a reasonable assumption as to when Kings Island gets a new rollercoaster.
  23. I mean if we saw track with a backbone then that’d be pretty suspicious.
